They are banned because they are too new. Games such as King of Fighters 2003, Metal Slug 5, Poochi and Nya, Daytona USA, etc

MAMEDev have released a pure DOS mame version 0.99 You can get the standard version, an intel-optimised version, and the source code changes at the main mame site here.

Link please. Is that against the rules too? We have lots of stuff about unsupported games. Where is the line drawn? If there's going to be rules, it should be in the board rules for all to see.
