Shibathedog Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 yeah but dont be fooled, there was some PR involved i would be willing to bet they hired some PR people to start some internet hype, it snowballed, and then it all went from there, PR people are smart and sneaky, dont underestimate them Its quite obviously a B movie, it looks cheesy as hell, it looks like one of those movies everyone is like "OMG DUDE LETS GO SEE THAT MOVIE STONED!!" if you get what im saying im gonna go see it this weekend, ill remain open minded about it though, beleive it or not im not really against it or for it, i just think its weird that so much hype is around something thats so cheesy All the internet fads and stuff are annoying, thats more what im against, people think they are hilarious now just for saying SNAKES ON A PLANE LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL in flash movies and YTMNDs
Wizard Posted August 19, 2006 Author Posted August 19, 2006 Some PR was mostly for their San Deigo Comiic Con Q&A panel. The intarweb was the PR team. and like gryph said, it's actually very good. There is a serious style. And the way some of thes mofugas die is awesome and funny!
Shibathedog Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Yeah but i remember saying the same thing about Final Destination, when i watch that movie now i think...what was i thinking? this is crap (especially the third one, which i never liked) i really have no right to biatch though having not seen the movie yet, so ill have to wait itll ive actually seen it untill i say my "official" opinion lol
Alpha Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I read some story on another message board that someone went to a theather and some kids were throwing rubber snakes during the movie. People were vomiting and crapping in their pants all over the place. I would have paid to see that. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... HOLY SHIIIIIIT!!"

Robert Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Getting released here on the 24th (I think). Hafta buy me some rubber snakes, bwahahaaaa!
Shibathedog Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Wow that sounds like an amazing idea, now im really looking foward to seeing it! haha The funniest thing that happened to me at a theatre was probably during Kong, when Kong rips the T-Rex's mouth apart or whatever some kid in front of me threw up all over the place, and it wasnt just a quick vomit it was like gallons of puke everywhere, they had to change seats and everything haha
Fatal Rose Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Great great movie. Just arrived back from seeing it.
ssj9vegeto0 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 im definently gonna see this movie sometime
garyoak99 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Getting released here on the 24th (I think). Hafta buy me some rubber snakes, bwahahaaaa! A good marketing idea would be to sell the snakes at the concession stands to people who have tickets to see Snakes on a Plane in the opening week!
Gryph Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 I just got back from the movie and I was impressed. I expected a campy not so good movie with a few cool lines from Samuel L. Jackson but it was actually a fun summer flick. Its something I would only see in the theatres because the audience reaction really enhances the movie.

The audience reaction really makes all the difference! It definitely enhances the parts where the snakes make their kills! The problem with movies like these though is the fact they're never really THAT popular to begin with so they fade quickly with time. I guess the Internet hype was excessive since it BARELY even beat out Talladega Nights when it was in its THIRD week!
gymnist1026 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 i saw it and was amazed. i loved the pseudo story-line that they created for the movie to give it a plot other then ...well...snakes on a plane...

Really? I watched it and I didn't notice any pseudo story-line other than the one that gives the main characters (Jackson and that surfer guy) an excuse to climb aboard that doomed flight.
Wizard Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 Actuallym for the most part, almost everyone knew it was Sammy L. and Snakes on a Plane. No mention of a sufer guy.
