  1. Who else thinks the character line up completely sucks. This game is the pinacle of Capcom not understanding their own back catalogue. This would be the perfect line up (keeping in mind that it’s supposed to be 2 definitive characters from their entire library of fighting games) SF1 – Ryu and Gen SF2 – Chun-Li and Vega (M.Bison) SF3 – Alex (the new main character) and Ibuki Warzard – Leo and Tessa SFA – Rose and Nash (Guile replacement) Vampire – Demitri and Jedah Rival Schools – Batsu and Natsu Star Gladiator – Hayato and June SFEX – Skullomania and C.Jack All-Stars – D.D. and Haggar (Zangief replacement as he is essential and people have been waiting for Haggar since SFA2) Cyberbots – Jin and Bao & Mao Power Stone - Fokker and Wang Tang Their entire concept doesn’t work. A random selection of street fighter’s and 4 characters from 2 other games – I am the biggest fan of Capcom ever, and I will NEVER buy this game. If it featured the character line-up I listed, there would be enough incentive for me to buy it as it shows things I haven’t seen before. But Capcom are damn good at selling me things I’m already sick of. This is the actual line-up from the Capcom 'geniuses' SF2 – Ryu and Guile SF3 – Chun-Li (Definitive SF2 character) and Yun (already seen in CvsS2 and that’s only why he’s in this, ridiculous) Warzard – Leo and Hauzer SFA – Sakura and Guy Vampire – Demitri and Felicia Secret Character – Ingrid (crazy)
  2. One more attrocious game down the pan. thank god for that. Serves the cretins who were making it right.
  3. Quake 1 & 2 were always better than Quake 3. At least you are realizing it now
  4. It sounds very bad. Just get Kaillera and play REAL games in mame or kawaks.
  5. [in reply to K dash] It isn't straight forward at all. I am admin that's why it's a problem. Why anyone on a home machine would choose to be anything but admin, I don't know.... It's because Windows XP Home is a complete and utter shambles when it comes to priveleges and access rights, just because Microsoft needed to reserve some stuff that only Professional can do. and actually I think it's to do with the fact that the morons where I bought my laptop formatted the drive in FAT32 not NTFS when they installed XP. I need to go in in safe mode and set some rights or some such but apparently it only lets you do it on an NTFS formatted drive. Poppycock.
  6. I tried a Lan game on Quake 1 and the laptop PC said "no communications available (or found)" while trying to set up a game or join one. On desktop PC, it would let me create a game, but there is no point as the laptop wouldn't recognise it. The laptop is the one with the bridged connection. (which I have enabled and it still doesn't make any difference)
  7. Does a serial cable connect through the 1394 adapter? If so, I only have this on my laptop. I guess that renders co-op Doom a non starter. oh well.
  8. one of the computers has a 1394 net adapter (which is automatically bridged when running windows xp network set up). However I clicked "let me choose the best settings" and have disabled the 1394 connection, using only the pci based ethernet adapter. could this be causing any problem, should it be bridged or does the fact that i disabled it render it a non-issue?
  9. I've been running a game perfectly for a long time. All of a sudden the game is coming up with an error message when attempting to start up. I have made NO changes that would have affected this since last running the game. The error message is as follows - Access Denied please login with adminstrator privileges and try again. Obviously I have full administrative privileges and always have done. What's happening? There are quite a few posts with the same problem on other technical forums but without any concrete answer. Does anyone on 1emu know what's going on? Is it to do with Safedisc and if so, is there any way to get around this? Thanks
  10. changing the IP address did not work Now that I can share files I thought it would be the simplest thing in the world. Why isn't it working?
  11. Thanks for the advice guys My dungeon keeper is an official copy (Dungeon Keeper Gold on EA's Collector label ) and I found out the solution myself but it is rather absurd (to me at least). I could have sworn that when I installed it aeons ago, I had a look at the game to make sure it worked on XP, but when I came to actually play it I encountered the disc error and as there was nothing about this anywhere on the 'net I assumed I must have been mistaken. Anyway, it turns out that putting the CD in a CD-RW drive was the problem. (I used to use my E drive until the tray started getting stuck) I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a try in this situation and lo and behold, it runs! Brilliant. Although the rotten rat b*stards at EA have removed all the Background Music from the Collector label release. I've heard that this played from the CD in older versions. Does anyone know how many background tracks there were in this game and is there anyway to get hold of them (I'd play them in a loop from Media Player if I had the swines!) Thanks a lot guys.
  12. Yeah, I thought it may have been something to do with the fact that the Quake III CD keys match on both PC's [even though QIII runs without the disc]. It says on the box both PC's need a copy of the game also, a few of my games may have different version numbers. However, to combat this I tried the UT2004 demo. (how can version number or copy protection apply to this demo?) Alas, it didn't work either, so something's going on somewhere....
  13. Does anyone know if there is a way to get a game to recognize that the CD is actually in the drive, when the game still keeps asking for it and won't continue? I'm on XP and I've been searching the Internet for weeks trying to found out if I can give the dozy thing a kick up the a$$ and at least get it to read the flaming CD. (It reads the CD at first and it's all installed properly, but it won't find it when I run the exe) The game I am desperate to play is 'Dungeon Keeper Gold'. help much appreciated, thanks.
  14. Tell me about tournaments for GOOD games. not Sam shodown 5, it's the worst sequel (and possibly the worst NeoGeo figthing game) ever. Playing the game makes me sick, playing competitively would push me over the edge. the game is terrible. Just imagine trying to "show off" using Genjuro with a badly redesigned head (with a curly barnet) and a hammer - Sankuro or whatever. URRRRRGGHHHHH!!! what a mess Samurai shodown 2 is best. Although I'm more of a Capcom lover.
  15. you don't need to use it from Command Prompt. Download Mame32 instead. then it works with a GUI perfectly
  16. I’m having trouble setting up a simple two player LAN deathmatch (Quake 3, Unreal Tournament 2003, doesn’t matter which game). I’m using 100mbit Ethernet network cards connected via a crossover cable. The computer’s can ping each other and files can be shared between them. The only problem is upon starting up a game on one computer the other one keeps coming up with ‘no servers found’. I thought it may have been something to do with my firewall but I’ve since uninstalled it and the problem remains – no matter which computer I host the game on the other states ‘no servers found’. I hope this is a simple problem and that someone here knows the answer. It took me ages to sort out a network connection for sharing files, now I’ve hit another brick wall. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  17. I tried turning the triple buffering option on and guess what? It fixed the scrolling problem in mame. Even in games like Shinobi (the worst culprit) it doesn't occur at all. Thanks Xeon for suggesting that!
  18. I uninstalled the card then installed the initial set of drivers that came with the card and it worked….sort of. As I suspected when I first decided to post about this problem the ‘shimmering’ effect when scrolling wasn’t as noticeable when I first bought my computer. But it is still there. It’s just as bad in certain games such as Shinobi, but no longer spoils the enjoyment of other games such as Marvel Super Heroes in the way that it did. So I’m “sort of” satisfied with it. Anyway thanks (GryphonKlaw and anyone else who contributed) for your help with this issue, I appreciate it. Also, the new drivers (that had obviously increased the severity of the problem) caused the icon I had assigned to the Recycle Bin to revert back to the default icon every time I started up and, the filenames when browsing were never in alphabetical order, but some stupid order that didn’t correspond to modified, filesize or anything else. This has now been restored to how it should be thanks to using the original drivers. Anyone know why this would be the case? It sounds completely bizarre to me.
  19. I'm pretty sure it's cool enough. The shimmering effect when scrolling is visible from right after start up. I'll try uninstalling the card and using the first set of drivers but I'm pretty sure it has always f*d up when scrolling.
  20. I downloaded the latest compatible drivers (56.72_winxp2k_english_whql) from nvidia site. I uninstalled all previous nvidia display drivers apart from nvidia WDM drivers (I don't know if that needs uninstalling or if it is automatically removed when uninstalling the others). I Restarted, then double-clicked the '56.72_winxp2k_english_whql.exe' and went through the installation process, restarted again and..... The problem is exactly the same. Would this have potentially fixed the problem or are there more steps I should have followed? Uninstalling anything else first for example?
  21. Are none of you listening? PAL roms are the same as the NTSL ones on handhelds!!! Anyway, I download US mostly because I don't have to bother with the language select screen. and I don't Download Japan roms unless they are only Japanese games or unavaliable in any other country at the time. so US ones
  22. Hi, I'm using Project 64 (obviously) and I would like to know where to download save game files from. I tried to look for a Goldeneye file that has all levels unlocked and cheats available (I've already done it before on N64, but can't be bothered to set the console up, rather play on PC). I tried Gamefaqs and got a file but don't know what to do with it.. Any Help?
  23. My friend said he played goldeneye in the same way as games like Halo. ie - using one analogue stick for walking and the other stick for looking around. I'm using a PlayStation controller and i cant get Project 64 to recognise the Right analogue stick. Is it a problem with the USB PS controller or was he just lying? Thanks
  24. Hey thunder in paradise, the crab avatar is from metal slug 3. Anyway, when is metal slug coming out officially for the GBA? I'm not that excited about it, seeing as i already own the arcades, but it might be fun to play through
