While I enjoy Taxi Driver, I have always thought its highly overrated.

- Lord of War (solid Cage Movie)

- The Descent ('s ok once a year. Anyway better than it's sister The Cave)

- Tomb Raider 1 (First time. More enjoyable than the sequel)

- In the Valley of Elah (Mr. Jones once more as hard played Detective-like character)

Just finished with Pearl Harbour, meh, lots of American flags on show.

For Americans.

 

Hollywood WW2 movies tend to suck as they become this big pile of "AMERICA **** YEA!" and make out that every American loves America and they never did anything wrong in the slightest, etc. There not all like that....but most of them. At times they can feel like American Propaganda films.

 

For instance in this case, I don't recall through out the movie the ban trade to Japan (America was meant to be neutral at this time) due to Japans ongoing war with China. Im not saying the events at Pearl Harbour were warranted, I don't believe they were and it was a horrble loss of human life. My point is Hollywood movies tend to leave out certain facts.

 

Thats why when its comes to WW2 I much prefer to read books then watch movies.
