Some basic questions concerning Kawaks
Gryph replied to Last Exile's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
You need to get a new P1 rom in order for it to work with Kawaks loader. I don't have it (I wish I did) but you can read about it in this thread: http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8195 Without that P1 it will not work in Kawaks. And yes, if Kawaks detects it it is not a dodgy set since the names and CRCs have to match. Since the text is garbled that means you have a bad S rom. PM me for info about KOF2001 (it's not tough to find since it's old enough) but if you need it, I'd be glad to lend a hand. And you are typing things perfectly. -
Supposedly Nebula 2.23 is unlocked and lets you add new games. But your best bet is to get a loader anyway. It never hurts to have one.
-
The loader is a separate executable but it works just like nebula.exe. The thing I like about Nebula DATs is that you can add a game it and even if the ROM set doesn't match, it will show up on the list. And yes, you just add the info to it and it should show up.

Nintendo letting others use their characters?

And you get to ride those karts and do drive bys on them. -
I'm trying to recall which character models wer improved...I can't think of any. The only big thing I noticed was water, ragdoll physics, and some heat haze.
-
Well, either way I have faith in you.
-
Yeah, HL:Source is nothing special. Just a nice extra if you buy Silver off Steam. I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.
-
You get sent to a federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison.

I don't know about all that...I had lots of fun and enjoyed the experience which is all I cared about. Oh well, to each his own.

Unless they outsource an expansion pack like the crap-tastic opposing force. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Opposing Force craptastic? I beg to differ. It's one of the only good expansion packs made. But Gabe Newell has said they are working on new episodic content and some special hardcore maps for ATI people.

Nintendo letting others use their characters?

Oooh, sounds like fun but what letter of the alphabet? I think Y or V would be the best since they have that wedge thing going which would cause a great amount of pain. -
That would kick major ass.

Most video game companies don't allow that. I remember reading why on the Troika FAQ; this is what it says: And another thing, they're in the game industry because they have ideas and are better than you. It would really dumb for a company to not have any ideas of their own and have to resort to fan submissions. Why don't you go ahead and write up an idea (relinquish your own ideas) and send it to a game company and watch them not give a flock.

lmao, good luck! Anyways, is there any way of knowing that this governement officials and who they are? Like officed I.P's? I don't know, because I hate being mean and not giving despereate players romlinks... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sure they use proxies while spying on you.

The format for the DAT can be found here: http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4912 They are identical to Kawaks. Does Nebula 2.24 have a loader? If so, then you can add newer games to the neogeo.dat (which you'll find in the DAT folder) just like you would add them to ASR.DAT for Kawaks loader. Also, in the settings there is a bar which lets you change how much processing power Nebula can use. Highest is 15 I think and the default is around 10 maybe, I'm not sure since I haven't used Nebula in quite a while.

I must agree with K'dash here. ritzi is kind of right but there are some glaring faults in the direction the gaming industry is going now. Right now there's more a "let's make a sequel to this because we know it will sell really well" mentality going on. How many "original" games came out last year? Almost all of the biggest sellers were sequels and they were all going to sell big anyway due to name recognition. And the greater consolidation of developers under giant publishers (instead of the publisher pays semi-independant developer) so far means less and less innovation. What took about 60 years to happen in the movie industry, happened in a little more than 10 in the video game industry. Unless independant developers can come up with original IPs and inventive gameplay mechanics, the industry is going to go farther down the crap hole till it hits rock bottom and all we have to play is Final Fantasy XXV, Madden 2020, The Urbz 1$ and Grand Theft Auto: Johannesburg, South Africa (or GTA:JSA for short). Ok...enough bitching by me.

Well whatever the case is with current Nintendo hardware and software, next generation Nintendo will be even more exciting because their console will be radically different than either PS3 or XBOX2. But what they'll need to do is make a console that allows easy cross platform porting (with normal sized and proper format discs) and they should be set to hit us with something big. Anyone else hear about they gyroscope controller rumors? -
Well...my work here is done. Each and every one of you that asked for ROMs or sent me a PM asking for it is screwed. There are federal agents coming to your location with arrest warrants.

Well to do that you'll have to use two programs, RomCenter (which I can't link to you here, use Google) to check the ROMs and RomDataMaker to make the DAT: http://up2.fastuploads.com/94043866_romdatamaker.zip But first you'll need a DAT file (a different kind) to use to check your ROMs with. To do this, open up Kawaks and go to Tools. Click on Generate RomCenter DAT. You can use ClrMAMEPro if you want but you'll have to get that instead. That will create a DAT file in your Kawaks folder. Now open RomCenter (or Clr) and then load this new DAT you made and then open up the folder where you ROMs are. If they are OK, you can proceed to the next section. Actually, first check the stickied thread in this section for DATs for most of the new games. If we don't have it, then you can use RomDataMaker (which I provided a link above). RomDataMaker is pretty easy to use but if you need help don't hesitate to ask. -
Yeah, just go ahead and blame it on someone else. You need to stop being such a pushover and believing everything those morons tell you. It's not their fault for lying to you, it's your fault for believing them. I love that WTF mustard guy...

The rest of the gaming industry considers GTA to be an open ended third-person action adventure game. What makes it an RPG? Please try to convince me that I (and everyone else except for everyone down there) am wrong and then I'll gladly correct myself.
