Fatal Rose, I don't fully understand what you're getting at, but the fighting system, (at least in my eyes), does not look clunky. At least when you compare this installment to the previous pieces of trash that we've gotten. The game might not be fully awesome to most standards, but if you were to ask me, (no one asked me), this game is like the modern MK4.

 

Mortal Kombat 4 was that Mortal Kombat game which was essentially "Meh", this game is the same, only including a total of 22 characters comprised of both Mortal Kombat and DC Comic characters.

I think I know what fatal means, just look at the animations, it kinda looks like the dudes can teleport their joints. That and the pause between hits as well....

In conjunction with other comic-based VS games, Onslaught can be beaten _twice_ by the likes of Chun-Li single-handedly (if not with another partner) where in fact in the comics, it took a myriad of Marvel heroes (some of them dying in the process) in order to destroy Onslaught.

 

Naturally, those uber-godlike feats of heroes/villains have to be toned down in terms of balancing out, to the point that someone can rip off Superman's spine even without the advantage of using kryptonite.

That big deviation from MK's trademark fatalities does drain the game's lifeblood.

they edited the jokers fatality. now the actual shot to the head takes place off camera. who knows how much more toned down the rest of the game is.
