  1. Just added this skin and I must say im very impressed, well done!! I like using the first skin (the dual pane one makes my xbox crash?) Great work, thanks
  2. Hi, Am trying to add the mame history.dat so I can check the mame history for roms. I tried putting this in the emulator main folder but this didn't work. Can anyone help? its ok just figured it out lol sorry guys
  3. don't despair darknoir! The xbox isn't dead yet. I reccommend you download and install NAVI-X then check out the ANIMEFREAKS television show feed. That should cheer you up Plus the xbox aint dead yet. As long as ppl like playing the old console games and the old xbox games the xbox will live on!
  4. well I like the dashboard layout on the ootb xbox, but the best thing about a modded xbox is that the sky is the limit (under a 64mb RAM "universe") microsoft unwittingly created a boon for the hacker and look what has been achieved! it really is amazing. A cheap mediacentre with a ton of options!
  5. cheers dude will have to try dungeons and dragons now, I used to like the cartoon so should be good
  6. hehe ingenious! I like it. Yeh shame about the downfall of arcades and the increasing power of "the man." Rage against the machine had the right idea! best number one over!!! lol
  7. hmm I would love one of these guns, will give me something to look for on ebay so bonus
  8. good games, I preferred timecrisis and house of the dead to area 51, just liked the recoil and the gore better I think!!
  9. lol the cab dreams are realised!! nice. I forgot to mention tmnt and simpsons, I played both briefly (at the airport before a holiday) and was blown away, would have loved more of a go on these in the day. On my to-do list in the world or emulation!
  10. Wow man, you had th best dad EVER! Any you still own those cabs too! man I must say I am slightly jealous!
  11. Hey all, I am interested to know which games you played in the arcade that are now emulated on xbox, and also the ones which aren't. I used to love punching sonic blast man, but that won't be emulated unless someone makes a punch bag xbox. Great when you are a teenager and you wanna find your limits and each month you get a little stronger. Outrun and turbo outrun: I played outrun and turbo outrun in a hotel I used to stay at in scotland. I loved the wheel and the pedals on the bottom of the machine (you had to stand on the one I used) but could never get very far. I thought the graphic of the car flipping was amazing! Thunderhoop: Played this in the south of france (the same trip I met my first hot girlfriend) I loved the intro but couldn't get very far on this. I think it was set to hard. I resorted to saying the machine wasn't accepting my francs so they would open it up and click the coin slot from the inside to give me some free goes. Until they realised I was lying and a huge french bloke scared the hell out of me chucking me out of the bar and yelling incomprehensible obscenities. Double Dragon: Used to play this in the rugby club bar when I was about 10-13 (so thats 1993-1996?) I just loved beating the shit out of ppl on that game! At the time the graphics were good and the gameplay compelling. My dad lost many a 50p to that game! And it was 3 goes for a quid, marvellous! Various scrolling flying shooters: I think the one I used to play in the leisure centre cafeteria was 19XX (loopmaster?) but I can't be sure it was so long ago. I loved that game so much colour and activity and firing those massive weapons gave a real sense of power! why could I never get very far in these games!!!!! Aliens: Can't remember which one I just remember it was either 1 or 2 and you got a "MASSIVE" gun to shoot the shit out of those damn acidic aliens. I will never forget the level where you come across the core/reactor of the ship humming in the background of the level. I thought what the hell and shot it to shit, BOOM, KABLAM the reactor goes critical and a message informs you that you have crippled the ship. Im not sure if this affects anything but I remember thinking that was the first time I could realisticly affect the background in a game I was playing. Fantastic! Anyhow hopefully that got this thread started, lets pass the time reminiscing for a while. Maybe some games you haven't tried will be mentioned and we can give them a shot on the xbox? What did you play? what were YOUR games?
  12. Hi, been looking at the gun you guys are talking about. Does it come with multiple (including xbox) adapters as standard or do you have to request a gun with the correct plug to match the system you use? Also does the recoil feature work in mame games? Does it recoil every time you press the trigger or does the emu tell the gun to recoil? Looks like a nice gun im thinking about getting one.... aaah (to digress) if only time crisis or house of the dead would work in mame. That would be recreating my arcade experiences. I used to complete house of the dead regularly playing 2 players on my own, a gun in each hand. I used to complete it on £4 (4 creds) on average and sometimes would draw a little crowd. Fond memories... i'd forgotten about that till I saw this thread
  13. yeah, someone said on here that you can use the dat to run the screenshots through clrmame and it will rename all the files to match the roms. I can't find out how to do this tho. Have tried using the help and googling but no luck. I just cut and pasted the whole screenshot pack that I downloaded (with more screenshots for roms that aren't supported yet still in there) and that worked for me. If you or anyone else can help me figure out how to audit the roms properly then am glad to help.
  14. Sorry RESX I can't figure out how to use the dats to sort out the screenshots. I just downloaded and pasted and it worked for me. I did try but failed. Anyhow it will work to add all the screenshots and also adds an element of future proofing as if more games are supported screenshots are already there.
  15. If you or anybody else works to collect them I'll definately use them if they're better than what I've got already. It probably won't be about a month and a half or more till I get to them if things go well. It would make my job easier down the road. Yeah ok, i'll tryto figure out how to use the dats to make a set for FBL and upload it for you. FBA XXX 1.29 is pretty sorted as is coinops already so if there are any others to do just let me know. Im happy to wait however long it'll be worth it
  16. Everything can be found here: http://www.progettosnaps.net/snaps_en.html Thanks nes, that site really does have everything! For those who want to just download, cut and paste one big zip use the torrent, for those who want to be more methodical use the above link, it breaks things down into useful sections and will not die like torrents do (at least hopefully not anyway.) I will be adding that site to my favourites I think Man we've made a lot of progress in a short space of time screenshot packwise, RESX you might wanna take note in case you ever get round to adding your spicy actions to mame?
  17. Just to answer my own slightly off topic addition..... it seems that mouse and keyb are supported in winston x, if plugged into ports 2,3,4 once the emu has loaded? at least thats what I read in an old thread. I think especially keyboard support is important for Amiga emulators, impossible to play many games otherwise!
  18. Has anyone used keyboard and mouse for Winston X (the atari ST emulator) have modded an xbox for my friend just for this emu, he loves the ATARI ST it would be great to add mouse support for arkaniod etc. has anyone tried this, did it work, do you have pics? Im specifically interested in Winston x don't forget peeps
  19. If you want some screenshots try this torrent: http://www.torrentdownloads.net/torrent/38...f+the+MAME+Roms im sure it is not complete but it will definately brighten up the emptiest of screenshot packs Enjoy
  20. Hi, I found a set of "titles" on a torrent but that isn't what you are after. Its literally just the title screen of the game, still its better than nothing and covers most if not all the games in FBL. check this site out if interested: http://www.mametitles.com/ If you find a screenshots pack let me know... edit: after some creative googling manage to find this: http://www.torrentdownloads.net/torrent/38...f+the+MAME+Roms have downloaded and it seems to be the real deal
  21. google "coinops showcase torrent" and start downloading. That is the easiest way will take you a few days of constant downloading depending on your bandwidth but it will give you a complete out of the box package.
