  1. Not necessary. See if you can download older drivers from this page: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html It would appear, by default, that page isn't available. Trying 6 series drivers won't get you anywhere with a 7 series card, and besides, they use the same package.
  2. That's wierd. Did you try going with a previous driver revision? Nothing to say that they didn't screw something up in the latest. I can't run the latest Catalysts for instance, they cause my computer to crash spontaneously.
  3. What version of Windows are you running, and is the card a retail NvIdia or a 3rd party?
  4. Excitebike FTW!! This game is cool! A little more refinement, and a decent price.......I probably would have bought this, if I owned a GBA that is.
  5. That's fine, crap happens everywhere........but I bet you I can name 3 US cities with a population and size roughly the same as Toronto, and all 3 have murder rates at least 10x as high, with more than 75% being committed with a firearm. What you don't realize, is most of the murders in Toronto, are gang related......not school shootings, not crazy f**ks hiding in the trunk of a car with a scoped rifle, and not some banjo playing-bible thumping cult. Your reference and logic is HIGHLY FLAWED. Of course a murder like that made major headlines in our papers, IT'S RARE STUPID! Take New York, and I know it's condisiderably larger than Toronto, and go on a per-capita basis. I'm willing to bet that ALL gun related crimes, are at least 20x that of Toronto's.
  6. Did you try resetting your video config for the game to defaults and setting it up again?
  7. Nuff said. Here's a breakdown of your "Crap on a chip" http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/chipsets/display/i915g.html Your's on the right in the chart. Still no HW T&L, even though it supports PS 2.0..................wtf
  8. Sega recently discontinued their Dreamcast repair service. I can offer up my services if you'd like. I've been meaning to speak with Gamecop again about opening up a modding/repair service here on 1Emulation, where those of us with the know-how can offer up our help on the cheap. If you're interested, just let me know. If it's a simple matter of fixing a cold solder joint, I'll do it for nothing. All you'd have to cover is shipping.
  9. Sounds like there is something wrong with the AV port. Could be as simple as a bent/broken pin, or a blown capacitor. You'd have to know what you're dealing with really. If you know someone capable enough, I'd suggest letting them have a look at it.
  10. No! Read the rules you lazy tool.
  11. Given that on average (From what I can see) you could pick up a retail x1600 Pro (ATi brand) for 1/3 what a x1800XT goes for, it's certainly a waste of money. This is precisely why I'm going with dual x1600 Pros, which will set me back roughly $200 + shipping. 1 X1800XT would set me back roughly $300.......
  12. You guys haven't seen my "Jamma in a suitcase" yet then........ Still a WIP (But in the TRUE sense, where I have all the parts and I've drawn everything up, I just haven't completed it yet)
  13. Well I got my mobo and CPU tonight. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=280097839956 - Mobo http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=220101126776 - CPU Have to wait a few weeks before I go after some RAM and a video card, but then I can at least get it off the ground.
  14. If you have standard definition cable TV, you'll easily be able to tell if it scales. Set the TV to display 16:9 and feed it the 4:3 from SD cable source. If the image sits in the center of the screen with black bars on the sides, it's not scaling. This doesn't mean you can't make it scale, you'd just have to read your manual or check in the menus somewhere. I couldn't get much info from the LG website.
  15. Dreamcast games with Widescreen options: -Donald Duck's Quack Attack -F355 Challenge -Metropolis Street Racer (16:9 is an unlockable feature for some odd reason) -NASCAR Thunder -Rayman 2 -Star Lancer -Test Drive V-Rally -Tokyo Highway Challenge 2 -Toy Commander -Toy Racer -Trickstyle -Wacky Races Every other game is 4:3 only, and even the 16:9 ones require your TV to be set as such. As long as your TV is half decent, anything can be properly displayed in widescreen. I watch regular cable in widescreen, play even my 3DO in widescreen. The TV does an exellent job of resizing and sampling.
  16. If every moron in the US wasn't allowed to own guns, this WOULD NOT happen! Say whatever the f**k you want, where do you think these kids and most criminals get their weapons from? They're STOLEN from your average idiots house. "The Right To Bear Arms" is bullshit, ONLY law enforcement and military should be allowed to own any kind of gun other than hunting rifles. Your laws in the US SUCK ASS. It's legal for any stupid f**k to own a gun, but downloading an MP3 is illegal? Something SERIOUSLY wrong with that $hit.
  17. I guess you need imperfect vision for this. I have better than 20/20 with perfect color pickup (According to an optometrist at least), I can't see any difference even if I go 20 feet away into my kitchen. Edit: I went about 30 feet down the hall behind me and I started to make out the one with the cat, nothing doing on the first one though, I still see Albert Einstein.
  18. Can't say I've ever enjoyed wrestling, I really can't stand to watch it. And as for stuff like UFC, gimme a f**king break on that crap, boxers have more talent and get paid better.........I can't possibly understand why anyone would partake in UFC. Anyway, I'd have to say Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Whenever I DID watch wrestling, it was because this guy was an entertainer first and foremost. Funny as all hell and one hell of a public speaker. As far as I'm concerned, there has been NOBODY better in the sports entertainment business. If you can't get the attention of the crowd with your actions AND your words, you can't be anything more than "Good".
  19. All rap has sucked since the early 90's, Tupac included......if not moreso. I have yet to hear anyone with any REAL talent, that also doesn't spit out stereotypical gang-life bullshit. Wasted talent.......
  20. Sounds like you aren't extracting the whole thing. That error would pertain to the arm9 DLL from what I can gather, make sure you're unpacking the entire archive to a folder and not just the EXE.
  21. Here's your $800 mark http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5707020 Not a bad machine, and certainly better (In some regards, especially for a gamer) than the one that's almost $900 they offer that has Intel graphics. You pretty much can't go wrong with known brands, and picking a machine that suits your needs. If you want to game on it, go with something that offers a decent video chipset like a Radeon or GeForce, Intel graphics chipsets won't get you anywhere. Then from there, see what the best all-round package for processor and RAM is, and you're set.
  22. First off, do you REQUIRE a laptop as your primary machine? If not, I suggest you build your own desktop, as from a parts-price standpoint, laptops are nearly double in cost for the equivalent desktop, and MORE than double if you are building a desktop yourself rather than buying one. If you are set on a laptop, and it has to be cheap, you aren't going to get something that you should expect much out of for gaming compared to a desktop of the same value. See above..... Cheap is also a matter of opinion, if you mean REAL cheap, go to Walmart or something and check out their machines or any other department store. If you want finer details and suggestions, you'll have to provide more details on just what it is you want and how much you're willing to spend.
  23. Could be, I've heard that hack isn't"perfect", so I'd give a retail version a try first before drawing any conclusions.
  24. PC specs don't mean all that much if you're running a bloated machine, or using outdated drivers. Make sure you're using the latest drivers for your video, sound card and motherboard chipset. Then, make sure you don't have half a million things running in the background. Minimum Requirements on almost anything, are an over-estimate due to most PC users running poorly configured machines. I haven't met min reqs for anything since before Doom 3, I still play everything fine (Stalker though, is showing my machines age though....alot)
  25. Uses a Soundmax chipset designed just for Sony. I can usually find just about anything, and I can tell you this.......you're screwed. Not gonna find any drivers besides what's provided by Sony, and if the stuff on their website won't work, you'll have to pay for that disc. When will people learn that Sony flockING SUCKS!?
