i ask you this: if space exploration is so important, why dont private corporations take up the task of spending the billions to explore outer space? not that it makes any kind of difference, but i just dont buy the moon landing crap. i dont buy this mars exploration bit either. not because i think that there is some kind of conspiracy, but because the only people who seem to think its of import are government employees. call me ignorant or crazy or whatever, but im not going to believe until i see a real purpose for any of it.

ati has extremely poor driver support, and on the whole, ive been rather indifferent about the radeon 9000 64mb i bought for my mame cabinet. however, i got it for less than $100 (60, i think), and for playing mame roms and neogeo games it works spectacularly. im not sure how much they cost, but if you want a good gaming card, go for the geforce4 ti 4200 or 4400 w/ 128mb ram. unless you plan on playing half life 2 at 1600X1200 resolution, one of those will give you all you'll need for a couple years. EDIT: as of right now on pricewatch.com the gf4 ti4800 is $129.00, the ti4200 128mb is $92.00, and the radeon 9000 64mb is $65.00

i find it funny that the RIAA is so unwilling to admit that sales were going down because the music they put out is just plain bad. i fail to see how downloading music illegally constitutes a lost sale when the person downloading wouldnt have bought the cd anyway. i was really hoping that all the lawsuit nonsense would cause the people of this country to run the corrupt corporation out of town like so many villans in bad spaghetti westerns. unfortunately, the scare tactics seem to have worked... of course, this is ground thats been covered over and over... i guess i just really wish that americans would stand up for themselves as consumers, instead of just buying whatever inane, incestious crap that advertising pumps into our brains. and dont get me started on the news media's fear-mongering....

You have to register to be able to access the forum. AND you have to post in their introduction thread if you want to be able to download attachments, at least, thats how i got it to work. i think its a pretty poor way to run a forum, if you ask me.
