Kenshinsama Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 I will admit that after reading my previous post my opinions do seem abit fanboyish. Im just being honest tho. I like the the ps and ps2. and even tho I dont liek alot of the franchised crap on it. It just sucks to hear a console get slamed for trying to be different. psp imo is a weaker system to the GBA and DS just because of the fact that they both have GOOD games. yeah your psp can play movies, apps and all that jive. but so can a decent PC, DVD player, VCR, etc. call me a fanboy all you want. Im just sayin what everyone else who knows gaming is thinking.
Lucandrake Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 The only reason I have a psp is for emu's, music, and vids. I only bought one psp game in my life. That was MGAC!D which is probably the only good game out there next to Lumines (which is not worth buying it's addictive but not $40 addictive) and SFA3 (which if you don't have friends with psp's and sfa3 in them will get boring fast!). So Kenshinsama is right, even the fan boys down here are starting to bash the psp because of it's lack of games.

SFA3 for psp. havent had a chance to play my firends(its the only game he bought lol) the system has the potential to blow everything out of the water with its hardware. but if that was the case with anything MS would be winning the console war:P mind you I plan on getting a psp for some japanese titles. if its backwards compatible...or if theres something that will let me play import UMDs.
fischju Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 you bumped this topic for seamingly no reason, and im not even gonna get into the fact that there is pda software homebrew because somebody will post that because they think they are smart
Samor Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Hey Thanks, now whoever is doing the emulators needs to hurry cause im getting tired of playing Castlevania on my DS i'd rather have full screen.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> odd, but... ok
Samor Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 It dawned me, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is the only game worth playing for the DS right, IMO at least. It's a direct sequel to Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow for the GBA which was soooo kickass. I have high hopes for it and enough cash to buy a DS, but I prefer a PSP. So I could just wait for the emolators to start working kekeke. Like other then this game, why is the DS worth buying over the PSP? PSP will kick ass too much I think.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> if you like gimmicky odd weirdass japanese games, the DS has an advantage....and it's cheaper. actually, they both have their ups and downs.I have a DS; it makes for a nice difference when one already has a ps2; and of course, the homebrew is nice, but so is it on psp.
Mooney Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Just so you all know, DeSmuME does play commercial games. It plays Polarium (In French ) smoothly, but there is no sound. I also got it to play Wario Ware: Touched! but no sound and some bad graphics glitches... So while perfect DS emulation is still far, far away, there is hope for the masses.
teo95gr Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 And you wont get full screen on the emulators either. It's just a small window.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>But a cool small window.(Yes, I quote October's posts in April)
Saq Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Hey Thanks, now whoever is doing the emulators needs to hurry cause im getting tired of playing Castlevania on my DS i'd rather have full screen.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>hmm i know what you mean. It sucks using a tiny screen to play games on. I find Kirby Canvas Curse harder to play too because the screen is tiny.
Elazul Yagami Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 you do realize that a game that Needs touchscreen functonality (like Castlevania) might not work on small screen right? and btw there's hardware for the Ds to make it play music, and movies and emus and such, as well as free updates going to be released by nintendo giving it pda functionality.,
Mooney Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 No emulators play commercial roms yet. None of them at all.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I have said this before: DeSmuME does play 'Polarium' (the French version at least) glitch free, but no sound. It also plays the intro to 'Wario Ware: Touched!' but nothing else.
ssj9vegeto0 Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 (edited) may be an old topic, but i wanna point out that NDS is already cheap, and the cheapest games are 35 dollars! if u cant afford that you are ana:hoboor b:hobo that has a house and a family and a tv and some games but apparently cant afford a DS. PS:be patient for NDS emu if you are one of the above, dont complain, eventually you will get it free. Edited August 11, 2006 by ssj9vegeto0
hatt3r Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Downloaded Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow for NDS but can't find an emulator out there to play it, does anybody know if there is one that plays the actual DS roms instead of just playing PD roms. Im not asking for anything just a little heads up. yes if you have soul seek you can get it off of me but i dont know the link to the web site or if you have e-mail i could e-mail it to you but if soul seek is the case then my name is guyfox and im most likely in the gothic chat room and you can find it in the sk ul nds zip folder under no$gbahopfully this helps you
