Agozer Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 Don't totally pull a Neowave is what I'm trying to say.lol, well yeah, that would suck even more.
Gryph Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 My dream for this game is that the graphics are like MOTW and that the game is very balanced.
Ash_crimson Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 i personally want the high res graphics like in guilty gear... they now have the power to do so, so they should utilise its full potential!
Permethium Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 I think SNKP will have enough time to improve upon it even if its a tiny bit.But the real question is: Will they really improve it so much as we'd want them to? With history as a guide, no. But they will eventually have to use the Atomiswave power and think it'd be fitting if SvC2 was just all out new stuff. IMO they won't have any excuse if they screw this one up. They don't have the hardware limitations of the neo geo system anymore. So i'm expecting something really impressive - Whether they can live up to my expectations is to be seen.

Daeval Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 I'm kind of torn on this. I like what they did with SVC:Chaos graphically, the retooled sprites are, at least, different from the same old stuff and in many cases much improved (Balrog(US) and Dhalsim come to mind). I also like that they took some risks: Shiki is a cool design, if a poor excecution, Red Arremer and Athena are novel, and they used Mr. Karate, which I would consider lesser-known in the SNK pantheon. Game play is where it suffers. The power bar system is, in my opinion, one of the poorer variations to come out of SNK, and regular features (like the A+B roll) are ommited. The roster is one of the worst I've seen, with roughly 10 shoto (or might-as-well-be) characters and little else of interest. Frankly, I'd be happy if the graphical changes for SVC2 were minimal, so long as the gameplay changes are significant. Right now, I think that's most important for the series. While I look forward to graphical advances as much as anyone else (they might "save the genre" even), I'd rather SNKP get a gameplay formula down before they woo current and potential fans with pretty screenshots of a "next-gen" game no one actually wants to play.
Wizard Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Almost everything was perfect. It's just the hitboxes and untested hidden characters completely broke the game.
Chaotica Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 I liked the first, I thought it was great, and I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel.
Jjangthekid Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 I liked the first, I thought it was great, and I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel.you liked the first?.. i was disappointed,. the sprites for the shotokans were awful
Wizard Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 I personally liked the SNK versions of Capcom characters.
BlackKnight Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 Sprites were poor quality, but hopefully we can expect better if they use Atomiswave or something. The designs were good though. But I have to agree with everyone else; the characters were poorly chosen (no Alex?) and the balance was way off. I'm actually looking forward to a second one though; it can only be an improvement.
Wizard Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 It's a friking Neo-Geo :\ The problem was, this game had badass art style, but poor ass gameplay.
