  1. so xeon is saying that the transparencies are simulated, not a real 'transparent' sprite overlaid over a single background image. However, that still doesn't solve the issue of why some versions of the game (MVS, ROM, whatever) have these transparencies and some don't.
  2. ah yes, and now Micro$oft's new best friend (read software biatch) Rare's going to do the same thing for Perfect Dark... I remember when i first popped Perfect Dark into my n64. I had been out of the gaming loop for some time so the game made a huge impression on me. I know im inviting a flamewar, but that warm and sticky feeling i got from playing it makes it the best FPS ever in my book. Oh, and not to get too off topic, for Jiang: ut2004. smack yourself and say 'duh'!
  3. Halo was originally supposed to be a third-person Jet Force Gemini (n64) knockoff, right? I remember reading about in an ancient issue EGM.
  4. calm down pyro, didn't we already give you the transparency link? nobody's jumping to any conclusions, we're just discussing the developement cycle and release versions of kof2003. K'dash probably has all the answers...
  5. I for one never expected to see the words "emotional baggage" on a 1emulation thread. Next person who utters that phrase deserves to be shoved in a burlap bag and beaten with a wet noodle.... i'd like to come back as a bird of some kind... preferably a large, cool one like the turkey vultures which lived near my childhood house.
  6. An official SNKP - designed transparency fix?
  7. i think we should starve Martha Stewart and Kenneth Lay for three weeks and make them fight to the death over a rotten sandwich.... actually that sounds like a great idea for someone with too much time on their hands who wants to make a Street Fighter II hack... edit: laying some cable, pinching a loaf, rolling a log, and dropping a load...
  8. so does that mean there are two versions of kof2k3? like a 1.0 and a 1.1 which has transparencies added?
  9. I agree with Phoenix. A lot of our pop culture, especially TV, is comparable to a backed-up outhouse at a Limp Bizkit concert - taking something already horrible and surrounding it in something worse. Take reality TV, for example: what's so real about having to eat rotten moose spleens and then undergo plastic surgery so you can MARRY MY DAD? give me a break... There you go. That's the reason why i game old school in the first place Oh, and to GryphonKlaw: You're darn right Carlin's the best. let's start with: he who is without companionship would find productivity in #shooting putty at the moon#...
  10. but if you check the website link i posted earlier it states that "the transparencies were not in the original dump." Does that mean they are in the MVS but not AES, or some MVS versions have them and some don't, or what?? James, i believe you when you say the transparencies are real, but i'm still confused.
  11. Hey GryphonKlaw, do a DC++ search for the George Carlin sketch "incomplete list of impolite words". I'm sure if we post them all we can find some that will get past the filters...
  12. because there are a few politicians out there who really act in the public good. However, they are in the vast minority. I drive a Corvair (no joke) but all my family still voted for Ralph in 2k. Don't worry, we weren't in a swing state. EDIT: changed 'majority' to 'minority' because i'm stupid.
  13. 2 words, 1 a**hole: Bill O'Reilly Bear in mind that his political preference means nothing to me, just that he's idiotic, impolite, and narrow-minded and has no business analyzing important world events.
  14. I concur. The first time i discovered the branching paths and the elephant slug in MS3 i thought i had died and gone to gaming heaven.
  15. I'll trust your info, James, but i swear i saw written down that the neogeo hardware itself cannot support transparencies AT ALL. that's why samurai shodown IV, for example, makes its life bars "transparent" by flickering them on alternate frames. James, a link to an official spec sheet or something of that nature would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Whoa, lets back up a bit here.... When i first got KOF 2003 to work in Kawaks 1.48dev back in April, i used a ROM patch that was found on this website StriderSkorpion gave me (from this thread). The URL is: http://kof2003fix.cjb.net/ Anyhow, the guy writing here says that the neogeo does not have any transparencies in the real (MVS arcade) version of kof2003 and that the ROM transparencies are more of a hack. Is this true? In any case, i think the kawaks transparency patch is found there.
  17. No, with the capcom hack enabled my MvC2 runs at 44.5/60 fps... and that's with a 2.6ghz p4 and Jaton GeForce 5600 with 256 megs of vram i think that having literally 2/3ds frame per second would make your head explode. As for the sound issue, DragonKeeper, i think the character voices are synced to the (slowed) gameplay and are often cut off i.e. when two characters do specials at the same time.
  18. hey shoto, does MvC2 run at 2/3ds fps (game speed) for you too? actually, with that video card it might be even slower..... For the GFX issue, you can also try adjusting your computer monitor's resolution but there's only an outside chance it will help
  19. All in a day's work right Agozer? At least you can cut him off at the beginning....
  20. heheheheheh..... just another fine day on the 1emulation board.... We're all mature people here, you don't have to misspell your insults. Unless, of course, you can't spell at all...
  21. Well then go find it if you're so smart. We're just trying to help over here Good luck with that.... heheheh
  22. I assume nobody has found it for one of three reasons: 1. The english version was never released on n64 2. Im not sure if the japanese version was either 3. very few people here can read japanese. Try doing a google for "lollers" and click on one of the first links, there is (or at least was a few days ago) an n64 rom site there. You may be hunting the unicorn though.
  23. SKYTHE, YOU RULE!!!! These are great work and I thank you for your time. Having just been out with a friend who INSISTS on listening to rap ALL THE TIME only one phrase can describe these: SKEET SKEET Thanks again...im gonna save these and put one in my avatar now...
  24. heheheheh..... same rule applies for what i say around here.
