It looks like Night Vipers version... the GI Joe.

 

I wonder how good they are? a basic 1st gen night vision goggles run just over $260. There is a toy out thats about $80 and apparently they do indeed work. Googling around... I want some badass goggles now. $5900!!! Duuuuuude those are BADASS! SEE THE RESOLUTION!!!!! whaaaaaat.

 

Yea the image you'll see in the ones with that game package will look real real grainy. But thats ok... Hera's husband and I have ALWAYS wanted night vision goggles... We used to talk about it back in 93-94. We wanted to go out on night ops and feel all stealthy... but... with no real purpose. lol. Hera, show scott that link I submitted.

3.50 for a single disc? Check out www.supermediastore.com I always order mass quantities of Taiyo Yudens from them, but Verbatim and Ritek are pretty much just as good and they carry those too. (they have some super cheap brand I forget what its called if you just want a ton of blank discs for cheap too)

 

I read that the goggles are pretty much exactly the same as these:

It's just a bunch of IR LEDs surrounding a lens with the IR filter removed. I built something like this out of an old webcam years back, I just replaced the green power LED with the IR LED and smashed the IR filter Of course my camera only had 1 LED but It wouldn't have been that hard to add more, it was just a really shitty webcam and I was basically doing it just to see if I could.

Well, for those with an iphone can download the night vision app, which isn't too bad of an alternative.

Assuming you have an iphone. Modern Warfare 2 and the goggles are cheaper.
