Yeah thats what i started out on SuSe 10 is being advertised as something to switch from windows from with extreme ease, so im really excited to try it!

i would probably own one by now if it wherent for the fact that GBA games done really interest me either. All the good ones seem to be ports of NES/SNES games that have been updated that dont really play right, sure there are exceptions, but they arent good enough/dont make it worth buying the system for.

I bet someone will eventually sell empty cases you can put your own HD in. Okay thanks for clarifying that! i thought i was going to have to have 2 HDDs lying around!! I think its really stupid not to just include an HDD, they cant do HDD caching now, i mean, i know the drive is going to be alot faster, but it would always help! Maybe some games will require an HDD!!! (I wouldnt doubt it)

wtf? how is having alexa on your PC supposed to help anything? I thought it was just for keeping track of websites! (or is it basically reporting back to the sites you went to so it can contribute?) I havent been there in awhile, but i remember i used to think alex was owned by amazon.com because they looked so alike

yeah im definatly getting the more expensive one. this better not prevent me from getting a PS3 though because i want that more. I dont get why you need a separate HDD for Xbox360 stuff, and then another HDD for Xbox Backwards compatibility, that doesnt sound right, or do they use different HDD formats or something?

Is there any DS Tunnel apps out there? like Xbox Connect for the Xbox? And how to I find my DS's MAC Address? (i use mac filtering because im too lazy to set up WEP or anything)

Why doesnt everyone just download the Burn-It-All App Alcohol 120%? and not worry about this? I think ive only came across 2 images i had to burn with the actual program (and they where CDIs, go figure) but that was a looong time ago.

I have literally hundreds of Burned CD-Rs with DivX rips i made myself. (well, about 5% of them are downloaded, but good quality) I was thinking about converting them all but nooo way. I think your idea of using the Xbox is best, XBox360 is coming out soon so theres really no need for my Xbox anymore besides modding it (because its backwards compatible right!!?!?! they finally decided!??! I heard you need a separate HDD for backwards compatibility though)

there was a torrent for this like a week ago O_o I wonder what would happen if i pirated this, and somehow got to to play on my steam account. Mix of legally purchased and pirated games account...hmmmm Sounds like an account cancellation eventually and a waste of money >_<

yeah thats what that one page is that i posted. I'll probably try a new firmware soon just because they seem more efficient. Im still confused as to what the difference between the "Fast" and "slow" ones are, because the readmes for them both say that they are both RCP1. And why do i need a Bitsetting firmware if you can just change that in the DVD burning software? Is that just something that software didnt support in teh past so you needed the firmware but now its not needed anymore?

okay thanks for the help. I'll probably be buying DVD-R DLs because they seem like the most compatible/are cheaper in most cases, but if i end up with +Rs ill have to remember that. Also i have some MiniDVD-Rs that are 4X by Ridata/Ritek, and you mentioned gamecube, You can burn gamecube games!??!

Ill probably be using brands like Verbatim/Imation/Ritek/Memorex/TDK/HP, thats what i usually use. It sounded like crap to me too, but i heard this from ALOT of people so i decided to ask. thanks alot for your help. I'll probably be using my Xbox to play most of my DVDs. Or get a new Philips DVP-642, I miss mine soooo much, and theres no way i want to convert all my DivX movies to DVD, that would just take way too long. One more thing, How does the PS2/Mostly Xbox do reading DL burned DVDs? And I have a slide card, and im going to get an old gameshark so i can use it, what medium is best for PS2 burned games? (yeah i know this is in xbox)

Okay i remember what this is now, For all people that have this problem with ANY new drive, pay attention. For some reason, All your supported speeds wont show up in the list untill youve actually inserted a disc that supports that speed. For instance, all i have inserted so far is a 6X DVD, so im getting the speeds 1x-6X that the burner can use, Im not even going to see the rest untill I insert a 16X DVD. Same goes for regular CD burners, because this same thing happened when i bought that CD burner. I dont know why it works like that it just does, I even did a dump of my firmware and checked it, and sure enough there is media listed as being 16X. BTW i knew these discs wherent 16X i was just concerned on why it wasnt showing up, not trying to burn at 16X on a 6X disc XD
