why is there a glitch in blazing star!?
Agozer replied to Bobba_fat's topic in Arcade Emulators [/pc/arcade]
Maybe I should have been more clear. All you need to have, is either Nebula or Kawaks or any other Neo-Geo emulator and a set (game). The problems is, there are bad sets and good sets. There are no options in emulators that make "bad" sets magically turn into good ones. The only way you are going to get a good set is to download a completely new set or find replacements for the files that are "bad" in the set. Autiding tools help you to determine which files are bad (and need to be replaced or patched) and which are good. Auditing tools such as RomCenter have very good documentation and even without one, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to use it. -

An un-fuxx0red set (rather a set that's not flocked up, [thanks filters]) is a set that works like it's suppsed to; it looks, sounds and plays like the real thing. meaning no missing/garbled graphics, sounds etc. Auditing means to scan your sets so that you'll know if your sets are correct. Auditing shows what files/sets are correct and what fail the check, what files are missing etc. Rom auditing programs such as RomCenter compare the data on your sets to a database known as a DAT (there are several DATs for different systems, since RomCenter is an universal rom auditing/management program). DATs for different systems can be downloaded from the RomCenter homepage. -
New burning question i think its clonecd
Agozer replied to Bobba_fat's topic in PS1 Emulators [/pc/ps1]
Yes, it's for CloneCD, but you can also use Nero. Why? Well... The CD image is IMG, SUB is subchannel data (not sure if that is even needed, since CloneCD seems to create it semi-automatically), CUE is the cuesheet (it's universal, that's why you can use Nero). The CCD is CloneCDs own cue sheet, but it's format is more complicated than in the CUE. If you use Nero, just use 'Burn Image to Disc" option and then select the CUE file, and Nero automatically reads the image info from it. I need to jog my brain about CloneCD, but if I remember correcly, it's so easy that you just choose to Burn a CD image (select from the main window) and then select the CCD file to use. You might also need to select the IMG file separately. If there are any specific options for PSX games, use those. -
You know, I think the sysadmins in your school blocked them for a reason, and if the network's security is good enough, a normal user (i.e. you) can't go around it.

Has it ever worked? Oh yeah, I think it worked in the begining... for a short while.

Steam has gotten better and better over time. At first, it was really clunky and awkward... now it still has some annoyances, but has had major improvements. Although I'm still wary of buying things online, especially when it involves other currencies. Call me really old-fashioned and stupid, but I just can't get into this online shopping thingamabob.

I because the software has one bit setting, and the firmware has one. if you set it to something else (let's say software) or remove it completely, the firmware's bit takes precedence... and vice versa. RPC1 drives don't have hardware supported region switching, so the region can be set only once. RPC2 let's you do it up to 5 times, and it's either Windows-controlled, hardware or software. Once the region is removed from firmware, the software ones kick in and need to be defeated as well. RPC2 drives can use an autoresetting firmware which resets the region count everytime the drive is rebooted thus you don't need to worry about software counters... although some people say that hardware manufacturers can easily detect autoresetting firmwares, so you'd still need to clear the software counters too.

http://news.com.com/2060-10797_3-0.html?tag=nefd.bl Damn that's a lot of money. I wonder if the X360 will do any better...

Like I said in the other thread, audit your romsets with RomCenter and the right DATs. This thead has now been categorized as "useless". Let's take the conversation to the other thread kthx. -

You should really check that you have an un-fuxx0red set. Audit it if you must. -
Start --> Run --> "services.msc" [Enter]. Only administrators can change it.

You should look for alternate firmware updates here: http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php

A slight correction: The Playstation doesn't read ISOs. It reads PSX data and audio from a CD. Daemon Tools simulates a CD drive that uses CD images as a medium (since, you know, a virtual drive is virtual and you can't put physucal media in it. When talking about PSX emulators, they recognize ISOs as a CD, since either a) emulators like ePSXe have a built-in CD image loader that makes an image act as physical media, or you make ePSXe use the virtual drive created by DT as it's CD drive. Again, software emulates hardware in this case as well. CD/DVD images are just that, a single file that contains all the data (image) of a particular CD/DVD. No hardware can read CD/DVD images, just plain CDs/DVDs that were created from CD images.

And for European market 1st too I am going to import it....unless they make it in French, German or something else. Yes, although I already have ToE emulated, but the though of playing "the right way" is just too good.

Never happened to me in either Miranda or Trillian. You had bad luck.
-
No, but I'm going to get one as soon as the price is within more humane limits. Just because Tales of Eternia will be on it.

Day of Defeat, a Half-Life mod. VALVe sure took it's bloody time. It had been on the Coming Soon list for ages.

Christ, that's bad. No wonder I haven't been able to reach him on AIM/MSN for some now. I hope all goes well.

I don't know, I haven't tried it since PS2 images take a whole lot of HDD space. According to some older PCSX2 news, GT3 should run spetty good (emulation-wise, not speed-wise). CKemu should know better.

Because it's not considered to reach a wide enough audience, namely people outside of Japan... and developers rarely listen to that little niché group of people that do enjoy these games. Besides, localization takes a whole lot of work, and often times the payoff for making a localization isn't nearly as much as the efforts put into the localization. Some SRW games have been fan-translated, though.

No sane person use the original Messenger anymore. Miranda, Trillian, GAIM or any other multi-Im client should be an obvious choice even if you don't use all of the available services.

Try to get your hands on DVD Decrypter if you can still find it. You'll love it.

There are a whole lot of "real" fake emulators out there. The XBOX one is one of the most nortorious.
