  1. If any given game won't boot but shows the audio screen, that's usually a dead-on indicator that the disc image you have really isn't selfboot. Well, usually, as there are some oddball exceptions. Since you're using gdrDemul, I have to ask: have you burned the Ecco disc image to a CD-R or are you using a virtual drive? If you have the game on CD-R, are you sure you've burned it properly? It would be less hassle for you if you'd use gdrImage plugin instead, and use that to mount the disc image file directly and play using that. No need for physical media.
  2. Playing the Minerva's Den DLC in BioShock 2. Money well spent.
  3. Good for you man. Good for you. I've been watching BBC World quite a bit these past few weeks or so, and seeing that devastation is quite heartbreaking. I live in a country that doesn't really get hit with any natural disasters to speak of, and the "floods" some parts of the country get are minuscule in comparison. In other news, Rio de Janeiro. Not good.
  4. For starters, use a nullDC version that isn't old as hell. 1.0.3 is what most people use if they favor nullDC. Demul is also a [perhaps better] option. If your disc image is selfboot (like most should be, at least those that have been properly ripped), you don't need to mess around with a bootdisc. Anyway, you've said nothing about the plugin setup you use, specifically the GD-ROM plugin in use. By the looks of it, the Utopia bootdisc messes nullDC up completely.
  5. This has nothing to do with DSEmu. Moved. You need to st No$Gba to emulate the correct savetype. The current selected savetype is wrong, i.e. not the one that the game expects, hence the message.
  6. A part of it might get attributed to the fact that Tekken has always been a PlayStation brand prior to Tekken 6. Same goes for lots of games before the X360 and PS3 were released.
  7. The older I get, the less special Christmas feels. Sometimes I truly wish that I was a kid again. Regardless, Christmas is still a lot of fun. Got a pajama, some aftershave, a Garfield comic of some sort, BlazBlue CS (sort of), and some chocolate. Haven't gotten anything specific from my mom yet, so I suppose she'll just give money.
  8. Ass-sassies Creed? Ass-assassin's Creed? I got nothing.
  9. Neither Altaïr nor Ezio are supernatural enough for Mortal Kombat. Plus, ripping their opponents' spines or doing something overly violent per MK standards doesn't fit the characters either. Kratos does fit that bill though. Like a glove.
  10. Moar like "Hold My Wallet - PlayStation Network Holiday Sale". Scott Pilgrim The Game FTW
  11. We are resilient. We will survive. Like cockroaches.
  12. I'm of the mindset that if a developer bothers to create an exclusive character for one port of a given multiplatform game to begin with, they should do the same for all ports. Having said that, exclusive characters are marketing gimmicks at best and bound to piss of some section of the fanbase.
  13. I was just wondering, how many games with platform-exclusive characters is there so far? Off the top of my head I can at least name Soul Calibur II (Heihachi/Spawn/Link) and Soul Calibur IV (Yoda/Darth Vader/Star Killer?). Any others?
  14. We get lots of snow here. Constantly.
  15. No, you don't have to download new games. Think about what you're asking for a moment - wouldn't it feel a bit stupid and backwards if different console emulators or different versions of the same emulator (that emulate the same console, for all intents and purposes) needed different ROMs to function? We are not telling where to get ROMs. When in doubt, read the board rules.
  16. You haven't got the latest DirectX redistributable package installed. Either go to Microsoft's site and download the DirectX updater, or download 3d3x9_42.dll file separately from a DLL archive and put it in VBA's folder.
  17. I disabled BBcode for private messages after that spambot we had PM'ing users a few years back. Put BBCode back in there. The PMs look like shit and are hard to read if the content has lots of quotes.
  18. Sorry, you'll have to figure that one out yourself, I don't use 7-Zip. What I can say though that it really isn't rocket science. Read the documentation that comes with the program if you can't figure it out just by staring at the main program window.
  19. From what I've hard, pretty good. Look for Dolphin SVN releases: http://www.dolphin-emulator.com/download.html
  20. Weird. I've had no trouble, timeouts or otherwise.
  21. Well, personally I like to have some control over what programs get access to my Internet connection. It's true though that anti-virus software is the one that's supposed to act as the gatekeeper, stopping unwanted registry modifications, malicious executables and the like - not the firewall.
  22. Don't bother with the Arcade. This is a messageboard, not a place to come and play flash games.
  23. Regardless of whether or not you were being cheeky --- Yes, but it seems old Xbox is only good for modding and emulators these days, and that's the only reason said subforum gets all the traffic it does. I rarely go there, so I honestly don't know half the shit and drama that goes on there.
  24. I'm sorry, I just... lol'd so hard at that. But yeah, Ideas On This Forum subforum is kinda useless. It's nice that people get to voice their opinion and ask for stuff to get implemented/changed, yet 99% of that never becomes a reality. Besides, this place isn't a bastion of democracy. Same with Weblinks Exchange. That subforum only attracts more and more spambots, and nothing even remotely interesting. if someone wants to share a link to a site and start some discussion pertaining to it, they can just use Current Affairs. I'm a bit torn on the fate of the Online Gaming subforum. The posts there mainly deal with PC stuff, and most people go online on their consoles. If we had a stronger PC MMORPG/Counter Strike/What Have You community, perhaps the forum would be more useful. From what I've gathered, most people prefer to play online on their consoles, and that kind of talk can go to the subforum of the console in question. The Radio Show was a nice effort, but let's face it, there's no need to keep that on the board anymore. New groupings of the console sections might be a good idea since they would hopefully get more posts, as now most new gaming threads are shamelessly dumped in Current Affairs in order to get more exposure.
