At the moment I've got 9.19GB of Mame roms. That's loads!! I still haven't got absolutely everything, but I'm pretty close!

It so happens that I'm downloading the CHD's for the Beatmania games now! You're problem is probably that the file name for the CHD's (something like this - 847jaa11.chd) is the wrong name. You wil have to rename the big CHD file (can't remember whether you only rename CHD folder or actual CHD file) to the same name as the ROM. If you have never used CHD's before, heres how to You will need WinRar. All you have to do is download all the parts of the CHD (there's about 4 parts to the first beatmania). Then you need to highlight all the parts and select "extract files..." and OK. This should combine all the parts into 1 CHD file. You can then delete all the parts and just keep the CHD. Remember to leave the CHD in the folder, and place the folder in the Roms directory. Hope that helped!!

Do you have the 70+ mb Mame kof2001, or the 40+ mb neo rom?

Hello there. The command line version of mame is crap. This link will send you to a hacked mame32 (Mame 32 0.77.1). This mame is the best available at the moment. It also runs the brand new game SNK vs Capcom. Download the first link (should be about 5mb). The GUI in mame is awesome. Don't worry about it being a hacked version, it runs every game perfectly. I should know, i've got about 95% of the roms (mahjong excluded). Send a post if the link has died (shouldn't have though).... Edited by GryphonKlaw

Never heard of the problem before My advice would be to use kawaks for every new NeoGeo game. I have never been a fan of NeorageX. The GUI and Sound in that emulator sucks. Sorry I can't solve your problem

I've got Mame32 0.77.1 (The one that runs SVC chaos). I've seen that it also runs rage of the dragons, kof2002, matrimelee and metal slug 4. I have the Neo Geo roms for the above 4 games but they don't work in mame when renamed (the checksums fail ). Is there anywhere to download the versions that work in the hacked mame? Or can I change the roms I have somehow?

Neo Rage X is not the best at all. The GUI is awkward, messy and limits options. The sound on ROTD for Neo Rage X is awful and I want all the main Neo Geo roms together in one emulator.

You obviously don't know your fighting games if you can't guess the differences between the games. what do you want to here? things you don't understand like Chivalry and Treachery. Just play them and found out for yourself.... And learn how to spell SHODOWN.

At the moment, I've got SVC chaos on Mame and all other new neo geo games on Kawaks. Except for Rage of the Dragons, which only works on NeoRageX. Is there any way to get ROTD working on Kawaks??

To press all 4 buttons simultaneously in kof and other fighting games, do this: follow the following example:- If you have Numpad 1 for A, Numpad 2 for B, Numpad 4 for C and Numpad 5 for D Then simply say P1 Button 1 = numpad 1 and numpad 3 P1 Button 2 = numpad 2 and numpad 3 P1 Button 3 = numpad 4 and numpad 3 P1 Button 4 = numpad 5 and numpad 3 Then press numpad 3 to activate all 4 buttons. Basically, you can use as many keys as you want for what ever combination you need. Its complicated, but I use 4 buttons for the individual attacks, 1 for A+B+C, 1 for B+C+D, 1 for A+B+C+D and one for B+C (for the strikers). If you don't know how to do this, you have to highlight the command (eg. p1 button 1) and press ENTER then numpad 1, then ENTER then numpad 3

Thanks. I looked over that section, but it's made up only of people who think it "sucks", which is not the case. It isn't the best fighting game ever, but it deserves to be discussed rather than dismissed. Which is what this topic was in aid of. But thanks Gamecop, it's through your help on these forums that I was able to emulate the game at all. Don't think I'm being disagreeable towards you or your suggestion...

So, SVC. I really like SVC but does anyone know whether it's a game by a developer that doesn't really know what they are doing (and with no real imagination or ability to push the genre forward) or a deliberate attempt at purposely going back-to-basics in order to portray fighting games as the pure format they once were? Even though I enjoy the game on the whole, I'm un-decided. Whatever your stance on the above though, I believe It's a far better game than either of the Capcom vs SNK titles, which I STRONGLY dislike.
