Thanks for the dats!  its quite a bit differn't than djhans, I posted a fix.dat on a.b.e.neogeo  hopefully someone can help me out =)  Looks like new FBA-X is out as well with progear support, hope you incorporate the changes =)  I like your version.

Yes, I'm working on an update that, in addition to Progear, will add all the new CPS2 clones that MAME supports.

UPDATE: Updated all CPS2 drivers to use latest roms. Added Progear driver from latest FBA-XXX. Added all new CPS2 clones from MAME. Updated OutRun to use latest MAME sets. Implemented minor bug fixes from latest FBA-XXX.

 

Please note that this latest and all future patches are intended to be applied to the latest FBA-XXX XBE (06.02.2005).

BTW, if anyone knows of any specific sets that need updating please let me know. I looked at Shinobi and the only difference I can see in the sets is that MAME has clones supported. I don't think any of the Sys16 games work well enough to warrant adding all the clone sets. And I think the new Thunderblade set has protection which requires MAME's updates to the sys16 driver to work at all.

So do we just add those XOR tables to the sets you mentioned, or drop them into the ROMS folder as they are?

First of all. massive thanks to +T+ for picking up where djohng left off. Brilliant work (I'm still having problems with Matrimelee, but that's another story).

 

Sorry if this is a really 'n00b' question. but what are the XOR's exactly?. I realise they're needed to decrypt encrypted roms (I first knew of them when the progear fiasco took place) but I'm unsure as to why exactly we need them? avsp has been in emulated for ages so why have the XOR's only just been released?.

 

Again, sorry if this is a silly question.

The new XORs aren't for the main sets. They're for clone sets which, until now, could not be decrypted:

 

avspa.zip = Alien vs. Predator (Asia 940520)

19xxa.zip = 19XX: The War Against Destiny (Asia 951207)

 

Probably only of interest for completists, but it was an easy addition.

UPDATE: Alphabetized the game list and changed some displayed names so they alphabetize correctly (e.g. 'The Last Blade' --> 'Last Blade, The')

Anyway to make FBA-XXX not show the game in the list if the romset is incomplete? I can't seem to complete your romsets, I got a lot but missing a lot of straggler roms.....my wife and nephews place a lot and they like things to just work =)

Me too; just spent the last couple of days trying to complete it but no joy at all on the newsgroups. For example I'm missing just one or two files from the romset and don't know how/ where to get or fix them:

YuenBiaoFan i see you're new so fair warning that i edited your post due to breaking one of our rules here; no rom requests.

 

for the most part, the d/nd sets can mostly be done with the latest winkawaks as its tool option allows you to save decrypted c's and also gives you an s rom from encrypted roms. plz refer to the pinned topic about encrypted/decrypted roms for more info.
