  1. It sounds like a good cause but I'm a bit paranoid about the security risk. Plus I don't think my firewall'd like that program very much.
  2. Damn, maybe you should get that fish looked at by a specialist, my ant-farm just emulated the Naomi 2. But the screen in their colony's so small I can't play it
  3. yeah, good point actually, although if you ask me DNF is going to kick Doom 3s ass, and will probably be better than hl2. But hey most people probably won't agree with me so its better delayed (but hopefully not TOO long dammit, and if I see another Duke Nukem game come out before DNF, I am going to be ANNOYED.
  4. I stop hanging around here for about a month, and looky what I miss. Hopefully this moron can land himself in a federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison. Good detective work, GC! he, that was funny. you sure pwn3d him!
  5. If you read his post, he already uses adaware and spybot. A far better anti-spyware program is "Webroot Spysweeper". One of the advantages to this program is that it scans every file in your hard drive searching for spyware traces not just the "temporary internet files" etc... etc... So that means that it finds spyware that installs itself to your windows directory as a program, for example, which happened to me before I got spysweeper, and is probably what has happened here. However, I don't know if spysweeper is free, but hopefully you can at least get a demo. A good idea is to press control-alt-delete then check all the processes that are running and see if they are all meant to be there. When I was tackling some nasty spyware that kept reinstalling itself I did that by just typing every entry into google and seeing if it was a legitimate process. That way I got rid of the problem. I hope this helps.
  6. I don't know about trusting the security of my pc to a guy who calls himself "Dudez"
  7. I know Duke Nukem Forever won't 3DR has already announced that it won't be out this year. GriffinKlaw, nice going on the 4.0. I just had an exam today that was nasty. One hour for 40 questions, 36 multiple choice and 4 short-answer. Now that may not seem that bad (and I guess it wasn't seeing as I finished 10 minutes early), but assuming you want 1 minute for each multiple-choice question, that leaves six minutes for each short answer question, which just isn't enough time to answer questions like "explain the fundamental differences between Piaget's and Vygotsky's theories of development" or "briefly describe the "strange situation" test and the types of attachment it proports to predict."
  8. It probably is spyware but maybe even though those programs remove it, it may have added a program so that it reinstalls itself every time you turn on (or at certain times). Check which programs, etc... are run when your computer is started up.
  9. The prick wanted his site to be #1, but I don't think he'll be allowed to operate his website where HE'S going! Even if the cops do nothing, he'll probably lose his isp, and once news of this gets out if his site STILL managed to survive, it'll be drilled full of holes by the people he hurt (who probably know more about programming and HTML than he does) out for revenge.
  10. Since the down-time, I've been curious as to how many people are here on a regular basis. Sure there are approaching 3000 registered members, but how many people actually post here? And how much?
  11. Okay, to a hacking illiterate (ie in plain English), WHAT did he do exactly? ...and what an idiot to have done this to (and with) 1emulation when he's already posted his name on this message board!
  12. I have found out about two things that have happened during 1emulation's absense that are important forthe emulation scene: one good one bad. I'll start with the bad-news first. Nintendo has won a landmark court battle which effectively makes any handheld Nintendo emulator (gb, gbc, gba) illegal. they have done this by patenting handheld emulation, or something. There's a small story here. On the good news front, PCSX2 v0.6 has been released! Apparently a handfull of games now reach ingame.
  13. There's no default page here anymore. I couldn't get in for a while because I was trying the link http://www.1emulation.com. there's nothing there only at 1emulation.com/forums. Edit: no, I take that back. It seems to be all good now.
  14. oh man, this is the first thread I had to check once i finally found a way back in. dammit, its shortened, but that can be an opportunity to send it in new directions!
  15. It would never happen because crocks are freshwater creatures and live in rivers and streams and sharks are saltwater creatures and live in the ocean.
  16. Justin Frankel? Whoa. Yeah, here's the Rolling Stone article about him. The World's Most Dangerous Geek Ha ha ha, he got his xbox to say seXbox!
  17. Once Bush loses this election, he'll be the only president who'se never won an election!
  18. Well what about Waco, TX? The FBI massacred a whole bunch of people, including children, and then tried to blame it on the cult leader. Tens of thousands of civilians got killed in Iraq, and are still getting killed, in the name of an unjust war. But what I want to know is how can Gecensor-boy justify picking sides in the ugliest and most historical conflict of all times, and that is the Israel and Palestine conflict. And what do you guys (the US) have against the United Nations? As far as I'm concerned, the UN is the only sane voice in the whole madhouse that is international politics. I'll be interested to hear what SENSIBLE Americans (no fundamentalist extremists please) have to say about the UN?
  19. This has to be one of the longest non-stickied threads I've seen in this whole forum in the 3 months I've been here... also one of the most pointless (but the most fun!) Someone should make a flash-game called "Indiana Jones - Raiders of the Lost Broom Hair Statue" and put it in the arcade section! Then no-one who hasn't seen this thread will have any idea what we're talking about - it'll be the perfect in joke!
  20. Exactly... Did anyone else notice that this thread and the one about the attack on the file-sharing community appeared at about the same time? it looks like big business is really going all out to combat piracy. Oh well, my prediction is that it will cost them a pretty penny, and the idea will flop so badly it will not be heard of six months from now, so its not such a bad thing after all.
  21. I'll never understand why napster seems to get shutdown every time it re surfaces, but programs like Imesh seem never to be targeted and even come bundled with spyware and has "legitimate downloads" of for example demos and sample songs. Also you'd think the spyware companies would have enough on their plates being worried about getting rrested for these new spam-related laws that they didn't want to be seen to support "illegal file sharing."
  22. I got it from some website or other.
