James Posted February 23, 2004 Author Posted February 23, 2004 It looks for "271-s1.bin" although the KOF2003 in MAME32K has "271-s1.rom". I ignored the errors (It said didn't find file.), so basically the romset loaded didn't have the S1 file.... O_o Nope, it didn't load. It specifically wants that filename..... =Pthats why i said if the crc was correct then it would load anyway.even if it was 271-s1.bum
ForceX Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 James is correct...it should not matter what name the file it is looking for because it should be able to detect the CRC of the file and recognize it to be the file that it is looking for....
StriderVM Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 Well, the CRC is wrong.... OK... Sue me..... =P What I did is rename the extension to bin and load the ROM. FBA said CRC does not match, ignored it and it loaded the game fine... So its alright now.... =P

i l l m a t i c Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 yea the same thing happened to me, I just renamed the extension from rom to bin

i l l m a t i c Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 is there any difference between those versions wit neoghost's?
ForceX Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 (edited) I cannot understand spanish but I think the only real difference is that the author of EC-FBA has added the fully decrypted romsets to FBA, which were already in the source code and to enable them you just had to uncomment them...The author has also fixed up some errors in his previous version and added KOF2001, KOF2002 and ROTD... Is this for the Xbox (I'm assuming it is) or for the PC? Anyways, I rather use NeoGhozt's FBAx as he is a regular of this forum so if I have any trouble I can just ask him directly IMHO there is no real difference and to my knowledge Neoghozt is working on the fully decrypted romsets so that they work without any errors etc on the Xbox Edited February 26, 2004 by ForceX
Prican25 Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 well i noticed that the fba posted isn't up to date like james's mame as it still uses older version of roms eg:old svc p1 and m1, samsho5 v roms aren't merged and doesn't use fixed c roms, etc.
ForceX Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 I always keep my compile of FBA up to date....with the latest crc's for all of the romfiles...Its not that hard
Prican25 Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 (edited) yeah so i hear but i never did any compiling so i may start looking it up now. james, forceX and to anyone else that makes compiles of mame and fba should try to make an easy to learn "how to" on compiling and pin it or if possible a good link with info on how to do it. i'm sure theres plenty of ppl like me who want to learn but have no idea where to start other then doing a google search (which i'm about to do hehe) Edited February 26, 2004 by Prican25
ForceX Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Ok I will make a simple to use guide on how to compile FBA and since James is the resident MAME master he should be the one to make the guide on how to compile MAME, even though I can compile that as well I will start work on it right now and hopefully it will help anyone out there who wants to compile there own emulator....

I'm not so much into compiling my own emulator, but there are lots of people out there who need a guide like this. I hope it turns out good. Edited February 26, 2004 by Agozer
ForceX Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Well I got to thinking that when I first started compiling FBA I had alot of problems setting my MinGW, which is required for the compiling process. I was wondering whether I should just post my MinGW directory for people to download. That way it will take no time at all for people who are interested in compiling FBA to get started. What do you guys think?
Agozer Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 I think you should put it up just in case. It wouldn't be the first time people are having trouble with MinGW compiling.
