Is there an english version of this movie? All ive been able to find is the version with subtitles. Subtitles tend to ruin jokes so id prefer an english one.

 

If not, then i guess its subtitles for me!

it was recently released on dvd and umd here so I would guess they are dubbed. I keep meening to grab it but I never do.

Trust me, the subtitled version is better, at least it was with Shaolin Soccer. The english version of that movie sucked big time.

I have to agree, and I've seen both versions. Dubbing *usually* rapes a movie, just ask any sane person who's been in a movie theater in Germany.

I'd say that bad dubbing can ruin jokes worse than subtitles. Most dubbers can't do the nuances or timing required of jokes.

subtitle/culture notes should be given before a presentation with subtitles IMO

I didn't really think Kung Fu Hustle was super funny when I saw it (subbed), and I refuse to watch anything foreign dubbed.

The one you need to get is the asian english subtitled one, some of the jokes are somewhat translated to better way folks.

it's all about subtitles. i watch a lot of asian films

yeah I 99% of the time prefer subtitles, but usually its alot funnier to hear something than to read it, as 80% of all humour is all in the delivery

watch out for bootlegs though, those sometimes have Engrish subs.

I love when people encode in Dual Audio+subtitles format

 

sooooo convenient. I have an awesome torrent with all the hellsing eps like that + both STs+ DVD covers+some pictures+some other things i think like that and its awesome.

 

I wonder if theres a kung fu hustle like that, that would be convenient.

 

But i already started downloading the one with subs.
