FBA-XXX Pro by + T +

First of all. massive thanks to +T+ for picking up where djohng left off. Brilliant work (I'm still having problems with Matrimelee, but that's another story).

 

Sorry if this is a really 'n00b' question. but what are the XOR's exactly?. I realise they're needed to decrypt encrypted roms (I first knew of them when the progear fiasco took place) but I'm unsure as to why exactly we need them? avsp has been in emulated for ages so why have the XOR's only just been released?.

The new XORs aren't for the main sets. They're for clone sets which, until now, could not be decrypted:

 

avspa.zip = Alien vs. Predator (Asia 940520)

19xxa.zip = 19XX: The War Against Destiny (Asia 951207)

 

Probably only of interest for completists, but it was an easy addition.

UPDATE: Alphabetized the game list and changed some displayed names so they alphabetize correctly (e.g. 'The Last Blade' --> 'Last Blade, The')

Anyway to make FBA-XXX not show the game in the list if the romset is incomplete? I can't seem to complete your romsets, I got a lot but missing a lot of straggler roms.....my wife and nephews place a lot and they like things to just work =)

Me too; just spent the last couple of days trying to complete it but no joy at all on the newsgroups. For example I'm missing just one or two files from the romset and don't know how/ where to get or fix them:

YuenBiaoFan i see you're new so fair warning that i edited your post due to breaking one of our rules here; no rom requests.

 

for the most part, the d/nd sets can mostly be done with the latest winkawaks as its tool option allows you to save decrypted c's and also gives you an s rom from encrypted roms. plz refer to the pinned topic about encrypted/decrypted roms for more info.

UPDATE: Added decrypted V ROMs to the driver for matrim (encrypted set) so it can be played with full sound.

What version of FBA-XXX do i use this with? I got the 02/06/2k5 version and patched the xbe with ips. Do i just use this patched xbe and dats with any ver of FBAXXX? Also I was going though the DAT list u provided and you missed SF2 CE Turyu rom Here it is: game (

Actually I didn't miss the Turyu set I removed it, along with a couple of other hacked sets that aren't a part of MAME. How does this version differ from the other SF2 hacks exactly?

 

If ppl really want it then I'll put it back in, but I'm trying to clean out as many pointless drivers as possible, since FBA-XXX is really a mess in some of the strange sets it supports.

 

And yes, as it says in the first post, you just download the 06.02.2005 release, replace the included default.ips file with the FBA-XXX Pro one and run the batch file.
