havbing trouble finding this can anyone confirm? no offense sbpaabck, but if you can't use the right thread to post in don't think anyone will help you and if you would have used the right thread then there wouldn't be any reason to ask the question in the first place Hint: try using the release thread for CoinOPS IGNITE Full Build and please do some reading before you make post if you check I posted this at 03:28 PM and the FULL RELEASE thread was created at 03:32 so unless I can time travel reading isn't going to help. Also I was replying to someones comment, I don't need help at all. I checked to see if there were any torrents and there was none so if anyone wishes to confirm my findings thats up to them if not I don't really care. No offence taken, thanks for sorting the full release. Sounds like im being arsey but im not seriously its cool that you took the time to sort this out can't wait till I can try it! (sorry I get defensive sometimes, im just so chuffed this is out, i've been following these topics avidly for months now so I read them a bit too much probably )

Hey, I anyone planning on releasing the Full Version for BP?
-
Many thanks for the pre-emptive pm Fumanchu However I need to wait for the full version since my roms are knackered now. Thanks anyway great work team and I can't wait until the full version has pride of place in my emulator collection!
-
Some roms are merged, the parent zip is merged with a clone in a zip with the clone's name. It was sometimes necessary because some original games were not working. You'd better wait for BP's full release because this is a long work done manually. examples cps2 fighters games use a USA clone because the Euro parent is not working. Same for armored warriors (armwaru instead of armwar). Gigasb is a clone of gigas (non working) ... I see, well I think I'll just wait for the full release, got my new wii chip to keep me busy for a while

"I think i build my roms with all of its roms in each set therefore deleting a game will not break another. Open Romcenter and look in the options, see how your building your roms, try auditing your roms again with romcenter if youve made any option changes." Many thanks for this, I have built my bios files etc when I load the games it says for example sbe_cc1.rom missing sbe_cc2.rom missing etc but when I open the zip folder for the game in question I can clearly see these *.rom files are in there. Romcentre shows they are there (and green) within the zip files (games) also. Is coinops not recognising these roms are there? Could you please tell me which settings you are using for romcentre, are your sets split or merged? does this affect it? If the roms are there but coinops cant see them for some reason why would this be? Its frustrating that rom centre says the roms are there in the zips, coinops says they aren't. I don't know how to fix this. Help me clever people!

yeah sure not complaining just relaying my experiences in the hope it could help some how and hoping to learn at the same time

When you tried the fresh install, are you really sure that ONLY mameox.ini was in e:\TDATA\babe0004\system ? Hi, I decided not to give up after all. I definately had removed these folders. I was also having the problem of the setting crashing my xbox once i tried to exit them, then coinops would not start until I removed all files from babe0004 in TDATA except mamedox.ini I think the problem was my xbox file system, I managed to get some games working by: 1: removed all coinops and mame rom folders (had tried this previously) this time I re-named my rom folder something else. 1: I had to set the rompath in mamedox.ini manaully before copying coinops over. It would crash and coinops would refuse to re-start otherwise. once done coinops scanned for games - none found! :- 2: tried to scan for games again - blank (I had set the rompath correctly) 3: tried removing all files from babe0004 except mamedox.ini. Then the driver/roms database was re-created using the new mame roms folder to rebuild using the scan roms feature. 4: games list now appears however not all games work, im using the games that came with coinops gold full version so I expected them to work. (its as if the files I deleted were showing as deleted but were still there somehow. Have been using xbmc as a file manager.) So now I have coinops working again I decided to follow steps 3 to 4 using a new rom folder with the games from coinops gold this time audited using rom centre. All game zip folders are green (I have an extensive roms list I use to re-build my sets). Treid playing games some work lots don't - and this is using a supplied DAT file with the latest version of coinops! I am confused, if the dat that came with final beta is supposed to help me audit my roms why do they show as green yet refuse to play? Is there a public version of the DATs that give a working games list? its really hit and miss when I choose a game as to whether it works, it always says roms missing but when I check the roms zip they all appear to be in there (the ones that are supposedly missing) its frustrating! How does coinops tell if roms are missing from a zip, does it use the dat also or a configuration file somehwere? Has anyone got a fully working games list (around 1250 reccommended games) or is everyone getting the "green zip files" from romcentre but having the games the zips relate to not work? Does anyone else have these problems or am i noobly bumbling around here?
-
after changing my rom path using hidden settings now i have the following problem: now no matter what i do it wont load a rom saying rom files are missing? I have checked the zip files all roms are there, i've run rom centre and it shows all rom zips as green. tried fresh install remembering to delete/replace UDATA and TDATA babe004 folders, tried re-copying all my roms tried using roms zips that I know definately worked in the past, no matter what I do error roms missing. The roms are there I don't know how this is still happening after fresh installs etc.. This happened after using browse to folder in hidden settings, now my copy of coinops final won't work. If this feature is something that is causing people more trouble than its worth I say remove it. Sadly im considering using my pc as my mame emulator I can't see a way to fix this
-
I have a similar problem, when I set the rom path via hidden settings it often hangs when it should return to the prior menu. This is especially true if I do a fresh re-install. I can re-set the xbox and the rom path is sorted (can then successfully scan for games) Also there is no option for a space on the virtual keyboard which is a bummer since I had named my different romsed folders names like mame, new mame and new mame 2. Not really affecting the performance of this emu at running games just niggly glitches.

Hk vs Coinops, Which do you use the MOST?
sbpaabck replied to XtecuterX73's topic in XBOX Hacks [/xbox]
Well coinops got my vote, I have absolutely no idea how to do all that stuff ppl have mentioned and I have spent hours trying to figure this stuff out. After literlally months reading and figuring stuff out I finally have a decent list of stuff that plays and coinops is in my opinion the easiest mame emulator to use. Ppl can't be arsed to work all this stuff out if its going to be popular it has to be straight forward and intuitive or to the people who don't have the time or inclination these features mentioned earlier are worthless, except to a select few. I respect those who have the ability to utilise these programs to their max but many people just want to play games and they just want it to work. Well done for following your vision BP and thanks for sharing it with us. P.s. coinops ignite final beta is brilliant, well polished. Im even seriously considering getting an old cabinet and proper x arcade sticks for a truly authentic feel! The xbox really is a wonderful thing I wish more people realised what it can do and had the ability to make the most out of it. Love and Peace all -
nice, I couldm't figure out the overclock function till now, this stuff would be useful in the readme
-
Many thanks, please consider the browse to rom folder option - I think this could be useful, maybe same for screenshots/artwork?
-
Hi BP, Finally had a chance to test this (beta 6) been busy (like you guys releasing betas faster than I could install ) I think the new menus are a vast improvement, I see you have included many more options as requested in seperate and this thread so no doubt happy ppl out there. Took me a short while to figure out you need to press in both thumbsticks for the hidden rompath settings etc but now I have the hang of it i like that also. I had a little trouble getting to the save feature as it seemed to bring up both save and volume at the same time so I couldn't see the save options properly (i.e. slot a,b,x,y) but I understand this feature doesn't work for every game anyway so no big loss I think I may be pressing the buttons wrongly will try again tonight, noticed a couple of little spelling errors will check tonight after work and detail them if you like (not sure if you are bothered about this) suggestions: 1/option of qwerty keyboard when entering rompath? - not important enough I guess? 2/ability to browse to rompath when choosing via hidden option? - this might help people who have trouble pointing to their rompath as the alternative is to have prior knowledge of the exact rompath. (it happens!) 3/an option to select screenshots folder in a similar way to the rompath selection method via advanced settings? 4/ability to change controller function shortcuts - e.g. save, load, pause etc with an option to restore to default. I really love the new beta - its slick and fast however I noticed robocop 2 and a beatemup which name eludes me seemed to be playing too quickly if anything! is there an option to change CPU speed or something like that which has eluded me? I think I saw an option like this (was it CPU overclock) before but I can't remember where. Thinking about it I think it was in the NEO-GEO settings but I couldn't find it last night - can you advise? When this version is complete its gonna be mint!

Has anyone else had the problem "error missing files" when loading roms with coinops ignite beta 4.0? Are there any DAT files that will correct this issue? I can't find any DAT in the download I got and I assume this is the issue here.
-
public beta 4 sent to you Many thanks!

Hey BP, Glad to see the project is doing so well still! Sometimes its hard to know exactly what it is to test this for you. I can play games and have lots of fun and it works! maybe if there is a certain area you want looking into or if you could explain what it is you want us to do? Im not as good with this stuff as you by a long shot but I like to think I pick things up quick and have a logical mind. If there is anything I can do to help (have a beta 3 at the moment) other than playing games then please let me know because so far I can't find fault with the program. Maybe im just not using it in such a complicated way but I really would like to give something back as im sue a lot of us do but just don't know how? Anyhow grateful as always maybe not good enough to help but willing if you ask/explain what I should be doing... Take Care

FBA-XXX Pro 1.29 Beta (aka project "Blue Balls")
sbpaabck replied to - kenshiro -'s topic in Final Burn (FBA/FBL/FBC)
Hey all, Can anyone hook me up with a link for this? -
I PM'd you to give you the "release of Coinops gold Standalone" the one released by Gavin, however since you are a newbie poster I can't PM you, you need to post 3-5 times before I can PM you. I can't just give you the link on this page as I will break forum rules. Either email me or PM me for the link.

man this is awesome! can't wait for the next release, hope it works out ok tho - willing to pay for a rapidshare upload if it means that the scene keeps going for a little while longer - looking forward to the new thread also! Apologies if this is the incorrect location - just wanted to formalise my request for the Golden Axe 2 drivers to be looked at - this game seems amazing but the glitches make it hard to work out the verical scrolling sections and also hard to pick up items in a fight etc. Im sure there are lots of people out there who see the potential in this game. I put this request on the spreadsheet a while back since it wasn't already there. Anyhow take care BP thanks again!

cool! cheers will check it now.... Nice, having trouble figuring out the "old skool" scrren sizing for Coinops Gold, is that covered or is it covered under a different heading? Got an LCD definately stretched and hidden problems with my filters so fancy a bit of old skool tech!
