Arcades 2.0 is coming

exciting hour works fine for me.. ill do the 2 player games for sure and look into video preview although it might blow the 4.5 gig limit :S. I need video previews though if anyone can supply me with them and on a fast way that would be great

as we keep missing each other because of time zones ill ask in here concernnig videos.

 

i have d/l the emumovies standard quality set which are all looking great. They seem to be slightly different sizes although most are 320x240, some are smaller - will this be a problem for arcades?

 

also how fast can the xbox play a video preview? i thought if there is going to be a time delay you could show a snapshot of the rom while the video preview loads.

 

obviously the video pack will be quite large in size, but personally i dont see it being a problem as most have plenty of rom on there xbox's.

 

if you could PM me a romlist for arcades 2 i can start to prune the unwanted video files as it is for mame set 1.18. and im not sure if its complete.

im looking at something pretty new soon by looks.. ill let you know soon. For now I may release a final Arcades patch to you guys.

 

A question for you guys is do you want

 

A ) All games including ones people havent heard of and all the cheap games

B ) All games including ones people havent heard of and all the cheap games and mahjones Casino games

C ) All the top games and most other good games

D ) All the top games in a really flash interface

 

Ill need at least 5 votes ard here im sure

hi bs ive just been testing out narc on mamedox arcades,i know it is a little bit buggy(driver problem)but i found it very playable,i dont know if you want to include it or not but just thought id mention it.

 

im stuck between C and D,seeing as ive got all the top games and other good games in arcades already then i would go D.

D gets my vote.

 

as for AandB ive already got BAED mame-disc,not the evolved version which i think you worked on BS if i remember,but the original baed,anyway theres a lot of majhong games and games which just dosent appeall to me,like the much older games and majhong.i know some people enjoy playing these types of games but their not really my thing.Dont get me wrong i used to play a lot of the older arcade games but it was always the more poular games that i played iepacman,galaxian....you get the idea.and i just find now playing games from that era that i never played before dosent really interested me.but eveyones got their own tastes.

another reason id go for D is that with the collection of games there is in arcades now i feel its more complete and yes before anyone asks what about mortal kombat and the midway games,well i think bs is gonna do something about that(dissable sound),mentioned in another post he made somewhere.

im curious about this interface you speak of bs thats another reason why i would go for D.just to see how it would turn out.like i said im more than happy with the games that are included already,of course cps3 would be nice,but hey we can always dream.sh*t that was a long post lol.

i like to play all the games besides the mahjong and black and white ones. maybe you can add some of the missing games like crime fighters, 2020 super baseball, neo turf masters, mikie and super dodge ball.

ABCD only sounds like A or C that last one but they are lot diff in desing concept. I wondering if im wrong in thinking to some newbe I was working with Im thinking C or D myself hes definatly thinking A

 

eg doubling the game number no matter what the qaulity (which is A)

Ive temp added 230 games and some mentioned in that list are there, actually all of those where added

 

New interface would be built with thr XBMC skin engine in 720P but for that I would narrow the games to major classics and make it flash

 

SF3 get me the source id love that

 

PS for those that are interest read though these posts if you support his ideas let me know if not let him know on Xbscene he is ralling for change and at this point maybe a direction change is needed please read and comment on what you see fit I wont take offense need to know for directional reasons

i like option A because i like having all games available in one emulator. i like your emulator better than mameox because i think you do a great job on the bugfixes and configuring the controls for each game.

as I say ive added 230more games and fixed alot of keymaps for games like super sprint etc this is still opion C if you want stuff added like that

 

voting for A would mean hundereds of games of this quality w . w. w.mameworld.net/maws/romset/dynadiceetc it has no known manuacture no known year of release and IMO is rubbish but it works no problems should they be added?

Mamedox arcades is the reason I recently bought an XBOX, so thankyou BS for all your efforts to date.

 

The few roms I wanted that were not included (Super Hangon, Football Champ, Rainbow Island Extra and various others) I added myself, rescaned and they work great (Please dont take this feature out!).

 

One possible suggestion/improvement:

*) For some of the older lower resolution games (Black Tiger, Wonder Boy etc) I find they look better with the Scaling Filter set to "AdvanceMAME Scale 2x", but the new games suffer to much slowdown with the option. Any chance of setting these video options per game?

 

Tough choice between C and D. Video preview would be nice but I think the menu is pretty good anyway. I would rather have one emu that plays all the top/good games as glitch free as posible.

 

C gets my vote.

 

In any case, Mamedox Arcades is quality piece of software and looking forward to Arcades 2.0

How difficult (or impossible) would it be to keep an Exhaustive Gamelist . , b.W this kind of game you mention, i think nobody care, but you can sometimes miss a gem like ones i provided in this post. So, i would prefer vote A.

 

Anyway, im sure to enjoy and share your hardwork .
