  1. the worst thing i ever saw for SS4 was when some dude whom we regulars had never seen before just walked into my local arcade and started destroying everybody. he played Bust Jubei (which you do't see very often) and - cheaply - played him like you would Geese Howard, combined with this dude's ridiculous reflex action he countered all day. I got him with Slash Hanzo (teleport, shuriken, teleport, combo, fireball to teleport fake, etc.) but with my normal chara Bust Ukyo couldn't touch him. I've gone back to plyaing Hanzo in ss5 because they ditched Ukyo's bust moves... lousy snkp... edit - no matter how hard i tried whenever i used bust jubei i could never do it...
  2. how would that solve anything? when i was in toronto i remeber seeing indian restraunts on every other street... (not that it's a bad thing - indian food rules). They'd only try to set up Gryph with their daughters back East
  3. what's the matter can't handle a little old-schoolness? my English grandparents still answer the phone by saying their number, run a PC with Windows 3.1 and refuse to buy any German or Japanese products because of WWII.
  4. i remember playing Gradius III on the SNES a long time ago... actually after i got into ZSNES i did a side-by side comparison and concluded that R-type 3 was better than Gradius 3. I haven't gotten to play R-type Final yet but how does it stack up to Gradius V?
  5. then how come the gamecube doesn't outsell ps2? actually it's pretty obvious, seeing the third-party mismatch (square enix vs. rare - oops, where did those sneaky Englishmen run off to?) but it's true that size does matter. It's just not the defining factor in the massive sales difference.
  6. what i'm surprised at is that it errors so perfectly - the life bars look great, just not transparent. You would expect at least some sprite misplacements or color errors or something. What amuses me is that pyro still hasn't found a link for the fix itself...
  7. L.S.D you said it yourself - that's the primary reason why Micro$oft is struggling. It's much easier for Sony to feed a well-established addiction than for Microsoft to turn people into junkies from scratch. Remeber, consistent software sales (not hardware) from repeat buyers makes these companies profitable.
  8. let's not get too hasty...we haven't even seen the ROM yet. Good things come to those who wait. P.S. i sure do hope i'm cool enough...
  9. too much information. Also "pr0n" falls under the category of 1 use: reprimand 2 use: bitchslapping 3 use: firing squad
  10. 1. in the back seat of a Camaro 2. at a friend's wedding 3. in the bathroom on an airliner 4. in the alley behind a porno establishment I hope someone besides me gets the reference here....
  11. whoa that's harsh. what would you replace it with, a borg-style collective consciousness or plant-like growth reflexes? yOu WiLl Be AsSiMiLaTeD bIaTcH
  12. Free food maybe? or perhaps some of the hot drama chicks....they were happy just to see anyone from outside the drama department because, sad to say, most of the drama guys are gay. not being discriminatory, just stating a fact....heheheh
  13. i meant it was there i think in april when i last went there.... it's out of my hands now, i already told pyro to ask k'dash.
  14. come on agozer, admit it, you want f-zero as much as i do... the track editor was supposed to rock and the car editor is something completely unique... plus when i was a kid i remember being wowed by the original f-zero on the snes...
  15. disoblige, i'm a violinist, so i've got all sorts of embarrasing orchestra-sleep stories... maybe 4 years ago in high school i got coerced into doing the pit orchestra for our school musical. Let me tell you it's hell, because the drama bitchez make you practice for 7 hours straight on weeknights followed by 6 performances in 5 days. During the last performance, our percussionist fell asleep and dropped his entire cymbal set during a big monologue, ruining the scene. as for me, i had been studying so hard i once conked out while on the phone with my mom and had to endure "are you drinking" or "are you on drugs" questions for two weeks.
  16. no flamewars please but at least he doesn't look like monkey and use words like 'stratiegery' and 'misunderestimate' 'We have better values [than Bush], we have better supporters, but most importantly, we have better hair." - John Kerry I think that settles the matter.
  17. i can add right...? 1. Twin stick support for Chankast so i can play virtual on arcade style 2. Useable Progear and Samurai Shodown V Special dumps 3. Kerry wins in november... 4. 64dd emulation so i can get on that F-zero expansion pack 5. Zone of the Enders 3 (online maybe... i'm counting on you Konami!!!) i think only 2 and 4 are eventual givens, although i'll do anything i can to get #3 there too.
  18. i don't (up until this thread i was under the impression that the real MVS had no transparencies) and besides i run kawaks dev. Try DC++ or post something on the rom request forum.
  19. it must have been removed... i could have sworn the life bar fix was there... you're on your own, pyro. Try asking k'dash, or remember that Google is your friend.
  20. sharp eyes, kanti. I'm awed that you could even notice the chick with all the burning and horrible, horrible, pain you were going through at that moment...
  21. it's this one. I've already posted it like 4 times in this thread. Click on the 'transparencies' header and apply the fix to the kof2k3 romset. EDIT: And that rom link has been removed by the one and only GryphonKlaw. Bow down to my rom link deleting power.
  22. Gahhh...that's not what I meant. What I meant by an SNKP fix was that SNK originally released kof2003 without transparencies and somewhere in the production cycle added them into the game (making it v1.1), thereby creating two distinct releases. This is not the point of the exercise. Seeing as how the transparency fixes available on the web are romfixes and not emulator patches, it is not the emulator's fault that the transparencies are not visible. Therefore either they were lost in the dumping process (highly unlikely) or that the original board - an official release at some point - lacked them. P.S.For God's sake..."If you failed to notice..."...Don't insult my intelligence or patronize me.
  23. hey roofus, I'm no sony fanboy but i have to disagree. In terms of raw poly and sprite pushing, I have yet to see any better effects on any system than the fully integrated 60fps cel shading of Zone of the Enders: the 2nd Runner (and that game came out in 2003). Rendering 450 mechs on one battlefield at 60fps with cel shading and weapon effects is quite an accomplishment. Regardless, i would go with the ps2 because you simply get more value for money. I have't been buying new ps2 games recently (the most recent one was Virtual On: MARZ) but i say grab a used ps2 and pick up these five great titles for less than $20 each: 1. Zone of the Enders: the 2nd Runner 2. the original Devil May Cry 3. Capcom vs. SNK 2 (i don't care what you fanboys think, in the words of EGM the xbox 'joypad feels like a canned ham') 4. Virtua Fighter 4 5. Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance If jiang is on a budget i see no better way than this to catch up with modern, next-gen gaming. 4.
