- Sony has officially announced PlayStation Portable launch information. The PSP will launch in Japan on December 12, for 19,800 yen (US$185). The PSP package includes the PSP system, AC Adapter and Battery Pack. The battery life has also been confirmed, the PSP uses rechargeable Li-Ion battery which can be used for 4-6 hours for playing games, and 4-5 hours for watching videos. 21 titles will be released throughout December 2004.

- Sony will also release a PSP Value Pack on the same date, for 24800 yen, which includes the PSP, Memory Stick Duo 32MB, Battery Pack, AC Adaptor, Headphones with remote control, carrying case and hand strap.

- Sony has also revealed price info on the PSP accessories:

 

    * Memory Card Duo 32MB - 2800 yen (US$26)

    * AC Adapter - 3500 yen (US$33)

    * Battery Pack - 4800 yen (US$45)

    * Headphone with Remote Control - 2800 yen (US$26)

    * Carrying Case - 2000 yen (US$19)

 

- Sony will ship 200,000 units of PSP at launch, an additional 500,000 units by the end of 2004, and accum. The PSP will launch in US and Europe sometimes before March 2005, Sony is planning to

 

- The PSP will have built-in wireless communication support, which follows the IEEE802.11b standard, capable to transfer up to 11Mbps within 120 meters, or 1Mpbs within 460 meters.

 

- Bandai announced they will release new UMD videos of Mobile Suit Gundam for PSP in spring 2005.

 

- Sony also confirmed that the PSP can exchange data with other portable / handheld devices.

So $184.99 will be the U.S official price tag for PSP ? well lets hope they better stick with that, But the possibility is that the U.S could make the price $199.99.
