L.S.D Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 Not equal to Jesus. Coz Jesus is simply a man. Heh, let just dun argue about this, ok? I believe you are a Jew and I'm a Christian. We are still "brothers", right ?
Gryph Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 Regarding different God in Old Testaments and New Testaments: - God in Old Testaments and God in New Testaments IS the same. - People argue that God in Old Testaments is unforgiving and without mercy, and yet God ALWAYS forgives the Israelites and deliver them from their problems. Save them from Egypt, save them from the Phillistines etc etc This is a showcase of love and mercy. - God in New Testaments is all about love and forgiveness, and yet God DO punish people and show them His wrath. (Forget what happens, need to read up again :) Therefore, God in Old Testaments = God in New Testaments = Jesus Amen to that God sounds like a jerk if he only helps the Hebrews. Wouldn't he want to save all of his/her/whatever creatures? But no, he has singled out the Hebrews for only god knows why. Doesn't that strike you as a bit odd? Kind of like stories told so people would feel better in times of trouble like when they were enslaved by the Egyptians? It's all a bunch of crock to me.
Agozer Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 It seems to me the god is just some formless entity that chooses to do stuff at the most inappropriate of moments....or then he doesn't do anthing.

But no, he has singled out the Hebrews for only god knows why. God singles out the Hebrew because of a promise (covenant) He made to Abraham(technically the 1st Hebrew). During that time, men are evil and revel in sin. God made a covenant with Abraham because Abraham is righteous and walk in the way of God (meaning religious and remember and thanks God always for all the good thngs he has).
Mr.X Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 Not equal to Jesus. Coz Jesus is simply a man. We are still "brothers", right ? Right, we'R human.

So having concubines is righteous? Awesome!!

StriderSkorpion Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 Multi-verse? Where do you get that idea Mr. X? There's definitely no way to tell if there is more than one universe or not. The infinite space around the universe hardly constitutes what a deity is. Heck, the universe is believed to be finite, scientifically speaking. I guess you could say he/she/it encompasses it all, but that's the same as the Judeao-Christian (sp?) philosophy. L.S.D., I'm only say what the Gnostics believe. That's wasn't my opinion when I used to be Christian. Jesus, man or not is a matter of opinion anymore. Since "he's" not around anymore (physically, at least), it's hard to prove if he was God/God's son.

Scientists can't prove if the Multi-verse is infinite (like in Mathematics science) or not. Also, We don't know all the subatomic particles of energy, we can't deduce them. StriderSkorpion Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 (edited) Energy is not made of subatomic particles. Also, as far as anyone knows, there's just one universe rather a multitude of universes or in other words a multi-verse. True they can't physically prove the universe is finite, but through mathematics and science they've proven it is. Right now, they believe the universe is expanding, but eventually, some scientists believe, it will then contract on itself. Edited April 25, 2004 by StriderSkorpion

String theory? What's that?
Mr.X Posted April 25, 2004 Posted April 25, 2004 Energy is not made of subatomic particles. For example, electrons & protons Rn't energy for U ? Maybe U talk about their charge... For example, if U talk about neutrinos, they've no charge. Also, as far as anyone knows, there's just one universe rather a multitude of universes or in other words a multi-verse. I prefer Multi-verse's infinite with contractions.
