You are better off trying to cut down, rather than trying to give up, just drink once a week and avoid excessive drinking. Alcohol isn't as bad as you think, a little bit of alcohol is good, but too much is bad for you.

I can make good music too, I scream into microphones and make babies cry with joy!
You're not only that hates screamers, quite often they scream so loud that I can't here the lyrics that really pisses me off.
Anyway, it good to see that artists are making their own path rather than having the greedy record company choosing their paths. Hopefully other great artists will follow.

I don't even think Bluray is enough to save the PS3. HDDVD is doing better now and some companies are dropping bluray exclusivity.
I demand sources stating this.
Last month, Paramount further muddied the waters for consumers when it decided to abandon Blu-ray (with the exception of films from Steven Spielberg) altogether and throw its considerable weight behind HD DVD. In choosing to do so, Paramount cited advantages of HD DVD, including lower manufacturing costs, mandatory Managed Copy (for backups), and mandatory connectivity (all HD DVD players must contain an Ethernet port). What Paramount didn't mention, however, was the roughly $150 million in "financial incentives" the studio will get from HD DVD's backers.Source: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070...9-at-least.html
No point about saying who the winner is, it a bit too early to make the fine judgement between HD DVD and Blu-Ray (Casino Royale ).

People care about the films more then the format itself.

Sony has had to lower their prices TWICE since the launch. That is not a sign of a healthy console. It is selling woefully under Sony's expectations.
Sony should of thought TWICE before including a Blu-Ray drive, there was nothing wrong with a plain DVD drive which is alot cheaper than Blu-Ray drive. I would play a 3-DVD game rather than a Blu-Ray game for the sake of reliability. Now that Sony are now selling them for half it should be worth, they are not making profit from any console sold.
Anyway, we'll never know if it was a Sony fanboy that came up with the "Bungie Leaves Microsoft" rumour.

Ubuntu+wine = Teh Win
while wine is pretty nice, it still isn't perfect, unfortunately, but it is getting updated frequently, so hey..
That true, there another problem wine can introduce Windows viruses to a Linux environment, so that wouldn't be a good idea. Running a Windows apps on a virtual machine (such as Virtual Box or VMware) is better than emulating it and trust me you get about 95% compatibility with Virtual Machines and less with WINE.
Anyway now I'm a University Students, I can get myself Windows Vista Business and XP Pro for free and legally (MSDN Academic Alliance), maybe I can get discount on the upgrades toward Ultimate
-
vista isnt even worth pirating if i could switch my latops back to xp without having to hunt down drivers i would. buut its a bs hassel. if u willinling pirated vista u deserve this discomfort from MS.
You're right there, pirating vista means emulating the BIOS, which is easy to detect or modifying the BIOS, which can risk in bricking your motherboard. Unofficially you can get DirectX 10 on Windows XP anyway, if you look well on google.
As for switching to Linux or Mac and you don't want to leave the Windows apps behind, just install VirtualBox with Windows XP as the guest OS, with the addition tools installed and just enable seamless windows.
-
As for Virtual Machine, I found something that is just as good as VMware and it free for personal use, It called Virtualbox which is based on qemu.
I'm using CentOS as the guest OS and Windows Vista as host, so far so good it feels alot better than using VMware.

Multi-Protocol Instant Messaging, Trillian is free & useless (to me it is,) and Trillian Pro is better but is not free.
The best alternative is Pidgin (GAIM) ( http://pidgin.im/ ) and it very stable of course.

You didn't mention Blender ( http://www.blender.org/ ) which goes under 3D modelling/animation it just behind 3DS Max, Blender was used to create a video called Elephants Dreams ( http://www.elephantsdream.org/ ) which I watched in HD myself.
As for the Internet Browser there also Safari ( http://www.apple.com/safari ) yes the new version does runs on Windows.

-
I think it a good idea, but some people (like my) still believe that global warming is still a myth.
-
Well I'm sure webmasters don't like ads neither, but most of them don't have a choice because they got to make revenue (money) somehow and displaying ads is one of the best way of making revenue. They need revenue to cover the cost of hosting
-
I see no ads. But i have adblock Plus
Shame on you mate, really shame on you.
---
Some sites (including mine) have acutally switched from graphical and contextual ads, to the standard (& the unblockable) text-link-ads. Most webmasters say that text-link-ads does better because it more professional than any other type of ads (pop-ups being the least professional). Text-link-ads is all done in PHP/ASP (server-side) rather than Javascript (client-side).

I grew up listening to good rock music and sometimes I can be a right rebel sometimes, I once told one of competitors to bugger off on last.fm because I didn't like his style of rock and yes I was a bit drunk at the time.
-
thanks for the link man... i know i love my style of music too
Yes, just keep cord bashing and I'm sure you'll become very successful as most people prefer simplicity over intricacy these days. btw I'm still using the same wallpaper as before except I move the weather gadget to the top left.

How old is Silvester again?
I was wondering the same thing on Rocky Balboa!
