  1. well i have another computer thats a 2.2GHz Celeron with some video card (AGP 4X POS) and 256MB of PC2100 DDR RAM but i dont even use it because my family has screwed it up so bad plus celeron...eww...theres a HUGE difference between those budget processors and the "real" ones, this 1.3GHz P4 is easily 5 times as fast (or at least it seems like it) i have a couple more PCs/Laptops but i dont really bother much with those either
  2. true, and my brother will probably get it when im done with it, so i suppose the nice thing to do would be to not dick him over although he IS getting a free computer >_<
  3. arent these two processors exactly the same besides socket type? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819116032 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819116175 Im buying a PC that i only need to last me about a year, so obviously i dont want to spend assloads of money on it when im buying a new one in a year, so im trying to save money If i go with the socket 775, i get future upgradeability (i dunno if id even bother though) and faster RAM, isnt that the only real advantage? Or should i just go Pentium D? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819116238 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819116254 The only difference seems to be virtualization support, I dont even know what that is, but it sounds like something i wouldnt really need, then again with a price difference of 10 dollars i might as well get it In which case i pretty much have a choice of these two mobos http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813157092 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131023 The ASRock seems better according to reviews/supports faster RAM, (I dont remember if it has PCI Express, i dont need it, i have an ATi Radeon X850XT lying around, which is AGP8X) Ive never used anything ASRock before though, and im very familiar with ASUS and i like their stuff, So what do you think? I guess i should go with the ASRock Pentium D setup right? jesus i hope my next paycheck is larger than expected, I just cannot stand this 1.3GHz socket 423 P4, 768MB RDRAM, GeForce 3 setup any longer!!! But would there even be that much of a huge performance upgrade with the P4 Vs Pentium D? I mean i know one is Dual Core, but isnt it kinda like the 64 bit thing where the apps pretty much have to be written to take advantage of dual core, which is pretty much nothing so far? Going Pentium D pretty much adds 100 dollars to the stuff i need
  4. someone on the steam forums said this is a glitch some people have, but i dont really buy that completley, so im gonna do that tonight and see what happens
  5. Yeah, it is pretty cool, but my PDA's emulation capabilities AND movie playback capabilities are much better, so i can already do it on there i did it for awhile and the novelty wore off, i can settle for whatever games are on the system, i mean it IS cool to have portable emulation, but ive never found myself saying OMG I need to play attack of the killer tomatoes NOW!!!! (never thought id use THAT game as an example )
  6. well playing MK was always kind of a social thing so i guess it was excused
  7. maybe they will join forces with Q Entertainment for the ultimate in gaming weirdness and originality
  8. Via Joystiq http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/13/blizzard...truths-is-real/
  9. after i buy some computer upgrades i think im gonna get a PSP just to get Lumines, and that new game from Q Entertainment, forget what its called but it looks cool as hell if i get the 200 dollar one it just comes with a PSP and Charger right? and i have to go buy some poop memory card? I dont even think ill use homebrew too much because emulation is better on the PC, and i would have to buy some massive ass memory card to watch any decent video, and i dont crap money
  10. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling steam (but backing up game files) and that didnt fix it last night i completley deleted the CSS directory and reinstalled it, and its still doing it >_< that folder should have included the client blob right? Ugh ill try only deleting the blob when i get home tomorrow and hopefully it works thanks for the help
  11. no problem, glad i could help
  12. agreed, i said it had memories not that it was the best my favorites are UMK3 and Trilogy, MK2 falls to second place
  13. im pretty sure TMPGEnc has that option
  14. My CSS is being really stupid, steam is being stupid in general In the server browser, it will not save favorite servers, and it will not remember the sizes of the columns and now in CSS when i press, just once it always buys max ammo, is there a way to completley reset steam and all of its settings? i really dont want to have to redownload everything O_o
  15. Mortal Kombat, awesome, ive always been a big fan ill even go so far as to say MK3 Ultimate is one of my favorite ones, i dont understand why everyone hated it so bad, like yeah it was not worth the price back in the day i guess, but now that its free MK2 on Genesis also has alot of good memories attached to it, so does MK4 on N64 (Which is actually its first 3D game im pretty sure) Trilogy was cool too i just love them all (Except the handheld ones, they arent very good :/ )
  16. i dunno, truth be told i HAVE Noticed alot more girls online, and met alot more girls who play games recently but maybe its just some weird thing, i still dont know about 64%, but id probably buy into something around 40% (There are ALOT of girls who play WoW beleive it or not)
  17. last time i saw an in browser emulator though it was written in flash, this one is in Java and i think the other one i saw you had to supply your own romfiles, unlike this site i guess enjoy it while it lasts lol
  18. While i know this isnt a new concept at all, theres a website with 395 NES games, all playable in your browser (I hope im allowed to post this, theres no actual roms here so i think its okay) -Mod's edit: Wrong. The actual ROM images are there on the site.-
  19. nice, theres probably no area you could really even improve on that much good job getting the Audigy and not the X-Fi, What creative doesnt want you to know is they are the SAME card, one of them just gives you a firewire port and the other one gives you something else (USB 2.0?) and tahts the only difference, besides the X-Fi costing more I would stick with XP for now, especially if you play games I myself am extremley stubborn and im running Windows 2000 Pro + SP4, its stable and uses less memory than XP and does everything from XP that i use, but i realize there are alot of tweaks for XP now to make it faster
  20. can this be used for computer saving purposes too? i wanted to make a bootable CD out of it awhile ago but never got around to it
  21. i used to like Winamp the best, but i had to switch to BSPlayer Pro (The free version works just as well for my purpose though) just because it has way better audio quality i went around the next downloading all the popular media players and testing them, and BSPlayer Pro has the best quality sound output out of all of them Keep in mind, this is most likely, and by most likely i mean 95% chance, thats its just this way for my hardware/configuration
  22. oh god you made me watch fox news
  23. because we have an IRC channel and a javachat that enters it for those that dont have IRC it would just be too much of a pain to have two chatrooms
  24. i stopped watching TV awhile ago, all i watch is baseball games, family guy, and aqua teen hunger force rarely, because i can just download them (minus the baseball games, maybe i could, but i wouldnt bother because its better to watch live) Theres just nothing good on, and whenever theres a good movie on its edited and with like a million commercials, i guess i could go the on demand route, but i might as well just use bittorrent
  25. has anyone played on it yet? i had torrents running last night (and theres one open now, but its almost done) so sorry about any lag :/
