Wizard Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 I found this link at n-g.com fourms. About someone making a Neo-GeoCD Emulator for the Dreamcast! w00t! http://www.dcemulation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=47271 I am so happy (since I have Neo-CD stuff, thanks to Cinder)
Cominus Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 But the dc can bearly emulate the snes, stop playing with our emotions K'DASH!
Wizard Posted April 4, 2004 Author Posted April 4, 2004 But the dc can bearly emulate the snes, stop playing with our emotions K'DASH!Actually it can. Someone just needs to make a better emu then the one now.
Cominus Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 but by the time one does i'd haved owned like 3 xboxes.
Sane Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 The difference is that snes games have to be loaded into the DC's Vram, cd based games obviously won't have this limitation. Bleem showed us with their PSX emu for DC that it's not only possible but that DC can even enhance the games graphically. Of course it will take an extremele talented programmer with loads of time and rescources to make a good psx or NG CD emu, but I think it's a nice idea atleast worth trying, I'd rather see a PCE CD emulator than NG CD though.
Shibathedog Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 the DC is capable of LOTS more than people think, all it takes is the programming talent, nothing has even scratched the surface of what the DC can do
ken_cinder Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 pssst if you bothered to check the authors website, you'd see there have already been TWO (Count em TWO) releases of this emulator that you can download and try for yourself...........it's not "Coming Soon", it's been here for months. And this does NOT belong in Current Affairs. *sigh* Moves thread
Shibathedog Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 i noticed that two, both things, w00t i are not stoopid
DanManXZ Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 ...I'd rather see a PCE CD emulator...That would be the coolest emulator ever made. A PC-Engine on the go would be GREAT
Shibathedog Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 you know what would rule? A DOS emulator for Dreamcast!
iq_132 Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 lmao. Dos emus on the pc are damn slow, they'd be super slow on the dc. I'd like to see a full-speed genesis (not segagen) and snes emulator.
StriderSkorpion Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 That'd be great if the DOS emulator (or a DOS port) panned out. If they can emulate the NG CD, why not try to apply that to regular Neo Geo emulation? After all, Razoola showed how easy it is to convert NG CD games to MVS format with his Zintrick release. Why not have the emulator pretend the CD is a NG CD and run the games like that? Of course this is assuming the CD games don't require being fully loaded into RAM.
Wizard Posted April 7, 2004 Author Posted April 7, 2004 Loading times on the emulatable games that run are barely none existant, which is good
Shibathedog Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 well if we had a DOS emu, we could play Doom and Duke Nukem without all that compiling crap
N3oGhost Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Yo this emu has been released and is working surprisingly well from what im told. I have nothing to give other than the binary and source link: http://imrtechnology.ngemu.com/ The emu acts as a boot device and allows you to load a neogeo cd disc. (backup or original) pretty cool news. now where the f UC K do i find neogeo cd images? lol
