so you think, but what most people fail to realize is that a modded xbox is an emulation station. it can emulate just about every classic console there is. it plays divx movies, mp3s, views pictures, runs linux... everything that a media center pc does for a FRACTION of the cost. plus, it doesnt use some top-heavy microsoft o/s that bogs everything down. all for around $200.... plus a mass-storage hdd.

what about every other countrys obsession with soccer? what i find almost hilarious about this whole situation is that we here in america are SO repressed by a moral majority. in europe, showing a breast on television is nothing new... so why is it that every media comment about this has called it "crass", "lewd", or some other ridiculous remark. people are all naked under their clothes, but because jesus says we should be ashamed of that fact, the world follows. who am i to argue with the jesus?

it depends on the type of girl. if you are going for the paris hilton, stereotypical runway model, then i'd say theres only a slim chance that one of us would even get a return glance. girls like that are worthless anyway. ive always liked the quiet, bookish girls. they generally have something intelligent to say, and notice things like intelligence rather than what brand of clothing youre wearing.

to build a single player pc joystick the way it needs to be built, it will cost you more than you'll pay even for a two-player x-arcade (i.e. over $100). trust me, i built a hacked joystick for my xbox, and more recently, a mame cabinet. you are looking at: $20 for a joystick and buttons from happ $50 for a keyboard encoder $10 for wood $5-10 in assorted hardware $5-10 for paint/stain/whatever and that doesnt include putting plexiglass under the buttons, and certainly not the pretty overlay that goes under that (those cost me $15 and $30, respectively). there are certainly ways to make the project cheaper, but like you said, they end up looks very "home made".

i have yet to meet a girl in real life who plays videogames (solitaire and bejewelled do not count). therefore these mythical gamer girls are no more real than 'unicorns' or 'egyptians'.

i just built a mame cabinet, its currently in the process of being painted. i'll post some pics when i get to one of my computers. in answer to your question tho, if you know what size tv or monitor you want to use, then design it yourself. i used the plans at www.doesyourroomsuck.com and modified them to suit my height and whatnot. i also decided that it wasnt necessary to have a marquee on it, so i chopped the top half of the cabinet off. its basically a tv stand with a nice control panel. to build the cabinet itself has costed me somewhere around $200, and that doesnt include the tv, joystick and buttons, or the pc in it. good luck bro, and post some pics to let me see your progress!

what did you expect? anytime something deviates from the norm, people get pissy and and start talking about "this one was better than this one..." or "the old ones were better". of course, if they make the same game over and over, people complain about THAT too. its a lose-lose situation. i, on the other hand, LOVE this game. tag matches are just what kof needed. its my new favorite neogeo game.
