vegita8888 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 My first console was a game gear. Never actually had a master system. Skipped that and got mega drive. Then saturn, then dreamcast. Then when sega said they weren't making consoles anymore I cried. Then got xbox. My sister had a ps1 before I got the dreamcast so had a some games for that. Recently bought a ps2 to play them again, as well as PS2 games I'd missed out on. It's only coz of the xbox's power of emulation that I've tried any snes games. Never had a nintendo. Never had a Nintendo. Wow I thought Nintendo was the King. "cough sarcasm cough"
The-Ice-Man Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 (edited) I don't think I'll ever buy a Nintendo. I started emulating Snes one day out of curiosity, to see the difference between Snes and Mega Drive versions of certain games, then thought I may as well try out others that everyone raved about. But I've still not got round to properly playing any Mario, or Metroid or Zelda. I only got the GBA emulator coz I wanted to play the old Final Fantasy games, and the GBA versions were quicker to get hold of than the PSX versions. I'll get round to trying out other GBA games though coz there do seem to be some good ones. One day I might try emulating Gamecube on my PC, but just to play Resident Evil and The Twin Snakes. Nowadays it's only games like those that didn't get a multi platform release that would make me want a Nintendo. A lot of people will have actually gone out and bought a damn Gamecube just to play Resident Evil. But fuck that. It pissed me off to shit that the remake and Zero and 4 never got ported to Xbox, but I wouldn't waste money on a console just for a couple of games. At least I still have the original on PS1 and 4 on PS2. I never understood the Twin Snakes though. Sons of Liberty made it to Xbox, so why didn't The Twin Snakes? They were made around the same time. As for Wii. I don't want any Wii game. Ever. Look at me I'm hitting teh enemiez with my sword, swish swish, wooo. Lately I've started trying out emulating systems I've never played. I tried atari7800x but the games are a bit too old school for me. I tried bluemsxbox but the games are all Japaneese, next I want to try x68000x, and then winuaex. I think I've missed out on a lot of good games with the Amiga. I always had a PC, so it was DOS for me. I know a lot of Amiga games were on DOS and I could play those ones in DOSbox, but there must have been a lot of Amiga only games. Edited July 26, 2009 by The-Ice-Man
NEIL222 Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Yeah Ice-Man, the Amiga has some awesome games.I had one back in the day, and still play those games today (via WinuaeX)... Check out this site for some reviews, info etc of Amiga stuff:http://www.lemonamiga.com/?mainurl=http%3A...php%3Fid%3D1788
The-Ice-Man Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Does WinuaeX play CD32 games ok? I definitely want the Alien Breed games, and the CD32 version is the best version of Tower Assault coz it has the fmvs. I just wondering if there are any Amiga games that the xbox would have trouble with. Coz the Amiga spans so much different hardware.

Think it comes downto getting a good image dump of the game in question. The only ones I have had trouble with getting to work in WinuaeX are the more advanced ones, that use AGA RTG chips CD based ones... Other than that though, it truly rocks!
The-Ice-Man Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I must admit I'm a little confused about all the acronyms. There's lots of them. On Lemon Amiga, one of the games listed, Simon the Sorcerer II, says under hardware: AGA, RTG, PPC, Pegados, CD-ROM. Does that mean there's five different versions of the game available? Or that it requires all of those things? For Tower Assault there's two entries, one the CD32, the other ECS/AGA. Abuse says ECS/AGA/RTG. It's all a bit confusing for someone who's never actually even seen an Amiga. Is there maybe a list of games that work properly on WinuaeX?
NEIL222 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) Not sure about a list of games...I just know from my own experience. Just get ECS or AGA games from Zophars (see below)Don't worry about all the other acronyms, just get games that use either ECS (standard amiga system), AGA (better graphics etc) or CD32 games.I personally use zophars for my Amiga stuff (pm sent)... Once a game loads, do a save state so that you don't have to wait for loadingnext time you play it. EDIT:(use lemon-amiga to see what games you want, then zophars to get em') Edited July 27, 2009 by NEIL222
madddyyy Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Definately my n64 emu for pilotwings. and mame outrun.
kazmir Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Amiga rules on xbox !!! i have trouble with alien breed tower assault cd32 the video have "micro cut" other people experience the same problem ? is a way for perfect emulation ? thanks
The-Ice-Man Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Yeah I tried the CD32 version, video was choppy as hell, but the gameplay is ok. The AGA version works perfectly, of course that doesn't have the video though. I think the only way to play Tower Assualt and watch the intro and outro movies properly is to download the PC CD-Rom version and run it under Dosbox. I did that just to see what the intro was like as I'd never seen it before. I only used to have the demo on pc. The acting is terrible. I mean really bad. I'm an actor myself, and I can safely say I've never seen worse in a video game FMV. After seeing the intro I'm not bothered about seeing the outro, so I'm just gonna keep the AGA version in my WinUAEX rom folder. The Alien Breeds are the best games on Amiga hands down. Nothing else comes close.
ricklixo Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Im having a weird trouble with alien breed.Every time i start the game, the amiga cd 32 screens appears, with a cd spinning, so enters in a screen with a KEY and two locks, one green and othe red. I just cant get the game to work, can anybody help me?see ya and thanks!
The-Ice-Man Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 I remember the same thing happening when I first tried a CD32 game. It means your settings are wrong. I don't remember what settings you need off hand, but try highlighting Alien Breed in the game list and pressing x to modify the settings. Then go to select machine defaults, and choose CD32 1MB FastRAM, then good compatibility/faster. Then press b to start the game and see if it works. I'm assuming you're actually using an ISO of the CD32 version of Tower Assault. If it's any other version of Alien Breed then you don't need to use the CD32 settings, you'll need to use one of the regular Amiga machine setups. A1200 with 4mb ram expansion should work for all the other Alien Breeds.

Cheers, Steveyou can ftp the files across or burn them to dvd, then once burned to dvdr just pop the disc in your xbox drive and use xbmc file manager to copy the files onto your xbox hdd.
