I'm going to go ahead and move this to the MAME section. James might be able to help you out with this. Try installing another copy of MAME to different directory and see if it gives the same speed problem.

I have an Athlon XP 3200+ with a Thermaltake Silent Boost. I have 4 fans in my case (2 in front, 2 in back) and my temps never go over 50. My CPU is also always at 100% load.

On Nov. 16th Valve will turn on the authentication servers so people can actually play the game but people who have already bought the game are pissed because they can't play it.
