  1. I see Robert is in here, so I must have been reported again. Here's hoping he doesn't ban me again because this conversation is civil and headway seems to have been made.
  2. Gladly..... I'll have to look into what you said about the config files for keymapping when I get back to my computer and see if I can figure that all out. 1) Is this something new to CoinOPS second quarter, or has it always been there? 2) What exactly do you mean "build it from dats"? 3) I should probalby wait until CoinOPS+ comes out so I know what still needs to be done, right?
  3. I'm not going to continue it. It's done for me. I know that it would take 5 years for me to figure out how to do what I want plus all the changes that you've made since I got your source, as I came into this project with 1 semester of C++ in junior college almost 10 years ago. You're the only person left who can even be called an "expert" on the MAME XBox scene and unfortunately you're an insuffrable ego case and not much of a mentor in any stretch of the word. I'm reformatting my XBox this weekend and removing the debug capabilities and deleting all the programs to do it, plus the bios loader and system setup so it would take forever for me to even get the damn thing working again to deter me from doing it if I got tempted. Sorry man. You'll have to get your entertainment and spelling/grammar lessons somewhere else.
  4. Very clever. I see you're going right back to the insults again. Nice sense of humility you've got there as well BP, the genius.... lol. Maybe I'll just start calling you Mr. Mensa instead of BPM$... But at least that's some useable information anyways. It comes so infrequently from you that I should celebrate. How bout you put the ability back in to add as many roms as you want. It's not hurting you to do it and you're only cripling your emulator for other people like me who would want everything added, just for the sake of pissing me off. Not really fair to anybody else....
  5. Well that's all well and good, but even after asking you many, many times you've never told me how to fix keymapping in the xmls. In fact, I doubt that most folk have any clue how to do it besides you and the few people who can actually manage to speak with you without pulling out their hair. I was willing to do these keymapping changes to games you hadn't added myself after you made your build, but you couldn't be "arsed" into wasting any time on telling a "dumb n00b" like me. The only reason I have "buggy source", or even had to make a debug box to start messing around with source in the first place for that matter, is because I couldn't get you to tell me how to do any of this the "right" way since day one.
  6. No, you didn't, but since you won't relese code you didn't give somebody the option to have all your emu features and be able to remap controls for games you didnt' want to add either. That was my biggest problem with your work since the beginning.
  7. Wow... 2000 roms.... That must mean that you've finally decided to make everyone happy and add the games you consider beneath you. Way to go BP...
  8. Curious to see if I'll get banned for this one.... Still can't figure out why I was banned last time. So BP, did you really fix the 2 player alternating games or were you just yanking my chain in the other forum? Just wondering, because that's a huge feature and you haven't mentioned it here yet. I've devoted nearly a month and a half to getting it done and I'd be really curious to know how you got it working in 5 minutes. Shouldn't be a problem backing that statement up after rubbing it in my face that you got it working in 5 mintues, I would think.... If it only took 5 mintues to figure out and implement, surely it would take half that time to copy and paste into a thread so I can try it. I really don't know why I have to beg for these things. We've been getting along fine on the other forum for a few weeks now until you turned on me again last night. I did absolutely nothing to trigger your change in attitude, and your true nature has been very apparant to pepople who have PM'd me today saying that I shouldn't give up on the project just because you are being yourself again. Regards, ~Rx
  9. All I asked was for you to follow Mamedev's license and provide complete associated source which is not sabotaged, and I would never bother you again. Today you admit publically that even though you intend to finally release this source, you will be releasing sabotaged source code, all because of a vendetta against one guy who really hasn't done anything wrong in the first place. That is your choice, and we are defined by our choices. I applaud you for showing your true colors publically today and I look forward to the day that you at least keep this much of your word and release your "locked" source. ~Rx
  10. Well.... I think at this point it should be pretty evident to any rational person who exactly it is that is acting immature here. Very sad indeed.
  11. Wrong.... That's where I got the MAMEox Launcher source from. Shame on you for violating license and handicapping everyone else who would like to take this project further. No honor at all. Regards, ~Rx
  12. According to the license the complete source, including any other part of the build which is used in conjunction with MAME itself must be distributed with the usable build, or at least be publically available, just as most are availabe in the usual place alongside the emulator. As for the locks, I'm sure that is against the license and that is just plain childish. You are personally handicapping anyone who would want to take what you've done and improve upon it. Again, this is something that we're all glad the MAMEdev team did not do, or we wouldn't even be able to play MAME on the XBox. For the record, full source under the license includes the MAMEox Launcher source, which you failed to provide me when you gave me the source last time. i had to take the MAMEox Launcher source from HK's last build and the source he provided in the usual place (following MAMEdev license) and this has been the reason I've had some problems that I shouldn't have to figure out for myself, because they are out of sync. You are handicapping future development of MAME on the XBox for all coders future and present by playing games and letting your personal grudges manipulate the way you carry on. Perhaps somebody should add BritneysPAIRS CoinOps, Platinum II and Arcades to the list of MAME derivative versions that violate the license by not releasing the full and complete source code on Wikipedia. Regards, ~Rx
  13. I know it's totally personal on your end. You were abrasive and abusive from the beginning. I'm truly sorry that I didn't get on my knees and call you Master, but I don't work that way. I think your idea of working with somebody who is "fun to work with" is sombody who is completely submissive and does whatever they are told and enjoys being insulted. Sorry for not being fun. That's a real shame you feel that your entire code isn't included under the terms of service. Where would you be, or any of us for that matter, had the MAMEdev team decided never to release MAME source to the public and to hoarde it to themselves? You are reading that wrong, and because your build uses original MAME source, you are obligated by license to provide that source upon build release. It's probably a completely un-enforceable license, but if you had any honor, you would release the full source. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAME Regards, ~Rx
  14. The way I see it, you really don't have an option and you have to release the source. From http://mamedev.org/license.html This means the entire source to the build, not just the parts that you pick and chose to leave in like before. Of course, you can always disregard the wishes of the people who originally developed the emulator you're borrowing. I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but you are violating the terms of use and you are denying me the ability to do what you have done with MAME from the start, which is to build on something which was already created and improve upon it the way you see fit. Always remember that you were the first one to insult me on IM several times before I told you to take a hike, and I will not refrain from posting those conversations here for everyone to see how this really started if you persist in saying that I'm the bad guy here and that I'm to blame for this. I would also like to say that I would discuss this with you in PMs, but you chose to ignore my PMs so I have no choice but to bring it public. All I want is the source, and the entire source this time, and without any sabotage in it either. I don't see what the big deal is. You will be following MAMEdev's policy then, and I will never bother you again. I can figure this out on my own and learn from your changes once source is provided. I will not ask you any more questions if the source is provided when you finish CoinOPS 2, or whatever you're calling it. I will still have to make most of the adjustments in code myself as I've already invested about 100 hours changing source code myself and I'm not about to abandon my own work even if you do the right thing and provide the complete source. As per your wishes, anything that comes out of it will not have your name associated in any way. Regards, ~Rx
  15. You never gave me any chance. Can I get a look at your source when coinops is done?
  16. Wow man. Looks like you're doing a lot of new stuff. Now if you'd just add the 400 games that take about 200MB and the ability to auto filter them out, I wouldn't even have to do any more work. Oh... and when I figure out a fix to make 2player games alternate from controller 1 to controller 2, you can add that too and this emu will have it all. EDITED TO ADD: Not meaning to cause anything BP. Figure I'm in a thread where it's on topic and it's just frustrating that I love 100% what you're doing and that it's just so damn close to what I want, but it feels like to be able to get where I want it's so incredibly far away. I enjoy doing this stuff and I'm really picking up on a lot. Love to be able to help you and learn so I can create the end result one day that I want. Seriously dude... I don't know if my OCD is going to let this one go until I got it done the way I envision it. That could take 5 years or a few months if I had some direction.
  17. Wow. Sorry for the off-topic post, but now we've got idol worship going on here..... lol. This gets better every day.
  18. My plans for the first release, hopefully in a few months... Guaranteed: 1) About 90 games changed so the US rom is the rom included instead of world/international/japan/etc. The standard will be US roms first, World/International roms second, Japan/Foreign roms third, as far as choice of roms included. 2) Streamlined mapping so all similar games have the same controller configuration. 3) Analog joystick and L/R button tweaking in the source code for best performance on all included games. 4) About 400-450 new games. (Yes, many are old, but 230 of the roms in the last update of Arcades were pointed out by me and the screenshots were provided by me. There are plenty of newer games that were still left out. My GUI will also make it very easy to filter the Retro games out.) 5) Streamlined source, eliminating all unnecessary clone data and notes providing build times for coders of less than 1/3. 6) An easier to navigate "Genre" system which separates, for example, overhead shooters like Ikarii Warriors from side scrolling shooters like DoDonPachi. Currently there are so many different types of games in the "Shooter" genre that it doesn't make any sense. Hopefully in the release: 1) I would like to make the ability to mask all of the Retro games easily, perhaps with a push of a button. I have many ideas, but I'm just brainstorming now and I'm still pretty far off from getting the source code cleaned and keymapping done first. Once I figure out how to alter the GUI, I will have many more ideas. 2) Fix the 2 player alternating problem. If you haven't noticed, about 95% of all 2 player alternating games are horribly mapped out. 2nd player start selects 2 players, but you control both players with the 1st controller. I have an idea about how to do this, it's just figuring out what code I need to alter. I'm actually halfway there now. When this is accomplished, 2 players will work with 2 controllers, like any other 2player alternating game on any other emulator for XBox. 3) More stuff along the way. I keep thinking about new stuff I want to do all the time. I'm also very open to suggestion. Some may think much of this just trivial details, and though it's true that a lot of it is, finishing these tasks will provide as perfect a base for MAME emulation to work off of as is possible. I hope this clears up any questions about what my plans are from this point on. I hope to have a release out to a few people for testing within a few months. Quite a lot of work to be done. Regards, ~Rx
  19. Why don't you read what I've posted before asking questions I've already answered in this thread and others.
  20. I wouldn't be posting here now, but BP gives me crap when I post in the other thread. I'm not going to stop posting, so here it is.
  21. Arcade Classics is a game by Atari that you dont include in your versions. I have fixed mapping for at least 10 to 15 games that you either didn't add because of control problems or you had on there like 720 that worked like crap, no offence. It may be little to you, but I actually like playing games that have good control.
  22. Well... like I've said, I've been cleaning the titles of games, removed 2MB so far of unnecessary code, fixed mapping of all fighting games so A is jump and X is attack and some other keymapping fixes, and tweaked analog settings for about 10 games so far. I also got Arcade Classics to work perfectly. Here's a test for you. Let's see who can get Arcades Classics running better. I'm tweaking it with every build I make. If you play it now and then take a look at the code, you'll see you have quite a bit of work in front of you. Don't bother looking on XBscene, I didn't post the instructions for that one yet. Regards, ~Rx EDITED: Ha ha.... that was an easy fix. I was too drunk earlier to even see that you changed the folders for the saves from /testid:0x4D414D46 to /testid:0x4D414D44. I already got the fix for that from ekszbox a week ago. I was thinking about doing it for this build to keep the old one on too but you saved me the hassle. I also saw you post that you did this so this version doesn't clash with other versions of MAME, so I know it wasn't directed at me. Thanks again, ~Rx
  23. Nice.... I like how you disabled the new build to recognize a new MAMEox.xbe and dump info for it. I'll have to use your old build then. Kudos for you to make this version unusable to me until I figure out what you did, but still useable to everyone else who is just playing games on it. Respectfully, ~Rx
