  1. The problem with PCs. #1 The sooner you buy, the more stuff you miss out on. #2 The longer you wait, the cheaper stuff gets, but the more you miss out on gaming in general. I'm trying to wait until fall before I build a new one for me. I want a BTX mobo and PCI-X in mines.
  2. Pentiums are always clocked higher and people are like "OH MY GOD! IT's 3.4GHZ! IT MUST BE FASTER!" Which is untrue. AMD's are not clocked as high at Pentiums, but preform faster. The whole clockspeed is very misleading. And why you picked Cyrix? I dunno, that thing sucks. I'd put it on a sucky level with the Celeron core.
  3. Personally, I'd wait till the KOF2003 CD comes out. The CD versions are always sweeter then the aged MVS cart's music.
  4. You get the Xbox version from the usual place. Efnet, #xbins via FTP client. You still must have download the PC version though to play it. Alternatively, you can get it off a newgroups and it's all bundled together, alt.binaries.cd.image.xbox
  5. I'll tell you why, because Ryo and Robert are sorta similar, but SNK favors Ryo because he's a lead person. It's like Ryu and Ken with Capcom. They'll put Ryu in a game before Ken, because they favor Ryu. There are more distinct difference between Ryo and Robert then Ryu and Ken, but that's how companies are. Personally, I love Robert way more then Ryo. He's slick and his viration of moves to me is better then Ryo's.
  6. AMD 64's definately. The Intel Prescotts as of right now suck, but they might be better later. The Pentium4's initial release sucked too, then we got the 478 core and they got way better.
  7. Well, Mai is married to Andy, so you wouldn't be able to tap that ass. Maybe you could tap Athena's or Yuri's ass. I'd catch Rugal on a good day and ask if he's train me in his martial art. On a good day, maybe he wouldn't kill. So, that would be tricky. I beat Kyo would be fun to hang out with.
  8. Hey! Thanks!! I've been looking for that game for a while! I had so much fun playing that game on the SNES back in the day!
  9. There's a difference. The N-Gage never had a future, the PSP has one.
  10. Rocket Knight Adventures was a cool game, but the SNES version was way better! More levels, more bosses, better controllings, brighter colors, and it was all around goodness. I forget what it's called though because it had a different name. Does anybody remember it's name?
  11. SFA1 is when Ryu was at his strongest along with most characters. Then they get weakened later. Ryu's Dragon Punch was no joke in SFA1. As far as Street Fighter 3 goes, I have mixed opinions. You see my two favorite characters of Street Fighter 3 Alex and Sean. Alex is best in Street Fighter 3:Third Strike. Sean was best in Street Fighter 3:New Generations (they screwed him up so bad in Third Strike). Well, in Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Guile's Flash Kick was two hits, hehe. I guess Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Edition.
  12. I just hope that all the animations are atleast Garou level when Sammy takes control of KOF. Have you ever played Garou and just kept pausing the game when looking at Terry's Burning Fist? There's so much going on with after flashes, dust effects, and the whole movement. If they can bring that all over with tranparencies it will be totally mind blowing to watch. Who knows, maybe Sammy will give Terry back his Rising Tackle! Also, whoever thought up Terry's one super move ("Aaaare you okay?") is a damn genious. That move is so cool! It's only given proper justice when done in Garou, SvC and KOF2003 sorta toned down the animation with it.
  13. When I saw pics of Terry from Garou I thought to myself "HOLY CRAP! KOF2003 is going to be using the Garou animation method!" That was my immediate impression, but obviously I was wrong. Oh well, I can still dream can't I? Yeah, Garou Terry sucks in KOF2003. He doesn't have nearly as much animations as he did in Garou, plus he's drawn incorrectly. When he has his coat on he looks sorta skinny, then when he takes it off he looks very muscular. His muscle tone isn't show at all through his coat.
  14. Wow! I haven't heard that name in a long time. I think they ported the Art of Fightings to SNES. That's the last I heard of them. Until now.
  15. Ahh, didn't know that about SFEX. I guess it makes sense because some of the characters on there seemed a little too far fetched for Capcom (Skullmania anybody). I too hope that the game doesn't turn too anime. I hate anime in video games, there's too much of it. I mean, I like to watch it, but now it's too mainstream. It seems like every game has to have some anime influence now. I hate it. I prefer people to have their own artist style.
  16. Capcom has said their last fighter will be Street Fighter 4, which is in production now. Of course since it's Capcom it'll probably have 320x200 sprites, 3 moves per character, and new characters added who are rehases of older characters. SNK uses the MVS board so their limited by that. Capcom on the other hand can do whatever it wants to, but it chooses not to do anything new. Well, there was the horrible Street Fighter EX series. Hopefully with Sammy, the next SNK fighter will not only have killer music, but nice transparencies with hi-res sprites.
  17. I never liked Rage of the Dragons. It seemed like to me it had a half assed combo system and the rushes I thought were highly stupid. I enjoyed Martimelee alot more! Sometimes I just can't help but laugh when playing Martimelee becaues it doesn't take itself seriously at all.
  18. Yeap. The sprites Capcom have been using for him are from his Street Fighter Alpha 3 incaration. Well, he actually only made it for the home consoles versions of PSX, Sega Saturn, and later Dreamcast. As well did Fei Long and others. He wasn't in the arcade version. Still, he was in there. Pick up SFA3 for any home console and you can play with him. They also put DeeJay, T.Hawk, FeiLong, and some others in there.
  19. I'm sorry, but Capcom is lazy. They're always fixing up people like Ryu and Ken, but what about other people? Like me, my favorite character in Street Fighter has always been Guile. What have they done with Guile? He had a sprite in Street Fighter 2 and they've stuck with that sprite until Street Fighter Alpha 3! Then they've stuck with that same sprite till this day! Then SNK gave him a new sprite for SvC thank goodness. What SNK mostly does is include new animations. As characters are given new moves, they include new animations for an opposing character getting hit. Also, play the entire King of Fighters series and you'll notice that Robert Garcia has gone through about 3 different stances. He isn't the only person to go through such changes. Another point is that SNK is WAY more creative about their gameplay! Look at a character like Kim Wu, Goenitz, or Rock Howard and tell me would Capcom ever make a character like them? Would Capcom ever make some character that engulfs his hand in flames and does some from of attack with it? Never! SNK is also always known for their impressive eye candy of supers (even though they're always nearly impossible to do except in Garou). SNK has way more style in their games and with their characters. Capcom games are also character with a limited amount of moves and they all play the same. SNK games the character will have a huge list of moves and they all play drastically different! Capcom is so shallow. Ryu's specials moves are Fireball, Hurricane Kick, and Dragon punch. Terry Bogard is Power Wave (with two variations), Burn Knuckle, Rising Tackle (they keep frequen stripping him of this move), Power Dunk, Crack Shoot, and Power Charge. SNK all the way.
  20. When I was big into DC emulation, SNES emulator ran SLOW! It was rare to have a game running at 100%. If you really want to play SNES on a console, just buy a PS2 or Xbox (mines has like every SNES game created on it's HDD). PSone is too underpowered.
  21. I'm not a fan of Mame either. I dunno, it just seems strange to me. I'd rather have it playing in kawaks or even Nebula.
  22. Funny part is that I haven't really heard much about the Atomisware. Has any screens of what it can do be shown? That isn't what the new Guilty Gear game is running off of (4-player one) is it? KOF has style, but they really gotta upgrade with the times. KOF2003, I mean has a TON of animation in it, but with transparencies the chi moves would look so much sweet. That's one thing I always loved about SNK fighters, SNK is more creative then Capcom. You would never see a Capcom fighter with a charcter's who's hand englufs in flames and he uses his hand for some form of attack. I totally agree with the arcade comment above. That's how it is in my arcade now. The only SNK game they got in there is Metal Slug 2 and Rage of the Dragons, and we all know about the extremely quality of a fighter RotD is.
  23. Shouldn't Playmore/SNK say to themselves "Hmmm, maybe it's time for a new arcade board." Dump the damn NeoGeo MVS carts because they're too easy to pirate. A new board would be cool. Maybe they could have some transparencies going on have anti-aliasing included right away, some stuff that their current board lacks. Or, they could have CD quality music right from the get go. They really need to dump their damn old easy to pirate NeoGeo and move on or the same things will keep happening! Besides, it's not like they're making any money off KOF2003 outside thier arcade department (which arcades are basically dead now a days) anyhow. Mistakes were made with the NeoGeo CD, but Playmore/SNK has the ability to learn from thier past mistakes and do better!
  24. It's hard to say, each one had there good points and bad points. I would say Street Fighter 3:Third Strike in a heart beat, but they totally screwed up Sean in that one. To me, probably Street Fighter Alpha 3, Fei Long is the man.
