Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 no seriously dudes I strongly recommend trillian, it's the works in messengers.weirdy you prolly used a beta trillian years ago, and the fact that it unblocked all yer blocked ppl is simply bcuz the blocking isn't stored on the account it's stored in the messenger options you set for msn. trillian couldn't have know what options you set for msn trillian also has alot of emotes and sounds for each emote and skins are being developed for it, aim and yahoo aren't skin compatible, also you can add new plugins and stuff and you can have different ppl use it since it can have different profiles, and it looks awesome. did I mention all your contacts can be tabbed in one window?plus they add new messenger services after they test it and stuff. prolly gonna have teamspeak and hi5 soon
OverlordMondo Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I just downloaded Trillian. It's a major improvement! Every messenger in one! The "no substitute" kind of great! AIM without AIM's problems, and a whole lot of extras.
i l l m a t i c Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Havent tried da other messengers, but I use AIM w/ DeadAIM
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 see, agozer uses it. pro version here too. there's a torrent for the pro version over at torrentspy or thepiratebay dun remeber. ya hafta buy pro but the torrent has a patch
someboddy Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Can anyone explain me how to use IRC with trillian?
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 what's the problem exactly?make a new connection, then choose server and nick. if you want to use gamesurge don't put a username yet, register on gsurge first.
Daeval Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I use just plain old AIM w/deadAIM. All my friends use AIM, so there's no point in registering for all the others for me. I long for the heyday of ICQ, before AOL bought it and it became bloatware. ICQ used to be a mean, streamlined little thing, but now it's all hideous. I miss offline messaging. Stupid AOL. I want mozilla to make a messenger with the same principles they used with Firefox. Something with a really tiny footprint, a really simple, but fully functional interface, and perfect plugin implementation.
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 dude dump that aol client and get trillian, it works. I know I did the aim client is the sux. as for icq I think it sucks cuz of the numbahz but I dunno...
Gryph Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 If you want a nice IM client then I suggest you try out GAIM. It looks plain but it's quite flexible. Ever since ICQ quit working on Trillian (I even updated and that didn't fix it) I use that for ICQ. The best part is that if other people you know use it, you can use some hardcore encryption.
Sturmvogel Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 Just started using MSN...better than AOL but I don't chat much so.....it would be better to just be parked in the IRC channel and use trillian Robbbert. I'm gonna give Trillian a go though...I only use MSN since alot of ppl use it and I chat with my sis at work.
