L.S.D Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 *waits impatiently*i can't wait too. it seems that PS3 launch went smoothly except for the fact that 200 PS1 and PS2 games are not playable on PS3. Not that it bother me.
solidius23 Posted November 17, 2006 Author Posted November 17, 2006 ok if you have or have ever played a psp u basicly got the gist of the PS3 user interface. very good idea on sonys part imo. i hooked up to the network and it worked quite well considering it was on launch day when i tested it out . needless to say there were not many people online but there was a motorstorm demo ready to download and it was really fun i must say. there was also a system update and it all transferred very smoothly. well thats all for now i can only sit at the puter in spurts turns out i may have gotten sick sitting outside for 16 hours in freezing cold temps. but i am pleased with everything so far. post some questions and i will try to get them answered.
Wizard Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Test out the HDMI cables for me. There've been a couple of reports of HD malfunctioning on certain HDTVs.
Mooney Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Was there a huge rush at the store you went to? In my state, someone got shot over one of these...
Lucandrake Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Man people are getting shot, fights are starting, and some workers fired for trying to buy a ps3 from their stores.

Private Biscuit Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Here it's going to be released on the three first months of 2007 and even if it will cost much more than in USA, many people will buy it on release day.
ken_cinder Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Wait........FTW. Are you telling me the 60GB PS3 DOESN'T come with HDMI cables? A flocking system Sony is pimping for 1080p so heavily, and they aren't supplying HDMI cables with the Premium package?I was under the impression the cables didn't come with the 20GB version, not the 60....... What a rip.
Smilee Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Congratulations on getting your ps3. People over here that have been waiting were selling their spots in line for like 400 USD.
Robert Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Violence throughout the US! SourceTwo armed thugs got wise to PS3’s $500-plus price and tried to rob a line of people waiting outside a Putnam, Conn., Wal-Mart store at 3 a.m. Michael Penkala of Webster, Mass., refused to give up his money and was shot, police said. He was in stable condition this afternoon at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester with “non-life threatening” injuries, said Connecticut State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance. Sony made only about 400,000 of the coveted consoles available for PS3’s debut, so some people camped out for days without knowing if they’d be going home empty-handed. In Boston, a crowd rushed the doors of Sony Style at 5 a.m. at the Copley Square Mall. Some people who had been waiting in line for hours in the rain lost their places amid the confusion. Elsewhere, mobs of customers stampeded into stores, injuring one man in Wisconsin and forcing authorities to shut down a Wal-Mart in California. Small supplies and high demand were feared to be a formula for trouble as the PS3 hit store shelves, a half-year late because of problems completing work on the console’s built-in, next-generation DVD player. Some customers were buying PS3’s for themselves or as gifts, but many were hoping to resell them at a profit. Units were fetching several thousand dollars early today at the eBay Inc. auction site. SourceNEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The debut of Sony's PlayStation 3 game console resulted in reports Friday of disorder outside stores throughout the United States, as well as a robbery attempt in Connecticut that left one man shot and wounded. Police in Putnam, Conn., said fans resisted two armed men in an attempted robbery outside of a Wal-Mart. According to Lt. J. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police, officers were called to the Wal-Mart at 3:15 a.m. ET after two armed men tried to rob people waiting in line to get the PS3 when the store opened. Vance told CNNMoney.com that about 15 to 20 people were outside the Wal-Mart (Charts) store when they were confronted by the robbers who demanded money. The lieutenant said one of the men in line was shot after he confronted the armed suspect. The robbers fled the scene after the incident. In a separate incident, the manager of a 24-hour Wal-Mart supercenter in Palmdale, Calif., shut the store and called the cops after crowds became unruly. Deputy sheriff Dan McPherson at Palmdale station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said about 50 to 100 people had gathered outside the store before midnight in the hopes of scoring a PS3. "We were called after the manager told us that these people were arguing and pushing each other," McPherson said. "We told them they had to leave the premises."
