What Do You Snack On When On The Computer?
ken_cinder replied to Gryph's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I drink cappucino regularly, and if I'm busy on here.....I eat my lunch/dinner at the computer. I don't eat any of the fat ass junk foods you listed. -
Neo-cd Emu For Dreamcast!
ken_cinder replied to Wizard's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
There are Cue Sheet creating softs out there, meant for creating cue sheets from ISO+MP3 rips and other kinds of things. Sega Cue Maker was designed for Sega CD/Saturn rips....and works just fine with anything else, including Neo Geo CD. Google for it........ -
Either you are WAY behind in Xbox emulation, or you were just tired *cough* lazy *cough* and didn't elaborate more with your post. Yes CXBX is now running Turok Evolution, playable. But not an official release yet of the updated version....if you want to play Turok Evo, you have to compile your own from the CVS.

What's So Bad About Going Off-topic?
ken_cinder replied to random guy's topic in Suggestions Box [/feedback]
Throwing topics off course, leads to spamage..........flamage, and quite frankly, wasted database space cause topics end up going on and on and on like the energizer bunny, about absolutely NOTHING -

It's only a picture for j00 cause it would be in your cache......, even other IE users would see just a garbled text. To show others.txt (fool the Geocities!) use the tag.

That's because he's linking it from a Gayocities account, so the only way to do it is with a.txt extension /me fix0rz K`dash's link to an image displayed........

Neo-cd Emu For Dreamcast!
ken_cinder replied to Wizard's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
pssst if you bothered to check the authors website, you'd see there have already been TWO (Count em TWO) releases of this emulator that you can download and try for yourself...........it's not "Coming Soon", it's been here for months. And this does NOT belong in Current Affairs. *sigh* Moves thread -
Yes! #1 Stupid Game EVER Award! E.T. for Atari 2600! Followed closely (And I mean VERY closely) in 2nd place...... Club Drive for Atari Jaguar (Man this game sucked sooooooo bad, E.T. barely beats it for #1 spot)

Need Help About Internet/computer
ken_cinder replied to Samurai Edge's topic in Nerd's Chatter [/nerds]
Very good advice there Gamecop. ANY System process found running as a User process, is generally something that shouldn't be there. A virus or spyware. If you didn't start the process yourself (starting up an app), it's not something run from your Startup folder or listed in MSCONFIG under "Startup" and it's running under your username, there is a good bet that A: It doesn't need to be running B: Something installed it for you and is running it under your username via a registry key on startup. It's a good idea to go through your MSCONFIG every month (Even more if you like) and check for items there that shouldn't be there. Use a registry cleaning tool, and spy ware scanner. Of course, before deleting/disabling ANYTHING, look up the file with your fav search engine to find out what it is, because it could very well be something you DO need. -
Self-booting/burning Problems
ken_cinder replied to Cominus's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
That is what is known as a Data/Data layout, and yes if it was done correctly it should be self booting. Audio/Data layout is more common however. I've burnt Data/Data self boots before, and they worked just fine. I say give it a shot, and don't stress yourself over 1 CD-R. (Ooo like what? 10 cents?) If it turns out to be a dud, you know whoever did that Data/Data boot screwed up, and you need to fix0r it! -
Killz0r EXPLORER (ctrl+alt+del and do it), then DO NOT start it again..........instead, do NEW TASK > CMD, drag your ass to the location of the file and delete it in DOS BEFORE starting Explorer up again. If that doesn't work, you broke something and you broke it good

World Agog At Google's New 'free Email Service'
ken_cinder replied to ForceX's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I'll stick with Hotmail (2MB limit btw, not 1) and my email server with my host. 1GB of google ad infested email that (obviously) won't be accessible from anything but a web browser sounds crappy, especially without the ability to folder emails, and have them "dumped" into a context where they read like a conversation. (I like my email headers n crap) Sending attachments up to 1GB? Highly doubt it, and what kind of doofus sends ISOs by email? That's silly........use FTP. -
Use NeoCD SDL........does a better job emulating Neo Geo CD than Nebula IMO P.S. You're welcome for my slew of Neo CD torrents on Suprnova (I assume you got em there, I haven't seen any posted anywhere else)......I still have more to post so LOOK OUT!

Shikigami 2 - Ripped Yet?
ken_cinder replied to N3oGhost's topic in DreamCast & Saturn Emulators [/pc/dc+saturn]
There is no IDSA anymore, they changed their name to "Entertainment Software Association" months ago. Let's see those mofo's come after me for posting Neo Geo CD on Suprnova! -

I'm not really into this end of arcade emulation, but FBA being the emulator to see CPS3 first? biatch please.......it doesn't even run G-Loc that great. I'd expect to see a completely seperate emulator running CPS3 just because of how CPS3 works compared to CPS1/2, let alone seeing FBA running it over any other emulator capable of CPS emulation.

Need Help About Internet/computer
ken_cinder replied to Samurai Edge's topic in Nerd's Chatter [/nerds]
Windows starts up as many instances of SVCHOST as it needs to manage the loads of certain application/network/etc needs. If you have 5 processes running, you more than likely have several different application types running (Be it up on the desktop, or from the systray) file sharing between networked PCs enabled and possibly other users logged into the same PC at the same time. SVCHOST running 5 times isn't 5 different files, it's 5 processes using that same file (Only 1) so no you can't delete it. -
I was thinking of pulling a prank here for April fools..........locking all the forums and turning the board offline on you all. Don't think Mr. Gamecop would be to happy with me after though. I'm never changing mine unless someone else wants to make me something unique to replace it with.

Whuppee......it's just a DC client, a glorified Reverse Connect as was already stated. Checked it out, and it doesn't seem to do any file hashing, which btw the newest DC++ does which will lead to TRUE and PROPER multi-source downloads. It also isn't "based" on Direct Connect, it IS Direct Connect. All the hub lists it downloads are DC ones. And I also connected it to my hub,, this POS doesn't have any chat feature unless you force it to show the hub in question (Why hide it from the outset?)........it's just a LEECH MACHINE. You aren't able to change it's slots, it lies about how many hubs it is connected to and it's using DC++ tags. If it IS based on DC++ code, they aren't supplying source and they are obligated to. If it isn't, they shouldn't be passing their client off as something it isn't. This thing is also featureless to the max. MY RATING = 3 Conclusion = TEH SUCK, use reverse connect if you're so hyped about having multi-source downloads, or stick with DC++ cause it's hashing feature will bring multi-source the proper way.

Umm Bob........that error regarding RPC, is caused by the MSBLASTER worm. You best get yourself the fix from the link I posted. BOTH of you. I'm not kidding here. I am 99.9999999% positive.

Right click on My Computer, and click on Properties. Then go to the Advanced and click on Settings under Startup and Recovery. Inside there uncheck the box that say's Automatically Restart There you should be good to go now, if that doesn't do it.......it's bound to be a virus bringing that up. This does however sound ALOT like what the MSBLASTER worm pulls. Be safe and get the fix for it here.
