yep, my filename is the same as the one that i opened from the hidef folder in coinops skin folder - backdrop-list.png-. the dimensions you talk about are for sd skins from what i understand, 720 backgrounds are sized at 1280 x 720 @72dpi. what should i try now bp..? thanks.

when i was saving my png file it said it was on no interlacing, so i tried it the other way with interlacing on, same problem -black background- what else can i try please? thanks.

i tried this out and made my own background screen but only get a black backdrop when i load up coinops. what am i doing wrong here please? the only different i can see from your file & the one i created is the file size, mine is about a 1mb png file - yours is smaller- i deleted all saves to make sure too. thanks

thanks. if i wanted to play around and make a new backgrond in coinops, do i just make a new backdrop-list.png screen and change it with your one? will that show on tv screen normal then? any help would be good.

I got round to trying inferno. just wanted to know though do the mame roms take longer to load up than before? my last version i was using was reignite v5 -or something like that to many versions to remeber-. and in that version i am sure the mame roms seemed to load a bit quicker. everything is going fine as it should otherwise. is the new gui going to be put in anytime soon? it would be good to have a bit more color in the background rather than just grey. thanks.

thanks for the reply. i will a have a go on it soon. i saw some examples you posted awhile back of a new looking gui, that looked good, with stret fighter backgrounds. also, is it easy to do a skin for this? i mean, a friend of mine was showing me some photoshop, and i would like to give it a go, might take ages thou.

haven't got round to trying it yet, but just wondering with the other cores that are running in this from other peoples emulators -md,snes,n64 etc- does coinops run those games any better than using the new madmab emus? i know they are all under the same hood in this one, but are those cores you are using from older builds of the other emus? did you manage to get the new gui you were talking about going yet?

Who can tell me what new arcade games are in this that weren't playable before?

it makes me laugh that bp, coinops, whatever (symbol?) is still getting all the attention he so wants & needs from all this. Thats why he keeps pushing those buttons when interest wanes... people bite back & feed his ego. There really is more to life than all this..

i know what you mean, i prefer to use Xport/Madmab emus for my setup too. for me, coinops (as mentioned above by nextel) means coin-operated arcade games, not console games. if coinops continues down the path of being a multi format launcher, a name change is definetly needed (imho).

I'm at my brothers house now, but if i remember right, you can set the screen size through the options menu.
