  1. Anyone got this to work with NRX? I got my copy from bittorrent and renamed the files... 271-v1d.rom -> kof2003-v1.rom 271-c1d.rom -> kof2003-c1.rom and so on, then zipped the roms up as kof2003.zip which loads successfully on NRX H1, but it only shows some grid-like pattern and I/O test screens.
  2. I get random freezes when executing certain moves (most notably, Iori's qcf x4, AC follow-up and Zero's dp+K attack) on NRX H1.
  3. I think the password registration can be totally removed by replacing zlib.dll with a different version. I'm not quite sure. Anyone can verify?
  4. From the end user's point of view, it makes no difference whether the emulator's design supports drivers or not. Because either way requires an upgrade. Would SVC work on a version of mame/kawaks/nebula released last year? No, you had to get a recent version for the game to even show on the load list.
  5. NRX will work on any new release as long as the game does not use any hardware features it does not emulate. Try saying the same thing on the present version for those other emus in a year or two. They will not even show on the game list even if the software uses features that are fully emulated. Whether or not an emu is hacked or not is only an issue if you're a developer interested in the source code or internal design. End users could hardly bother.
  6. The reason why these emus are always updated is becos the game list is hard wired into the exe. The moment their authors stop supporting them, newer games cannot be supported without some hacking skills. NRX, on the other hand, allows the game list to be edited by the user. Sure, there are oddball games now and then that won't run, but the advantages outweight the disadvantages, IMO.
  7. Mame, kawaks, nebula etc. None of these come close to NRX when it comes to sheer performance. I can get very decent speed on an old P166 using NRX with sound.
  8. Hi, discovered this fantastic board while googling for SVC. Discovered emulation years ago when searching for stuff for my SNES copier (anyone still remember what these are?). Currently using NeoRageX, ZSnes and Gens. PM me if you like to trade stuff.
