    HBMAME 0.245.12

HBMAME 0.245.12 has been released. https://hbmame.1emulation.com/ In HBMAMEUI, the History tab has been updated. The supported dat files are: - history.xml - mameinfo.dat - command.dat - gameinit.dat Support of the following has been dropped: - history.dat (no longer updated by the official site) - marp.dat (not updated for 7 years) - story.dat (not updated for 7 years) - sysinfo.dat (not updated for 7 years and not relevant) - messinfo.dat (not relevant)
  2. The above problems has been fixed. Also, MAMEUI has been adjusted to use history.xml, so the old history.dat will no longer be needed.
  3. There's 2 things I want to say here. 1. Since there's no dat files in existence that target HBMAME (even after all these years), the History tab in HBMAMEUI will be removed, hopefully in the next release. 2. There's lots of useless-looking old hacks for King of Fighters (various), Metal Slug (various), Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Captain Commando, The Punisher, Street Fighter II, Warriors of Fate/Sangokushi II/Tenchi wo Kurai II, Knights of Valor (various), and Oriental Legend (various). Nobody knows what the differences are, nobody knows how to activate any special moves or modes, and nobody even knows why they are included. So next year, these hacks will be removed, unless there's something you guys want to keep. I'll keep things which are obviously different, and also keep language translations. But you'll need to point out what else you want.
  4. One of the devs has included code that won't compile for GCC 10.1 (what MAMEUI needs). He's not interested in fixing it, so we'll see what happens.

    New Mess?

You can use MAMEUI Classic - it's pretty much the same thing, just with all of MAME's games included.

    New Mess?

Very much so. Nobody said anything in the 6 months after it was turned off, therefore I had to assume that noone used it. The compile space has been taken over for a new development project - so MESS/MESSUI are gone, dead and buried.

  15. You need to extract everything that's supplied. Doing just the exe means you miss out on improvements to software lists and to shaders, and probably other things too. Your ini files, cfg files and other transitory things are not affected.

  24. The usual ones are, as usual, on archive.org . The others are scattered about various homebrew places, and if you ask nicely at RR, I might be able to gather them for you.
  25. Yes, there's been some homebrew not available as normal roms, and the use of .neo files for homebrew seems to be increasing. It's not too hard to turn a neo file into normal roms, but i'd want to see what it looks like first. It also gives homebrew developers another avenue for testing before they make a release.
