  1. Maybe he didn't know what to do with his coins when his arcade emulator said "insert coin"
  2. I think what's important is the uncompressed size (about 90 megs for kof2003), not the zipped one; please correct me if I'm wrong. If you already have Linux on your XBox, why not just use XMame (mame's port to *nix systems)? This would not eliminate the memory issue, but at least it would be a soulution to the performance one.
  3. In the "I don't think anyone SANE has ever beaten this game" style, there's "Shadow of the beast" on Genesis. This game is sooo hard! And without a save system. I managed to end this game with a friend, but we definitely had to use the emulator's save state function. Really a great game! I recommend it to anyone who likes gaming challenges
  4. Arcade Controls is a very complete and very good (except the nationalist crap on the homepage ) site concerning home-made cabinets. I've also heard many good things about Happ Controls for arcade joysticks, buttons, and interfaces to a PC.
  5. That's right, you can get very high speed on kazaa if you get the right source. But if you don't... That's where bittorrent is good: you're connected to many people at once. Not comparable with edonkey though, where you have to wait for someone to send you the file: there everyone downloads and uploads the same file. Try checking your upload speed (it is linked to your dl speed). And remember: P2P has always a part of hazard (any P2P program).
  6. Indeed, and a "recommending a P4" is just nasty. Sure, everyone has lots and lots of cash handy just to upgrade their computer...
  7. Uh? I usually download at about 30 or 40 KB/s on bittorrent (much much more than on any other P2P programs I've tried)... One thing to keep in mind about bittorrent: your dl speed is proportionnal to your upload speed
  8. OK, I hadn't seen this post. Well, well, well... I guess it's hopeless Tidus, instead of an emulator, consider beginning with a "HelloWorld" type program (a program whose only purpose is to write "HelloWorld" on screen, or even only on a console)
  9. Tidus wants to make an emulator. And no, he has no programming experience, why would he ask what's C++? P.S. No offence to Tidus. I thought maybe he doesn't know this compiler but knows a bit of programming Anyway, writing an emu without any programming experience is... well, if you really don't know anything about programming as Agozer thinks, good luck I'd still like to know from Tidus himself if he has or not programming experience and what his project is
  10. Who was not a wannabe before knowing something? In any domain? No need to get angry because someone is asking infos... Did you see what Alexis is before saying such a thing? Anyway, you're still right, hacking is what made all this possible... as it made emulation possible
  11. Tidus, do you already have a big programming experience? What do you want to program with it? I don't have much programming experience myself but if it's an interesting project I may try to help (within the limits of what I can do of course)
  12. Astalavista is well-known for its cracks and serials, but they have also many up-to-date informations concerning hacking.
  13. And try unraring it with the latest version of Winrar (3.30 I think).
  14. Yes I downloaded it from Suprnova. If you have broadband and get it slowly, try downloading it with bittorrent. The torrent file is at 27/01 (yesterday). link removed
  15. I've heard the same rumor, it was denied somewhere, but I've seen no evidence that Razoola and El Semi intend to stop or that they do not. Is it on one of these guys' website or is it really just a forum thing? And if it is, do we know where the original post is?
  16. Except Bush, the only one I've heard of is Howard Dean. He seems ok to me, but I don't know enough about him and his program. But I won't vote (in this poll ) because I only know who I wouldn't vote for if I was american: Bush Btw, universal suffrage is much better than your actual system (that's a personal opinion, but at least it's much more representative of the people's choice).
  17. Funny quizz, quite hard to tell between a split ear and a dead cow And yes, the background music really balances the rest
  18. Don't worry, once we'll have it, it'll spray FAST!
  19. 20$??? That's a good price to play Capcom vs Snk 2 and many other great games If I find one at this price I won't wait for a Dreamcast emulator after all Btw, I've heard Cvs2 is much better than CvS1. I've only played CvS2, and it rocks! SNK adaptations for Dreamcast were usually very good, so you should also try getting Garou: MOTW and the last KOF (not sure if it's 2001 or 2002).
  20. Before all the roms are out, there won't be much progress... And for emulating it, there are a few emulators floating around that supposedly already support it. We'll know if they really do once we'll have all the roms... About the "dudes" thing, as long as it's in english the characters would say the same thing if the programmers were from United States, Somalia or any other place in the world (And it's also meant to be sold in the US)
  21. Most likely it comes from here. Scanlines must have been added with photoshop, or any other software of the same kind.
