kaioshade Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 The reason they leve it closed to the public is because the public generally does not know how to behave. I didnt go last year, but i go most of the other years. I will problably go this year as well.
kaioshade Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Is that even a rational stereotype?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> yes it is. Every time i go to e3, the kids who sneak in act up and screw everything up. If people would quit sneaking in and being general asses, then maybe it would be open to the public. And do not take this as some "holier than thou" attitude. I am very fortunate to be able to attend e3, and am well aware of this fact.
Daeval Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Is that even a rational stereotype?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes. It's not that they'll be tearing booths down and whatnot, but the size of the crowd would quadruple, and you would have to worry more about that minority who would get unruly. Plus, and this is going to sound weird, but the show's not really geared toward consumers.

North American socities' teenagers alike will most likely run amok then actually look around in awe. That and nothing wants to be stolen. Oh and if they opened it to the public they'll need a much bigger convetion center. This year's GDC was packed to the max.
Prican25 Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 there is a contest to go to e3 that sony invited to those who signed up to their playstaion underground forum and i believe M$ is doing something similar. fat chance of winning that tho
Bob Jahovic Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 (edited) People in large groups do not know how to behave This is from a riot at MSU in Lansing, Michigan Edited April 8, 2005 by Bob Jahovic
Gryph Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 And all those untamed geeks around hot E3 booth babes can only mean trouble. Atleast industry geeks have control.

I feel fine watching the videos and looking at the screenshots in the comfort of my own room.
Dooz Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I would like to go, just once. I think it'd be a fun and interesting experience, that not many get to enjoy.
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 meh I get to go to a local convention, called CERF, it's cool enough and alot of companies came and show off their products and whatnot, but it still wouldn't compare to E3.
Agozer Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I wouldn't mind getting an invitation to E3. I'd be all cool and crap and not make a ruckus.
Sybarite Paladin AxL Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 If I were to go to E3 (highly unlikely) I would take agozer and inky along
