Gryph Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Aliens vs Predator 2, human campigan, chapter 2. It was late at night, and I actualy gumped of my chair when the aliens came from my back.Aw man that was scary! Actually, most of the human campaign was creepy as hell. I played the other two before that so I could keep the scariest for the last.
Smilee Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 The original Silent Hill is the scariest and most disturbing game even today.
Cominus Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 I have AVP2, even though i never beat it because it would freeze on me in the Predetor campiiegn. RE3 wasnt really scary but it's freak you out when you walk into a room or run down the street and that stupid nemisis would start chasing you.
Xeon Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Alone in the Dark was a very scary game.what part? its already in its 4th part now (and even that is old by now) but if you mean "The New Nightmare" game then i agree. limited ammo, somewhat unlimited zombies and moody dark mansion atmosphere makes it a true survival horror game. Clive Barker's The Undying was a creepy FPS too though i only got to see a peek of it.
Thraxen Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Silent Hill. Games like Resident Evil rely primarily on jump-out-at-you type scare tactics (i.e. monsters crashing through windows). It works when your not expecting it, but I find games like Silent Hill that use a lot more of a psychological scare more disturbing. Silent Hill uses a lot of disturbing images and creepy sounds/music to scare you. BTW, I love the video for the upcoming Silent Hill game... looks very creepy.

Smilee Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Hey *ahem* me too agozer... Anyway SH4 should be the scariest game ever made. But my favorite is still the first one.
Cominus Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Yeah they do pretty much rely on that but the ones on the GC are really "graphictalized"(is that a word) It's not scary but it looks scary. If silent hill and the RE dudes got together they would probably make a heck of a game. Get it heck as in hell, where demons come from....nevermind... ...
Prican25 Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 (edited) re scared me when i first bought the ps1 (playing it in the dark and at midnight). same for silent hill and fatal frame (may sound cheesy by just taking pictures but don't let that fool you!) Edited March 19, 2004 by Prican25

kaioshade Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 Fatal Frame. play the xbox version in 5.1. it will make your skin crawl.
lancerx Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 Fatal Frame, as i said b4, is a great scary game, i was impressed with the enviroment, RE is not scary at all, i pllayed th Gc version and it was entertained for a while, never played the ps1 vers. and for SH i agreed with Prican, the first one is my favorite too, i´ve never been more scared in game ever, i love to play those game in the night, after 11 or 12 pm.
Shibathedog Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 Fatal Frame, sweetest horror game ever i recommend the Xbox version though because the graphics are better than PS2 Fatal Frame II will only be on PS2 though, still sweet...
