  1. kof2k3 didn't appear till late 2003 either. but doesn't matter, it's going to suck anyway. SNK's burning themselves out with way too many projects this year ( samsho5sp, kof:neowave, kof:mi, kof94:rebout, nbc etc)
  2. some lesser known but still enjoyable RPGs: brain lord live a live (translated) dragon view / drakkhen 2 shadowrun robotrek secret of the stars / aquatallion 7th saga / elnard paladin's quest / lennus earth bound / mother 2 dual orb 2 (translated) illusion of gaia / gaia fantasy madou monogatari (translated) shin megami tensei I and II (translated) spike mcfang equinox not really a RPG in the classic sense, but great strategy games nontheless: front mission (translated) langrisser (semi translated)
  3. Most of the ridiculously big combos are nothing more than auto-combos which doesn't take too much skill to pull off, taking away the satisfaction factor of actually pulling off one. eg. jago: flying kick, midkick, sword slash, heavy kick, midkick -> ultra ender. 6 motions for a 20++ hitter. wtf?? give me the "manual" jab punch -> SSRK anyday.
  4. 5. I think your sister can answer that one for me.
  6. - Molten swiss cheese and mushroom sauce a la Burger King's (Hungry Jacks for ozzies mushroom swiss. - lots of fresh tomatoes (but no ketchup!) - 2 large juicy 100% meat patties - onions - extra cheese - extra cheese
  7. Not to be anal, but it's Agressors of Dark Kombat not Combat. And it played more like a isometric World Heroes than AOF (whose only saving grace is the Yuri/King shirt tearing.)
  8. Yeah. SPCs were pretty awesome for their time. The only thing that the genesis beat the SNES on was CPU speed. SNES = Western Design Center 65816 3.58Mhz, Genesis = Motorola 68K 7.61 Mhz. but the great support hardware more than made up for that.
  9. Look carefully at the pix.The dithering in the genesis is extremely obvious, especially for digitised images (ie MK) due to lack of colours. Try setting your monitor to 16 colour mode and then to 256 colours and note the difference in quality. That's the sort of difference in capability of the 2 systems. In adddition, the SNES graphics hardware is capable of more effects like scaling/rotation (mode 7) and alpha blending.
  10. take a game that was on both systems and compare them side to side and then think about what u just said. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> haha yeah...there u go.. for example...street fighter 2: world warrior for snes, and street fighter 2: champion edition. perfect example of what my friend here jus sed...welcome blue <{POST_SNAPBACK}> MK2 (snes) http://www.vgmuseum.com/images/snes01/01/mk2.html MK2 (genesis) http://www.vgmuseum.com/pics/MK2.html MK3 (snes) http://www.vgmuseum.com/images/snes01/01/MK3.html MK3 (genesis) http://www.vgmuseum.com/pics/MK3.html Earthworm Jim 2 (snes) http://www.vgmuseum.com/pics2/ejim2.html Earthworm Jim 2 (genesis) http://www.vgmuseum.com/pics4/earthworm2.html Fatal Fury (snes) http://www.vgmuseum.com/images/snes01/01/fatalfurySNES.html Fatal Fury (genesis) http://www.vgmuseum.com/pics4/fatal.html Vision Test http://www.stlukeseye.com/eyeq/Vision.asp
  11. How exactly? The SNES is capable of displaying 256 simultaneous colours out of a possible palette of 65536. The Genesis is only capable of 16. Graphics tend to look more grainy and dithered on the Genesis than the SNES.
  12. SNES. Technically it beats the Genesis, no contest. Plus I'm a Japanese RPG nut. The Genesis/MD did have a few notable titles though (Sword of Vermillion, Traysia, Phantasy Star series, Warriors of the Eternal Sun, Lunar, Shadowrun).
  13. R-O-M-S. That's why the flock most of us signed up for this forum in the first place.
  14. You can use a linux livecd or floppy to zero out all the sectors on the disk, but I doubt that's the source of your problem. What I reckon is happening is that your machine gets infected the moment it goes online. Try installing the OS with the modem or network connection plugged out or disabled. Then install a firewall (hopefully you have an offline copy), otherwise enable the default XP firewall (it's crap, but better than nothing). Enable your network connection. Go download all the security patches (SP2 is highly recommended) and post-SP2 hotfixes and install then. Do NOT visit any other site other the official MS update site during this phase since the browser is highly broken and vulnerable at this point. Also, as mentioned before, avoid IE if you can. It's a ticking time bomb.
  15. I have to agree with LSD on this one. The old interface was pretty unique. Now the board looks like another of those 1921212115 other phpbb/invasion board clones. Bring it back, pls.
  16. That's highly unlikely. If you don't like this dark skin, you can switch to the Invision default one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How'd I do that?
  17. Hey James, can you create a compilation of your drivers not in the official MAME source tree and post them here? It would be great. Thx.
  18. Is there a way to change the background colours. Looks really awful IMO.
  19. Damn, that was the longest 10 minutes I've evert waited.
  20. For other consoles, yes. But for the Xbox, this is a load of BS. Of all the consoles, Xbox code is the most similar to Windows code. Access to hw acceleration is via DirectX on both systems, direct hw register programming is largely a thing of the past.
