Wizard Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 our government is greedy, and they're slowly taking all of our rights away. and as far as doing something about it, people can get up off their butts, and "protest" We as a people, instead of as an individual, can come together and do something. I'm not asking anyone to, I'm just saying that no one can biatch about how bad things here are because they can indeed do something to change it. So..yeah....they can't biatch....pretty much....Oh, my god, you're right! We're not limited to sitting on our asses and bitching. We can get up, go stand out in the cold, and biatch as a group! Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?!Because America doesn't have the draft anymore so no one can biatch about all the other things anymore. Unless it's a WTO rally.
Krosigrim Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Okay, so, since we're all just lazy. Give me a list of what's currently wrong with the government, and then tell me what I can do to change it.Wow. That would be a big list. I'm too lazy to post one. Really though. The things I see as wrong, I have no alternative for. Because the only things I can come up with, just either don't work (including amendment wise) or cause a new problem altogether. (jinga) One of my main issues, is the ridiculous amount of money officials make PLUS the crazy expenses that are on the tax payers bill, not theirs. Like you said Mondo, lining their pockets. Do you mean that they can't biatch about rights being taken away and people doing nothing about it? More seriously, do you plan on voting next year? Voting is a good way to change things, except of course if the vote is falsified. Or except if you want to impose your will to a majority of people; that would be totalitarism.Oh my... I'll refrain from getting into this one. Other than... the only thing voting can really accomplish, is passing or nixing bills that are passed. In my OPINION, voting for president is bogus. Electoral collages... BAH!
Ryuken Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 so right now, ur talking about how everyone is not doing anything but talk but have u done anything that helps the country??
Krosigrim Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 She is not home. I feel ya on this though. I don't know exactly what she is aiming for. Perhaps it's too many ideas, jumbled up, and not coming out quite right. I feel bad, because I don't keep up with anything like I did. And am surprised to hear things that go on. Like that lady, who pissed of some other country, and apparently, that is why our gas is going up again. Yea, my description is vague, but that is just how I see things anymore... vaguely. My problem, is where the hell do we start? And if we find a good place to start, what the hell do we do. I'm almost pessimistic about it all.
Weirdy Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 world peace would make things boring and would never be possible as long as we all have neurons also, the concept of peace is so subjective that you can create a war based on who's definition is best
Fatal Rose Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 world peace would make things boring and would never be possible as long as we all have neurons also, the concept of peace is so subjective that you can create a war based on who's definition is bestI was kidding Al.
Gryph Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 There will NEVER be world peace. NEVER NEVER NEVER. Except when we all die during some major nuclear war.
OverlordMondo Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 There will NEVER be world peace. NEVER NEVER NEVER. Except when we all die during some major nuclear war. Then that should be our goal! The only way to achieve world peace is to wipe out all life on the planet! Let's get started.
taratata Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 She is not home. I feel ya on this though. I don't know exactly what she is aiming for. Perhaps it's too many ideas, jumbled up, and not coming out quite right. It's called being 19-years-old. Feeling that there is a big problem in this world (or in the country, depends on one's eyesight) and not quite knowing what the problem is. It brings up healthy, even if mostly vain wills of changing things. Now of course if it's not a will to change things for the worse, it's even better. There will NEVER be world peace. NEVER NEVER NEVER. Except when we all die during some major nuclear war.If all wars could be waged using chessboxing, wars would be fun.
Explosive Misanthropy Posted December 6, 2007 Author Posted December 6, 2007 (edited) you're an assbag skythe...... this makes me feel alone...you people shuck Edited December 6, 2007 by Explosive Misanthropy
Skythe Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 you're an assbag skythe...... Glad I could help.
Shibathedog Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I haven't read much of this thread (may have even replied already and forgot about it) but my 2 cents to the matter is that if you learn your history, your going to realize one horrifying fact about the U.S. It's becoming EXACTLY what it stands against, what it was created to oppose, and what the original founders didn't want it to be anything like. They definitly had a fantastic idea and where on the right track. Too bad its not working out.
Cominus Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Why don't you all just move to Canada, then we'll take over the US. Afterall, not only do we have free (tax paid) healthcare, but our dollar is worth more than yours now. What reason do you have left NOT to? The french. All I am saying is that the people who fight for America are going to come home to what they fought against if our Hilary is elected....' Holy chit! Did you just say vote for Hilary?! Vote progressive?! Yeah....no. Is there a worst thread evar to vote for? I second that motion. Get off your lazy asses and "protest" Protest against what? People having money and being able to afford proper health care? People making the right/lucky decisions in life and allowing them an egde in the real world? Do you even know what you're fighting for? communist america? Who's a communist? The american people wont allow it. totalitarian? Yeah, it happens when a country is in some kind of termoil/conflict(e.i. a war). The people seek leadership and the leader takes advantage, it's called life/history/present/future. You should take a college level history class, but one that covers "after american civil war-present". You might learn a little.
