On Nov. 16th Valve will turn on the authentication servers so people can actually play the game but people who have already bought the game are pissed because they can't play it. Valve wants to unlock it but Vivendi isn't letting them.

512 isn't really enough for rigorous 3D work as Agozer said. You should invest in some more RAM whenever you get a chance. Close any unnecessary programs you have running the background when you are doing stuff like this. One thing you could do is increase your System Page File. This card is the minimum for Doom 3. You should be able to run both Halo and UT2K4 somewhat decently, but at low settings.
