  1. Who me? Well, I didn't like what he said, for a start it was blatantly homophobic (what are we, 12, people? - "u r gay" "no u r gay" "u are uberfag lol" etc... that sh*t just doesn't belong here...(Griffinclaw, maybe you should listen to this as well, but I'm going to assume that your comments were a direct response to Frost's calling YOU gay). ) But I started feeling guilty about this whole thread...one of the things that attracted me to 1emulation.com was how NICE this forum is compared to, well, every other forum ever! Even with 2589 members (at this point), GameCop and the rest still manage to keep things civil, and the majority of members (or at least the ones that post regularly) here genuinely enjoy helping people out with their problems. I guess that gives me more justification to attack him as he definitely broke those rules, but maybe I've just let my guard down 'cause I'm sick.
  2. Yeah, it works for ZinC, but you'll need the bios for that as well, thats okay you oughta be able to get it at -Link removed. Read board rules.-
  3. I was gonna advocate a bit of peace here, but after I found out that this thread may be locked soon . This thread has been fun.I will admit things were said, and people may have gotten their feelings hurt, but it was all in the name of keeping this forum free of liars and false claims. I think we should keep this topic unlocked as an example of what will happen if you come on here posting bs. Oh and Frost, I have come to think that you perhaps genuinely believe that your friend has written this emulator. If so I suppose we seemed a bit harsh. But know that your 'friend' (and I will say he doesn't seem like much of a friend) has either a)plugged his dreamcast into his PC, or b. was playing SFAIII and you got genuinely confused. If it is the case that you honestly did think that your friend wrote this emulator I'd hate to think that you're gonna stop coming here because of this nastiness. but if you are lying, then use this as an example of what happens when you post bs like this on a serious emulation forum . <--he he, you got ninja'd. Also, in the 0.00001% chance that your friend HAS written a cps3 emulator, know that he is what is wrong with the emulation scene. I remember reading pages of info about before cps-2 emulation was cracked, and there was a genuine feeling that the "l33t" in the scene were playing cps2 games well before publically released emulators are available. It was actually a dig about a certain well known rom dumper (not the Guru). If this was true, it is against the "spirit of emulation". Admittedly, emulator writers would get sick of reading a thousand GIMME ROMS D00D posts a week, but anyone who would post anything such as asking for roms or bios's on official emulator message boards shouldn't (yet) be considered part of the emulation scene, and will prob get banned from those forums pretty quickly. Look how quickly dolphin got released, and conversely icarus has had 4 years without a single public release, and yet both of those emulators are well-known to emulation-fanatics, and further releases are eagerly anticipated, by people genuinely interested in seeing different hardware emulated on your pc, not just the "GIMME ROMS D00D" lam0rs. Anyone who is truly part of the "emulation scene" would regard something like cps3 emulation as important enough to share with the community, if for no other reason than the interest in furthering emulation progress. And if he truly were a friend, he'd at least give you the emulator (or is he maybe not doing that because he is LYING??? ) <ALTHOugh, i as with all of you DC++ users have probably found people sharing cps3/naomi roms. The excuse was always "people are collecting them now so they don't have to when the emulators come out, but perhaps there s been a cps3 emulator for ages, but only the "uber-l33t" know about it. Can someone say conspiracy? ....... > I'm sorry if this post was long and rambling and didn't make much sense, but I'm home from uni with the flu so i'm probably not making much sense at the moment.
  4. i really don't get whats up with that game. My brother borrowed it and I played the introductory missions. Ireckon the graphics are great and the control scheme is pretty good. But then I heard from my brothe r that in the later levels you have to fight zombies and stuff. Now, maybe its just me, but I've never seen zombies kicking up a fuss in LA in the news, I'm pretty sure they didn't take part in the la riots... what exactly is so "true crime"y about zombies?
  5. Well, I've never even HEARD of RDRAM! I may get the card so when my pc is upgraded it wil have a good card, but probably I'll save my pennies for a full upgrade. (it'll take a while!) Concerning that emulator benchmarking article, it was rather interesting, but i hardly think it was a fair test, considering A; they only used ePSXe, B; the graphics plugin was written by a dude with a Raedon 9700, c; they used a certain setting on the plugins for every test....all of us real emulation freaks know that every *advanced* emulator's settings will be tweaked differently for different people with different hardware...hell, I have to have different settings for different GAMES!
  6. You can change the font size of any font displayed in your explorer window. If you are using Internet Explorer, go to the toolbar ->tools --- internet options --- accessibiliy. then check the option called "ignore font sizes specified on wepages". Click on "apply" then (again in the toolbar) go to view --- font sizes and choose a new font size (from smallest to largest).
  7. Oh, okay. That makes sense. Another disasterous marketing ploy by Sega! No wonder they got out of the console market.
  8. I don't understand...why would certain dc controllers have rumble but not any of the official ones? Surely Sega would have had to program rumbling into their games, and why would they bother doing that if it encouraged people to buy controllers that they didn't make - effectively cutting a chunk out of their profits.
  9. I've been thinking about this, and how true is it really? I mean to say, I've seen Genisis/SNES emulators with "2xsai" graphics filters, and I've never found a megadrive/snes game that isn't supported by any emulators. I will admit, the success of PSX emulation is amazing, especially considering the current state of emulation of similarly-aged consoles (Saturn/Dreamcast). I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the ps2 runs a playstation emulator, rather than having "true" backwards compatability?
  10. In Daggerfall, the precursor to morrowind, if you stole paintings from a certain shop for long enough, you'd eventually get some paintings of naked women. One thing that disappointed me about morrowind was that there was no longer any superfluous nudity (straight out of the box, at least), when there was HEAPS in Daggerfall!
  11. Fosters sucks, well admittedly not as much as VB. And don't get me STARTED on XXXX! (why do Queenslanders have a beer called XXXX? Coz they can't spell BEER! - classic Australian joke!) Carlton Draft! That's the best of the "cheap" beers!
  12. What the heck is a broom hair? Okay, we'll be sure not to call you a lair. Alright, I'm sorry about that, I always think it's cruel when people on the 'net make fun of mistakes by people whose English isn't their first language. But broom hair? That was just too much to resist!
  13. Nice family guy reference, griffinclaw! Okay, fair enough. but man it is rather frustrating - I dont wantto buy the parts seperarely, cos by tnhe time I can put a PC together, the parts I bought earlier would be obsolete! Oh fell, thanks for the advice everyone.
  14. Okay, the thing is I want to upgrade my PC. But I can't afford to upgrade it from a P3 to a P4 as that would require getting new RAM, a new motherboard AND a new CPU. So I'm thinking I'd like to get a really fancy graphics card instead. I have my eye on an ATI radeon 9600XT. But I know little about computers, so my question is, is it worth putting a top-of-the-range-ish graphics card into an old P3 (733Mhz w/ 256 megs of RAM)? I am thinking mainly of emulators - would I get vastly improved performance to justify the cost? Also, I only have SDRAM and in the product description it says "supports 128/256megs DDRAM". Does that mean I need DDRAM for the card to work? Also a friend of mine (who talks out of his arse alot) says that the card might melt if I put it in this PC. Is this true? Any input would be appreciated.
  15. Nope, looks like that news was bull**** as well. I mean....as well !
  16. Wasn't it Ash in Evil Dead 3 who said that? Oh yeah, good point. But it was written in large print on the inlay of the box for the Evil Dead PC game. That's where I saw it, I remember now.
  17. Yeah, sorry about that, I ruined a perfectly good circus thread (good for clowning around).
  18. Duke 3D. Although I suppose the phallic symbols weren't so hidden! (the best *read:rudest* one I've seen in any Duke game is in zero hour where there is a bathroom/shower showroom called "golden rain". I bet you 3DR wanted to call it "golden showers" but nintendo didn't let them!) Also, was it Doom which came up with the line "suck my boom-stick"? There's that dude in thrill kill that ass-rapes you as one of his grab moves - again, not so hidden. I guess they just don't bother hiding the messages!
  19. Yeah, I love the BHC theme so much that I learned how to play it on my bass! Its one funky themesong.
  20. Lokks like it doesn't even matter anymore as there is an (admittedly unconfirmed) rumour that a special version of Nebula will come out that supports cps3 emulation. Details are in current affairs.
  21. Why did they choose San Andreas for the next GTA title? I can only think of one thing - EARTHQUAKES!
  22. They CAN'T remake astro-boy! Not unless Osamu Tezuka's writing it! It would be sacrilige
  23. ...except Fox would call them "icicle-based projectiles" (and probably put "shoulder-holsted missile launcher" in there a few times for good measure!)
  24. Yes, I finally have a chance to biatch about those bloody McDonalds adds - these probably only show in Australia but i know there are a fair few Aussies on this forum. Okay, Aussies, the ads I'm talking about are those bloody ones where the investigative journalist barges his way into the kitchen and he's like, "now we get to see what they REALLY put in a McDonalds hamburger." then he sees an egg, and he picks it up and he says, "whats this?" to which the burger slave chick (and she ISN'T 15! how unrealistic is that for a start?) says "its a fresh egg". Then the reporter dude says, oh yeah, are you sure it isn't powdered? and slams it on his head, and surprise surprise its an egg. Then the burger slave says, "when hens start laying powdered eggs we'll start using them". GGGGGGGGGGr, that add pisses me off. come to think of it all the bloody McDonalds adds piss me off. Like, have you noticed that they've finally noticed that no-one in this country calls McDonalds McDonalds, its Maccas to us. So now they're putting people saying 'macceerrrrs!' on the ad, so we're supposed to think, wow, they know our linguo, that MUST make them cool! I wouldn't mind so much if McDonalds didn't suck so much, I mean I can tolerate those dreadful Subway ads but that's because Subway is tasty. By the way, just so everyone knows, "McDonalds" was the name of a popular burger-bar that Ray Krock (the founder of McDonalds) bought the naming rights to, presumably because if the fast-food chain was called "Krock's" everyone would realise what a Krock of Sh** the food really is!
