  1. Well I went and messed with my Samsung 605f drive trying to tweak the pot to get it to read CD-R/RW......bad idea I learned (After reading some stuff at X-S). It seems the F is very touchy, and I am certain I fried the laser. Mind you I barely adjusted it, but it's said to be easy to break. I'm looking for a 605b model, or even a Philips drive. Everyone selling on Ebay is asking WAY too damn much + retarded shipping costs (I'm not paying $30-$40 for shipping) If anyone has one they want to sell, or knows where I can get one at a decent price WITHOUT retarded shipping prices, please speak up.
  2. I recommend setting a static IP on the PC and the XBOX, don't let DHCP do it's thing.....it never works properly with Windows, a proper DHCP server is required if you want to do that right *cough* Linux *cough* Set your PC to 192.168.0.1 Set your Xbox to 192.168.0.9 or the 9 can be anything really, but just go with 9.
  3. Wow......even my computer can run UT2k4 on medium settings, and I built it like 4-5 years ago. A 1st gen Socket 423 P4 1.4Ghz. Umm hows about throwing us some system specs before we recommend games?
  4. I give this thing a thumbs up. Maybe it'll help clear out all the AOL kiddies and braindead internet dwellers out there, clean this shiznit up a tad. 'sides, who goes to websites for porn these days anyway?
  5. I really don't care for ANY gaming site out there, I don't need any biased morons opinion on a game to decide if I want it or not. Show me some screenies, then if I like the look of it......I pira-test it , and if it's good enough I spend money on it.
  6. Nope, and if theres too much of that stupid crap, it alone will make the movie suck 10x over.
  7. PPC arch, hardware level security features......BUT standard medium. I give it 3-5 months for some minimal "soft-mod" and 6-8 months for a 1st gen hardware cheap-mod.
  8. Run yourself some Linux, and use Firefox. I've never tried that myself, I find no use for my Xbox as another PC, the closest it gets to that is using XBMC for my media needs. If you're wanting full-fledged browsing, thats your best bet though.
  9. Standalone browser with minimal support for extras, hell it doesn't even support CSS last I used it, nor did it provide plugins for Flash or any kind of videos. So that'd be a big fat no.
  10. Yeah, tape drives are ass slow, but if you've got alot of data to backup they rock. Tape drives aren't something the avg consumer should even consider owning though, they aren't worth it when you don't need to regularly backup large volumes.
  11. Suffice it to say you could pick one up on Ebay for only a couple dollars. As long as it's standard sizing, it should just unscrew and you screw the other one on.
  12. Can't say I agree with agozer.......Sega's sports games have ALWAYS been half-assed compared to EA's titles. And I say that with alot of love for my Dreamcast. Oh and I think soccer (football) is lame.........along with basketball.
  13. $18.99.......not a bad price. Can't say I know what quality level it carries. It's for PS2, so I can't really say "Why don't you build your own?". If you were looking for a PC stick, I'd have to say build your own though. Some Jamma buttons/stick and an IPAC or JPAC, would be a lot cheaper than buying one of those extremely overpriced X-Arcade sticks.......which suck btw.
  14. Your 7zip is very outdated then.
  15. Sultan, you wouldn't need that in it's entirety. Think of Xbox emulation, if you know much about CXBX for example and how the Xbox works........it's not really a matter of "emulation" but translation of some calls that aren't native. Alot of the Xbox hardware is native and performs native functions, but some doesn't and requires translation. These x86 based systems can mainly be pass-through direct to your PC hardware, with unsupported calls being translated.
  16. It wasn't even a good game.......why the hell would you make a movie based on a half assed game?
  17. It's $1.33 a litre here....I'm not sure what that would be in US dollars, or in the archaic measurement system that involves gallons. Edit: That would be $1.12 a litre in USD, or for gallons it would be $4.24. You guys in the US have it easy, especially considering we supply our own fuel and you buy some from us up here........we pay more for our own supply than you do for it.
  18. Or you could always just open the 7Zip GUI, hold shift and highlight em all........thats what I do.
  19. You can't, but I can. Done Welcome to 1Emulation.
  20. You do if you want one that doesn't conform to the boundaries set by sticking to the standard explorer themes setup. StyleXP allows you to have some pretty wierd themes that would otherwise not be possible.
  21. Ooo my thread went so far as Joystiq, where else has it gone? *Does happy dance* Yeah I kinda figured it was a hoax, but I never bothered to look too far into it.
  22. Consoles have alot more unique hardware than your run of the mill arcade board too. Even today's arcade boards utilize alot of standardized chipsets that have been arou nd for years, for basic functions.......consoles do not. This isn't as easy, infact nowhere near, as you seem to think it is. MESS emulates alot of obscure things, but they are not complex or highly unique hardware at their core.
  23. The release is set for SF2's 20th anniversary? I'm not much of a fighting game fan, but I enjoy Street Fighter games.......waiting until 2011? (SF2 was released in 91.....)
  24. That was me, and I did build it, but found it unsuitable.
  25. Well, not that I necessarily meant "you", I was generalizing. I find it funny just how many people keep moving to those areas knowing full well they are natural hazards and people who don't leave those areas after being subject to multiple storms that total their homes stick around to "rebuild". Quit rebuilding and MOVE.
