Game name: Kirby's Dream Land 2 Systems: GB, GBC, GBA Genre: Platform Emulators: Visualboy, VisualboyAdvanced --------------------------- I figured I wouldn't be showing my Kirby roots if I didn't review the game that got me hooked to the Kirby series in the first place. In this game Kirby's Dream Land is Once again in trouble. This time, Kirby has to retrieve 7 Rainbow keys to create the Rainbow Sword to defeat a nightmare and King Dedede. Kirby gets help from animal friends as they travel to each place defeating bosses. Seen here, Kirby is flying in his famous star. This is where Kirby picks worlds. As you beat the boss of the world, A new world pops up. Each world consists of levels. There are more levels as the worlds progress on. Kirby can fly, shoot fireballs with air, walk, run and eat people. The controls in this game are pretty simple and are very very easy to learn. Your fingers start to get sore a bit due to the animal help Kirby recieves. In some levels, there are sub bosses. When you defeat them, you can get their power and you get an animal friend. These animal friends consist of a: hamster, fish, and bird. Each animal is useful in their own way. Also, each animal has a different combo attack with the power Kirby has. For example, if Kirby has the spark power. Kirby - Emits himself in sparks Hamster - Shoots spark beam Bird - Shoots thunder bolt downwards Fish - Shoots Lightbulb that Explodes on impact. Each Animal helps Kirby in his quest to defeat the Nightmare and King Dedede. However, Beating the game isn't enough. You have to beat it once and beat it again. You have to get the rainbow key hidden in each level to actually get the rainbow sword. Each key requires an animal and a specific power to break it. This can get frustating at times. The key goal is to get 100% progress. Then you can open up modes in the game such as boss mode, survival mode, getting stars mode, and the sound test mode. Gameplay: 8 Controls: 10 Sound: 9 Graphics: 9 Score: 8.75 Grade: B+ Overall I give this game a

Game Name: Kirby Superstar Systems: Snes Genre: Platform Emulators: Zsnes, Snes9x ------------------------------------------- Kirby Superstar is probably one of the greatest Kirby games out there to this day. I have only discovered it half a year ago, and I still love it. It is the same Kirby goodness but it is so much more than that. There are minigames and new game modes in this game, but it still retains to the original Kirby gameplay. There is multiple story plots in this game and some don't make sense at all, but most games are fun without any plot As you can see here, there are multiple game modes. Some are locked and you have to beat the rest of the levels to unlock them. My favorite level includes one that involves metaknight (2nd favorite kirby char). All games are as equally hard and challenging as the other modes. However, the levels that you unlock get really really hard and takes a lot of skill to beat them. The bosses play a key part in this game and You'll probably want to know their weaknesses (hint hint). So what changed about Kirby? Basically nothing. You can still eat, slide, fly, shoot fireballs. However there are a ton of awesome powers in this game that makes the game more enjoyable. Some are plain useless and were just put there to make the gameplay fun! The graphics also look way better than before, and the layout of the lifepoints and stuff are easier to read . The backgrounds and the music of the game are still catchy! Kirby = Always Catchy. Not much I can say about this here anymore. Kirby superstar took kirby's powers to a whole new level. Besides just discarding powers now, Kirby can make a partner that assist Kirby in his fight against the enemies. You can also extract life from your partner which is really really nice. The only bug with this feature is that you can turn your partner into an item which allows you to get the power again. Then, you can get the partner again and steal his life points, Its an infinite amount of lifepoints!!! The powers were really revamped also. They added many special moves to each power that make them unique. Finally, some powers aren't just one thing anymore . (As you can see, I like the fighter power). The minigames are a nice feature to Kirby superstar. They are more based on reaction times and timing. They're not that hard to master, and they're a nice break from making kirby eat an infinite amount of enemies. One minigame includes a samurai game which times your reaction. The other minigame is a karate chop contest that trains your timing. Each are pretty easy if you don't mess up. Kirby Superstar for Snes is a must have for Kirby fans and Video gamers. It took Kirby to a whole new level and is way better than those Kirby games you see today. Kirby needs to stay 2d because his reputation can't save him all the time! Play this game now!!! Gameplay: 10 Speed: 9.5 Sound: 9.5 Controls: 10 Score 9.75. Grade: A+ <--I'm breaking rules here Overall, I gave this game a

Game Name: Kirby's Adventure Systems: Nes Genre: Platform Emulators: Jnes, Nesticle ------------------------------- It was only a matter of time before I started to review the kirby series Well, Kirby's Adventure takes place in Dreamland. One day, the inhabitants of Dreamland Couldn't dream. Kirby went to investigate the Dream Fountain which sprouts dreams. The Dream Fountain was powered by the star rod but it was missing. Kirby found out that King Dedede stole the star rod, broke it into many pieces, and gave it to his friends who are hiding in Dreamland. Kirby has defeat the friends and recover the Star rod. You travel around to different dungeons on a map thing. Theres not much you can travel in but you can practice controls and new powers here without worrying about getting killed. As you beat levels, new levels pop up as well as games and helpful features. Kirby's Adventure has pretty simple controls. You can move, dash, jump, and fly. Flying is usually the easy way to get through levels so you won't get hit, and it also makes a fireball thing when you shoot the air out. Kirby can kill enemies by eating them. He sucks them up and you can either spit them out at other enemies or digest them. There are some special enemies that allows Kirby to gain their powers. Some powers Kirby can get are sword, ice, fire, spark, etc... You can press start to see information on what the new power you got does. If you don't like the power, you can discard it by pressing the select button. Its pretty simple. Bosses also give you unique powers. Later on, you can find the bosses powers in enemies. There are also powers that you can only use once or 3 times but they are extremly powerful! To not to make people bored with the game, you can find extra levels in the map. The one shown here is a museum which allows Kirby to get a free power. There are also mini games such as the crane game that allows Kirby to get free extra ups. These can be helpful especially if the power you have sucks. After each level, there is a bonus round that you have to catapult kirby in the air to get points or items. If you can do it successfully, you get a 1up. It goes pretty fast so you have to be ready I suppose. Music is pretty nice. Its all about being catchy without trying to annoy you. Anyways, what can i say? This is a pretty fun, straightforward game. Theres not much you can get stuck on, and it was the start of a great series and a character. As you can see from my screenshots, I enjoy the sword as my main power Gameplay: 9.5 Controls: 9 Sound: 9 Graphics: 9 Grade: A Overall I give this game a
